The study was to develop an appropriate evaluation model of quality assurance (QA) for evaluating the programs of the educational QA (EQA) at junior high schools. The study was a research and development study that referred to the steps developed by Borg and Gall. The results of the study show that the evaluation model of EQA in junior high schools consist of the implementation of QA system and the performance of QA. The constructs for the instrument of QA system implementation consisted of planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and the act of revision is based on the exploratory factor analysis at the significance level of 0.000. The constructs for the instrument of EQA performance consisted of: resource development; program and activity development; participation, satisfaction, knowledge change, attitude change, and behavior change of school community; social, economic, and school environmental development based on the exploratory factor analysis at the significance level of 0.000. The feasibility of the evaluation model is in a good category based on  experts’, users’, and practitioners’ judgment and the evidence found in the field testing.

This study aims to evaluate anti-corruption character education through Balinese local wisdom in junior high schools and formulate strategies to strengthen its implementation. The research samples were determined purposively. The evaluation model used was the CIPPO model (Context, Input, Process, Output, Outcome), modified from the CIPP model. Data were collected by interview, observation, and documentation methods. Data analysis was carried out using quantitative descriptive methods and SWOT analysis. The results showed that the implementation of anti-corruption character education was considered effective with an achievement of 76.06%. The highest achievement is on the input variable of 81.75% (very effective), and the lowest is on the process variable of 61.75% (less effective). The process of implementing anti-corruption education through learning, habituation, and civilizing is still dominant at the theoretical level, not involving students actively and critically in real life. The SWOT analysis resulted in five strategy formulations, namely: (1) establishment of a character education development unit (anti-corruption), (2) transformation of anti-corruption education learning, (3) exemplary, habituation and civilizing, (4) strengthening extracurricular programs, and (5) building cooperation network.

This study aims to describe the quality and implementation of authentic assessments planning of English subject at junior high schools in Yogyakarta. This evaluation research used a discrepancy evaluation model. It was conducted at three public junior high schools in Yogyakarta which were pilot projects of the 2013 Curriculum, namely SMP Negeri 5, SMP Negeri 8, and SMP Negeri 15. The data in this study were obtained through documentation, interviews and questionnaires. The sample in this study were six English teachers of grade VIII and 549 students in grade VIII who were taught by the teachers. The data analysis involved descriptive quantitative and qualitative analyses. The results of the study are as follows: First, in part (50%) of the lesson plans made by teachers was in good category. All (100%) of lesson plans had assessed attitude, knowledge, and skill. Some part of the lesson plan (33%) included assessment techniques that are in accordance with the competencies assessed, and some other (50%) used HOTS questions, while the other (50%) used realistic questions. Second, in part (51)% of the teachers conducted authentic assessmentsm which is included in good category. Most (77%) of the teachers assessed attitude, knowledge and skill, 57% of the teachers gave HOTS questions, most (87%) of the teachers gave realistic questions, and most (63%) of the teachers assessed attitude, knowledge, and skill during the learning process.

This study aims to describe the implementation of character education in mathematics learning in junior high schools in South Tangerang along with its supporting and inhibiting factors. This research is an evaluation research, using quantitative and qualitative approaches. The evaluation model used in this research is the sustainability evaluation model (discrepancy model). The subjects in this study were 18 junior high schools in South Tangerang to follow quantitative data and 6 junior high schools in South Tangerang to collect qualitative data. Data were collected through student questionnaires, teacher questionnaires, interviews, documentation and observation. Data were analyzed using quantitative quantitative analysis and categorization, while qualitative data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the evaluation can be removed as follows: First, the implementation of character education in mathematics learning in junior high schools in South Tangerang is in the poor category. Second, the supporting factors include: (1) vision and mission of the school; (2) there is a school agreement related to character building through learning; (3) support from school principals and vice principals; (4) good cooperation between the school environment and school members; (5) the condition of students who have good character basics; and (6) examples of positive teacher behavior as role models. While the inhibiting factors include: (1) teachers do not have an adequate understanding of the concept of character education, especially implementation in mathematics learning, and (2) teachers still experience difficulties in identifying values character of basic competence in mathematics; (3) teachers have not been able to properly implement integrated character education in mathematics learning; (5) incomplete facilities and infrastructure; (6) Teachers have difficulty implementing character education in courageous learning; (7) teachers have difficulty assessing character education in a bold manner; and (8) documentation of student attitudes is still weak

The study was designed as a linked two-phase investigation, aiming to psychometrically develop and validate a Chinese version of the “Organizational Climate Diagnostic Instrument for Junior High Schools” (OCDI-JH) for use in Taiwan. Through extensive literature reviews, the complex phenomena of school climate were decomposed into a priori school climate construct in the first phase of the study. The data were collected from two separate samples of 287 junior high school principals/teachers/administrators for exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and 295 for confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), which were performed to scrutinize the psychometric properties of the OCDI-JH comprising 22 items clustered under five dimensions of (a) Safety (three items), (b) Academic (three items), (c) Relationships (seven items), (d) Institutional Environment (five items), and (e) Leadership (four items). Importance-Performance and Gap Analysis (IPGA) was applied in the second-phase elicitation study on 15 school faculty members to detect climate factors to be strengthened in a selected junior high school for school improvement. Focusing explicitly on contextually specific evaluation that facilitate school improvement, the OCDI-JH offers promise as a robust school climate diagnostic appraisal with practical implications for improving school effectiveness and implications for future research directions.

The focus of this research is to design geometry learning mediain junior high schools based on RME and integrated with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) using 3D Pageflip Proffesional, and to explain quality of the learning media. In the process of design and development of this media used is the ADDIE development model which begins with the stages analysis, design, development, and  carried out an evaluation in each stages. Implementation stages will be continued in the following years research. This research resulted in a product in the form of geometry learning media in junior high schools especially eight grade according to purpose. Based on the validity test and practicality test the results obtained from the validation by material experts and media design experts were 4.09 namely 81.8% and 4.21 or 84.2%.Based on the criteria for the validity of the instrument, the criteria for "very valid" were obtained. And the practicality results, namely the results of teacher response questionnaire obtained an average of 4.26 or 85.19%, and the results of student questionnaire responses were 4.07 or 81.4%. Then based on the percentage criteria of practicality of the instrument, it is found that the criteria are very practical and the media can be implemented with minor revisions.

As the American musical has come of age and matured with continuing vitality, it has developed not just one canon but many. Various performing canons are tailored to specific cultural settings, reflecting venue, expected audiences, available performers, or other factors. There exist separate canons for high schools interested in getting lots of bodies on stage, for community theaters on a budget with a stable of local stars vying for plum roles, for church groups or junior high schools more careful with subject matter, or for college groups looking for something far enough out there to satisfy their rebellious urges. And finally, there exist a critical canon and a teaching canon, for which musicals are chosen in part according to the larger historical and social narratives they support. This chapter is paired with Micaela Baranello’s “Viennese operetta canon formation and the journey to prestige.”
