Introduction. The analysis of studies on waves of translation and their dynamic effects on water infrastructure facilities indicates the incompleteness of accounting the dispersion component of wave motions in discharge flows. Existing analysis methods for the surge parameters with the dependence of the propagation velocity and wave pressure on the wavelength should be only considered as a rough approximation of the role of dispersion processes accompanying the surge propagation in river flows. The purpose of the research is to increase the accuracy of reliability analyses for equipment and auxiliary mechanisms of hydraulic structures and water facilities in the context of the growth of hydrologically hazardous natural phenomena in the form of surges. Materials and methods. The article used an analytical method for calculating the wave motion parameters. It is based on determining the conditions for synchronism of jumps and discontinuities in the parameters of the medium state when passing through front surfaces. An option was suggested for using the frontal characteristics method for integrating equations of unsteady currents in open flows. The paper presented a scheme for solving the differential equations of unsteady motions and continuity of flows in river streams with surges in the presence of resistance forces. Results. Analytical design relations were obtained for the velocity and power effects of surges with dispersion dependence on wavelength. An analysis of the obtained solutions is carried out by illustrating the dynamic effects of wave dispersion on water infrastructure facilities. Conclusions. The suggested method of the more accurate analysis for the force impact of the discharge flow from surges on the structural elements of hydro-economic and water-transport facilities can be used to determine the reliability of hydraulic structures and water-transport facilities. The obtained analysis relations for determining the kinematic and dynamic characteristics of the dispersion of the surges are advisably recommended to supplement the existing regulatory documents on hydraulic engineering.

The basis of the enterprise “Moscow Canal” in its present state is the canal Moscow - Volga constructed in 1937. Today “Moscow Canal” is the biggest water transport and water industry complex. It has 10 filiations and solves a substantial complex of tasks. One of the most important part of hydraulic structures operation is their observation or monitoring of their safety, which gives us timely and adequate picture of their work and helps to forecast and prevent emergency situations.The article is devoted to the development of the monitoring system of the water- works of the Moscow canal beginning with the moment of its construction to the present time, the observation analysis of the condition of the walls of canal locks chambers, lock no. 2 where destructive processes in the operation of the walls were first discovered and different methods of liquidation of their development were made. The main problems in the field of monitoring of hydrotechnical structures of the Moscow canal are identified basing on the analysis of the observations.

During the long-term operating period, the mechanical parameters of hydraulic structures and foundation deteriorated gradually because of the environmental factors. In order to evaluate the overall safety and durability, these parameters should be calculated by some accurate analysis methods, which are hindered by slow computational efficiency and optimization performance. The improved deep Q-network (DQN) algorithm combined with the deep neural network (DNN) surrogate model was proposed in this paper to ameliorate the above problems. Through the study cases of different zoning in the dam body and the actual engineering foundation, it is shown that the improved DQN algorithm has a good application effect on inversion analysis of material mechanical parameters in this paper.

The article shows the procedure for determining the values of the stability index of hydraulic structures (earth dams). An approach to the creation of an engineering methodology for carrying out operational calculations for predicting the state of an earth dam under the influence of known characteristics of damaging factors of rapidly developing dangerous natural phenomena and man-made processes is presented. One of the directions of application of the proposed approach is shown — the definition of rational parameters for the protection of hydraulic structures and the development of a plan of measures to achieve them.

ملخص البحث:تعد السفن من وسائط النقل المائية التي استخدمها العراقيون القدماء في تنقلاتهم النهرية الداخلية والخارجية منذ حقب مبكرة من تاريخهم، وإن ظهور هذه السفن قد أحدث انقلاباً كبيراً في طبيعة العلاقات التجارية ونشاطاتها في بلاد آشور.لقد كان لتوسع حدود الامبراطورية الآشورية نتيجة حروبها المتواصلة خلال العصر الآشوري الحديث (911-612ق.م) ان ظهرت الحاجة الى معرفة الاشوريين للسفن، فقد بلغ التوسع أوجه في القرن السابع والسادس ق.م، من حدود إيران (حديثا) إلى الجنوب الشرقي عند مياه الخليج العربي، وإلى شواطىء البحر المتوسط في الغرب، وكذلك مصر، وأدى ذلك التوسع إلى اصطدام الآشوريين عسكرياً بأقوام كانت تقطن في تلك المناطق التي تفصلها عنهم مياه الأنهار والبحار، وكانت هذه الظواهر الطبيعية تشكل عائقاً امام تقدم القطعات العسكرية الآشورية، ولاسيما في موسم الفيضانات الأمر الذي دفع الآشوريون إلى اهتمامهم بوسائط النقل المائية واهمها السفن.وفي ضوء ماسبق فقد قسم البحث إلى ثلاثة محاور:المحور الأول: مدخل تاريخي عن نشأة السفن المائية وأهميتها.المحور الثاني: مصادر معلوماتنا عن السفن.المحور الثالث: السفن المائية الآشورية دراسة في ضوء النصوص المسمارية المترجمة.الكلمات المفتاحية:بلاد آشور، السفن، العصر الآشوري الحديث، النصوص المسمارية، وسائط النقل المائية.Assyrian ships – a study in the light of the translated cuneiform textsAbstract:Ships are one of the contrivance of transportation used by the Mesopotamian people in their river internal and external movements since early periods of their history, and the emergence of these ships has caused a great change in the nature of trade relations and their activities in Assyrian Empire.The expansion of the borders of the Assyrian Empire as a result of its continuous wars during the modern Assyrian period (911-612 BC) was that the need for the Assyrians to know the ships appeared. The expansion reached its peaks in the seventh and sixth century B.C. from the borders of Iran (newly) to the southeast at the Arabian Gulf, and to the coasts of the Mediterranean Sea in the west, as well as Egypt. This expansion led to the Assyrians colliding militarily with the people who lived in those areas separated by the waters of rivers and seas, and these natural phenomena were an impediment to the progress of the Assyrian military sectors, especially in the flood season, which The Assyrians paid attention to water transport, the most important of which was ships.In light of the above, the research has been divided into three axes:First: A historical introduction to the origin and importance of ships.Second: The sources of information about ships.Third: Assyrian ships, a study in the light of cuneiform texts.Key words: Assyria, ships, the modern Assyrian era, cuneiform texts, and water transportation.

Abstract The fourth, fifth, and sixth editions of the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment (AMA Guides) use left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) as a variable to determine impairment caused by hypertensive disease. The issue of LVH, as assessed echocardiographically, is a prime example of medical science being at odds with legal jurisprudence. Some legislatures have allowed any cause of LVH in a hypertensive individual to be an allowed manifestation of hypertensive changes. This situation has arisen because a physician can never say that no component of LVH was not caused by the hypertension, even in an individual with a cardiomyopathy or valvular disorder. This article recommends that evaluators consider three points: if the cause of the LVH is hypertension, is the examinee at maximum medical improvement; is the LVH caused by hypertension or another factor; and, if apportionment is allowed, then a careful analysis of the risk factors for other disorders associated with LVH is necessary. The left ventricular mass index should be present in the echocardiogram report and can guide the interpretation of the alleged LVH; if not present, it should be requested because it facilitates a more accurate analysis. Further, if the cause of the LVH is more likely independent of the hypertension, then careful reasoning and an explanation should be included in the impairment report. If hypertension is only a partial cause, a reasoned analysis and clear explanation of the apportionment are required.
