The focus of this research is to design geometry learning mediain junior high schools based on RME and integrated with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) using 3D Pageflip Proffesional, and to explain quality of the learning media. In the process of design and development of this media used is the ADDIE development model which begins with the stages analysis, design, development, and  carried out an evaluation in each stages. Implementation stages will be continued in the following years research. This research resulted in a product in the form of geometry learning media in junior high schools especially eight grade according to purpose. Based on the validity test and practicality test the results obtained from the validation by material experts and media design experts were 4.09 namely 81.8% and 4.21 or 84.2%.Based on the criteria for the validity of the instrument, the criteria for "very valid" were obtained. And the practicality results, namely the results of teacher response questionnaire obtained an average of 4.26 or 85.19%, and the results of student questionnaire responses were 4.07 or 81.4%. Then based on the percentage criteria of practicality of the instrument, it is found that the criteria are very practical and the media can be implemented with minor revisions.

Sustainable professional development of pedagogic teachers is a strategic effort to improve the competence and performance of teachers in carrying out their duties and functions as planners, implementers, and evaluation of learning in  the classroom. This research aims to examine the improvement of innovative, creative, adaptive, and productive quality of PBI based on Indonesian text and character through the SKBP model of teachers in junior high schools and MTs. This research was  conducted using qualitative approach with survey type. The research subjects were PBI teachers in 6 junior high schools and MTs selected research target locations by using random patterns of strata. Descriptive data of 5 research objects obtained by researchers as a key instrument with interview techniques, questionnaires, and focused observations. Data analysis was carried out using a flow model during the study.  The development models used are  R2D2 model: Recursive, Reflective Instructional Design and Development  and Oxford training strategy model. The assessment of the effectiveness of the SKBP model was carried out using a qualitative approach with the type of class action research of the Kemmis and Taggart models. The research subjects were PBI teachers and grade VIII students at 6 junior high schools in Malang districts and cities. Further data analysis is done descriptively, including (1) improvement of pbi process based on Indonesian text and character using SKBP model and (2) improvement of PBI results based on Indonesian text and character using SKBP model.

This study aimed to evaluate the impact of school zoning policies on equal access to education for underprivileged students in Yogyakarta City. This research was motivated by the low quality and inadequate access to education for underprivileged students in Indonesia. Starting in 2018, the Central Government implemented a school zoning policy to improve the quality and equitable access to education for underprivileged families in every region. This research was carried out in 16 State Junior High Schools in Yogyakarta City. This was the research location because it was one of the national pilot areas chosen by the Central Government. A quantitative approach was used to evaluate secondary school data before and after the implementation of the zoning policy. The results showed that: (1) there was an increase in access to education for underprivileged students; and (2) the imbalance in the quality of favorite and non-favorite schools did not change and this was influenced by the economic conditions of each region. It can be concluded that the school zoning policy increased equal access to education for underprivileged students, but the next challenge for the Yogyakarta City Government is ensuring equal quality of education across junior high schools. Keywords: school zoning policy, equal access, junior high school, underprivileged student

Teacher competence is one of the supporters of the successful implementation of education. The purpose of this study will be to explain the competency strengthening model for Islamic religious education teachers carried out by junior high schools in Jember Regency. This research is a qualitative research with a narrative approach. The main data sources in this study consisted of school principals and teachers in the district of Jember totaling 10 people consisting of Islamic religious education teachers and school principals. The selection of participants used purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques were carried out by in-depth interviews and observations. The analytical technique used in processing the data is by reducing the data, presenting the results and interpreting the data. The results showed that there were three models of strengthening teachers' pedagogic competencies. First, training to equip and strengthen the knowledge, skills and attitudes of teachers in teaching. Second, mentoring is carried out to direct teachers in strengthening skills. Third, the supervision carried out by the principal to measure and provide an assessment of the competence of teachers who have been trained and assisted. The research that has been produced is expected to be the basis for making policies on strengthening competence for teachers in the future. Subsequent more in-depth research is very helpful in adding information about similar research.

The creation of interactive learning activities can be influenced by the availability of media and learning resources as a useful tool in teaching and learning activities. The effectiveness of students' absorption of difficult and complicated learning materials can be achieved with the help of the demonstration tool as a media. The purpose of this research is to produce an earthquake demonstration tool, as a valid learning media for use in the learning process of physics in junior high schools. This development research uses the R & D method which was adapted from Nieveen & Folmer with three-phase, namely: preliminary research, development or prototyping phase, and the formative evaluation within the development stage. The evaluation of the validation of the media uses the instrument of validation of the earthquake demonstration tool with 5 indicators and the assessment of validation of the guidebook with 4 indicators. The results of the design of the media obtained the validation score for the earthquake demonstration tool with a score of 4.5 where a very valid category and the handbook obtained a validation score of 4.4 with a very valid category. Based on the results of this research, an earthquake demonstration tool had been successfully made and a guidebook for its use as a physics science learning media is valid and suitable for use in junior high schools.

Education plays an important role for the economic evolution and social development of a nation. This study aims to explore efforts to improve the quality of education in junior high schools and the problems they faced. This study applied a qualitative approach with a multi-case strategy. The research took place in three junior high schools in Tana Toraja Regency, Sulawesi, Indonesia. They were in different areas which are suburb, semi-city and city. Data collection was carried out by semi-structured in-depth interviews with school principals and teachers. Technical triangulation, which is unstructured observation and member checks, was used to validate the collected data. The results showed that the three schools were trying to improve the quality of their education. The quality targets to be improved or achieved were different between schools. However, they face problems in achieving the targeted quality. These problems include the inadequate number of teachers and their low work commitment, suburban and semi-urban schools that have inadequate facilities and infrastructure, and insufficient educational tests in schools.
