The paper presents a valid and efficient method to teach ideological and political education courses in linear regression analysis. It includes theory and practice parts, where interactive learning methodologies are created. It adopts case-study teaching, since this teaching method effectively integrates theoretical teaching and practical teaching. The lectures should be not an exhaustive review of regression methodology, but they should focus on how the regression models derived. Moreover, the teacher should pay more attention to the theoretical aspects of models rather than to their implementation using software. Students work in teams of three or four on a problem presented by teachers and choose relevant software to carry out their own projects. Feedback from students indicates that this method of teaching improves students' class attendance and greatly increases their interest in learning.

In this new era of mobile internet, in the face of the demanding task of educating students and helping them to have correct values, so that they can understand socialism with Chinese characteristics better and be willing to make contributions to our Chinese dream of national rejuvenation, we teachers should advance with the times, and design our ideological and political education courses properly to enhance college students’ integrative motivation to make learning a part of their everyday life, and help them develop a good habit in their lifetime. Based on constructivism, we can make use of some smart phone-based apps like “Xuexi Qiangguo” to have an integrative approach. This app is distinctive, authoritative, and powerful, like a great treasure house with a lot of news, theories, and stories. It is flexible, easily accessible, and efficient, and is able to us make a big difference in teaching. Our case study shows how we can actually rebuild a preview mechanism, upgrade our learning style and better evaluation mechanism for better teaching of some courses.

Curriculum ideological and political education, an educational guideline that encourages the integration of ideological and political education in all subjects and courses, is being widely adopted in Chinese universities. It aims to cultivate the comprehensive abilities of students with moral, intellectual, physical, and aesthetical grounding, instead of focusing on the acquisition of knowledge only. Misconceptions of this concept are still commonly seen, however, and they are hindering the effective implementation of the guideline. This paper attempts to discuss three common misconceptions and provide insights that hopefully will clear up some confusion. Some practical approaches are also proposed in the end for teachers to follow.

The report of the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China puts forward the connotative development of higher education. For ideological and political education, it is to realize the humanistic care of Ideological and political education. Humanistic care, as a unique “general education” in Chinese universities, is the basis for improving the effectiveness of Ideological and political education. It is an important standard for the connotative development of higher education to construct a path to realize the humanistic care of Ideological and political education from the three elements of educators, educatees and educational environment.
