Abstract: In this paper, an IoT based automated water irrigation system is proposed. This system is used to increase the production rate of agriculture based on the internet of things (IoT) and cloud computing. Sensor technology has been developed and various kinds of sensor such as humidity, temperature, soil moisture sensor, and pH sensors are used to collect information about the condition of the soil. By using the advanced technologies, the farmers get benefitted for better production in agriculture. Keywords: Sprinkling, Smart Sensor Pouch, MSP 430, RS 485 Port, IoT, Cloud Computing

AbstractThe Internet of Things in the home is a design space with huge potential. With sensors getting smaller and cheaper, smart sensor equipped objects will become an integral, preinstalled part of the future home. With this article we will reflect on Sensing Home, a design tool to explore sensors in the home together with people. Sensing Home allows people to integrate sensors and connectivity into mundane domestic products in order to make them smart. As such, it can be used by people to experience and explore sensors in the home and daily life. They may explore possible use cases, appropriate sensor technology, and learn about this technology through use. At the same time people may also be empowered to understand the issues and implications of sensors in the home. We present the design rationale of Sensing Home, five usage examples of how Sensing Home allowed people to explore sensor technology, and the deployment of Sensing Home together with a self-developed group discussion method to empower people to understand the benefits and pitfalls of sensors in their home. The article ends with a brief reflection whether Sensing Home is a probe or a toolkit.

Banana is one of the commodities that have nutritional value and high economic value. In order to produce a nice fruit and a high economic value, these plants must grow well. The Factors that can cause the plant to grow well, one of them is water. Water is used by plants, to grow root, stem, leaves and also maturation the fruit. When the plant doesn’t have water, growth will be stunted even death. In addition to deficiencies, excess water on the plant can also cause spoilage. Therefore, needed a tool which can watering plants, especially banana plant. The tool can be made using Arduino. Arduino is brand platform microcontroller that can control various sensors from soil moisture sensor, humidity sensor even it can apply the concept of the Internet of Things. The purpose of this research is to create a prototype automatic watering tool uses concept of the Internet of Things (IoT) to find out the condition of banana plant in real-time. The results obtained, the automatic watering tool successfully built and functional according the design, starting from the arduino that can control the soil moisture sensor to read current soil moisture, insert the data into the database, and the pump doesn’t on, because the moisture didn’t under 41% or in dry condition during the research. These data also sent to the user with a method of push notification. Keywords: Arduino, Banana, Internet of Things, Pushbullet, Push notification

With the development of emerging technology innovations such as the internet of things, classroom management has also shown an informatization trend. Among them, smart classrooms are an important part of the current university information environment construction. The purpose of this article is to build a smart classroom into an intelligent teaching environment with many functions such as intelligent perception and identification, real-time monitoring based on the internet of things technology and cloud computing technology. A questionnaire survey was conducted among freshman students in some majors, and interviews were conducted with the instructors. It was found that 92.19% of the students were satisfied with the classroom learning in the smart classroom environment, and most teachers thought that the teaching effect had been improved. Experiments have proven that the operation of smart classrooms based on the internet of things and cloud computing realizes the intelligence of teaching management services and improves the level of education informationization in schools.

Industry 4.0 is a technology-driven manufacturing process that heavily relies on technologies, such as the internet of things (IoT), cloud computing, web services, and big real-time data. Industry 4.0 has significant potential if the challenges currently being faced by introducing these technologies are effectively addressed. Some of these challenges consist of deficiencies in terms of interoperability and standardization. Semantic Web technologies can provide useful solutions for several problems in this new industrial era, such as systems integration and consistency checks of data processing and equipment assemblies and connections. This paper discusses what contribution the Semantic Web can make to Industry 4.0.

Edge data processing represents the new evolution of the Internet and Cloud computing. Its application to the Internet of Things (IoT) is a step towards faster processing of information from sensors for better performance. In automated systems, we have a large number of sensors, whose information needs to be processed in the shortest possible time and acted upon. The paper describes the possibility of applying Artificial Intelligence on Edge devices using the example of finding a parking space for a vehicle, and directing it based on the segment the vehicle belongs to. Algorithm of Machine Learning is used for vehicle classification, which is based on vehicle dimensions.

The fog computing is the emerging technology to compute, store, control and connecting smart devices with each other using cloud computing. The Internet of Things (IoT) is an architecture of uniquely identified interrelated physical things, these physical things are able to communicate with each other and can transmit and receive information. This research presents a framework of the combination of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Fog computing. The blockchain is also the emerging technology that provides a hyper, distributed, public, authentic ledger to record the transactions. Blockchains technology is a secured technology that can be a boon for the next generation computing. The combination of fog, blockchains, and IoT creates a new opportunity in this area. In this research, the author presents a middleware framework based on the blockchain, fog, and IoT. The framework is implemented and tested. The results are found positive.
