This research aimed to compile a product development, knowing the feasibility and knowing the effectiveness of challenge-based learning (CBL) modules in an environmental material to empower the critical thinking ability. The research was a research & development model of Borg & Gall. Validation the product was done by material expert, expert of development and design module, expert of device and evaluation of learning , a linguist and practitioner of learning of Biology. Subject of the research was a student of grade X MIA Islamic State Senior High School Karanganyar. This research results are: (1) module in the form of product module for teachers and students CBL based on environmental material was developed based on CBL syntax and indicators of Fascione’s critical thinking that visualized in the objective, material, activities , and evaluation items; (2) appropriateness of module for teachers and student based on CBL environment material according to the validation results of qualified as good until very good; (3) Modules based CBL environmental material is effective to improve the ability of student critical thinking.

The effectivity and efficiency of the learning process is very dependent on the quality of teacher. Therefore must improve their quality by conducting various learning innovations, one of them by implementing ICT-based learning. The purpose of this study was to develop e-worksheet using kvisoft flipbook maker software based on lesson study to improve chemistry teacher’s critical thinking ability. This research used development model 4-D namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. The subject of this research was involved chemistry teachers and student of grade XI of Senior High School in Rokan Hulu, Riau, Indonesia. The draft e-worksheet was validated by experts using validation questionnaires and critical thinking ability instruments using essay tests. The data were analyzed using N-Gain formulation. Based on the result, the developed e-worksheet in chemistry material has exactly valid with score percentages 88.88% and average critical thinking ability about 60 with enough category. Therefore, it can be concluded that e-worksheets using kvisoft flipbook maker software based on lesson studies that have been developed can improve critical thinking ability of teacher and students.

The study was report the findings of an only post-test control group research design and aims to analyze the influence of problem-based learning approach, school level, and students' prior mathematical ability to student's mathematics critical thinking ability. The research subjects were 140 grade ten senior high school students coming from excellent and moderate school level. The research instruments a set of mathematical critical thinking ability test, and the data were analyzed by using two ways ANOVA and t-test. The research found that the problem-based learning approach has significant impact to the ability of students' mathematics critical thinking in terms of school level and students' prior mathematical abilities. Furthermore. This research also found that there is no interaction between learning approach and school level, and learning approach and students' prior mathematics ability to students' mathematics critical thinking ability. Keywords: problem-based learning, mathematical critical thinking ability

Learning activities in primary schools are still dominated by teachers, consequently the students' critical thinking skills are low. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation and improvement of students' critical thinking skills on the characteristics of wake up flat by using Contextual teaching and learning model. The results showed an improvement in the observation of students' critical thinking skills as well as aspects of teachers and students. The students' critical thinking ability in cycle I was 69 and increased in cycle II to 86. The result of observation of student aspect in cycle I was 76.75% with good qualification, and increased in cycle II to 92% with excellent qualification. It was concluded that, Contextual Teaching And Learning model can improve students' mathematical critical thinking ability. Keywords: critical thinking skills; Contextual Teaching And Learning model
