The paper is timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the birth of Valery M. Mokienko, Doctor of Letters, Professor of Slavic Philology, Philology Department, St Petersburg State University, Honorary Chairman of the Phraseological Commission of the International Committee of Slavists. The paper reviews focal areas of the scholars research, lists his academic interests, the main of those being phraseology and phraseography. V.M. Mokienko proposed to detect dynamic interactions of contradictory properties of the phraseological system, to reveal the mechanism of phrase formation involving broad genetic and typological parallels to determine the nature of a phraseological unit. The method of structural and semantic modeling based on a detailed comparison of dialectal, Slavic and non-Slavic European idiomacy is the basis of modern theoretical and practical studies of the scientists followers. The trilogy of dictionaries edited by V.M. Mokienko distinguishes precise certification of units, references to synonymous turns, which makes it easier for the reader to navigate in the huge source material, outlines the parameters of the phraseological space close to the certified expression, and makes it possible to show the wealth of images of folk speech conveying the same semantics.

(Comp.), Moskva: TSentr tipologii i semiotiki fol’klora RGGU 2013, pp. 472The volume under discussion, entitled Мифологические модели и ритуальное поведение в советском и постсоветском пространстве, contains lectures that were delivered during a conference organized by the Centre for Typology and Semiotics of Folklore Studies of the Russian State University for the Humanities in September 2013. In this volume, based on rich source material, which has been shown from different perspectives, the following issues were discussed: visional transformation, celebrating of new rites, creating new rituals, magical practices and leaders’ images.

Round table summary. In January 2019, the Faculty of Philosophy of the Lomonosov Moscow State University held the round table “Problems of Consciousness: Research Opportunities.” It was dedicated to problems of interdisciplinary studies of consciousness. Many famous Russian specialists whose academic interests include consciousness, brain and mind took part in this event: K.V. Anokhin, D.I. Dubrovsky, T.V. Chernigovskaya, M.A. Piradov, A.A. Potapov, V.Y. Sergin, V.V. Vasil’ev, Z.A. Zorina and others. At the round table, the following problems were discussed: the specificity of consciousness problem, its relevance in various academic disciplines, contemporary research possibilities for consciousness studies to solve the problems that specialists actually face. Much attention was paid to the problems of neurobiology, empirical research of consciousness. Nonetheless, participants showed in their speeches that the problem of consciousness is also a philosophical problem. Hence, it requires thoughtful consideration of philosophers. Participants decided that for progress in solving this problem researchers from various (not only natural) disciplines have to cooperate.

These are brief memoirs dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Department of Ethnography / Ethnology, Faculty of History, Lomonosov Moscow State University. The author’s personal impressions date back to 1968-1974, when a whole galaxy of talented ethnographers worked under the leadership of the outstanding scientist S. A. Tokarev. They trained a large number of specialists who mastered the basics of scientific work, field research methods and continued the work of their wonderful teachers in various parts of the country. This testifies to the continuity of traditions in the field of ethnologica science and its relevance up to the present.

The paper is devoted to the issues related to the development and use of automated assessment systems for programming tasks. The work on automated testing of programming tasks had been held in Novosibirsk State University since 1998. It was created several generations of systems of this type. The first program of about 1,000 lines was written in Perl. Currently, the automated system, named NSUts, is used in the programming contests and in the educational process. As a result of work in it, as well as acquaintance with other similar systems, both Russian and foreign, it was possible to formulate requirements for software development of this kind, to analyze the difference between the systems for testing competitions and training support systems. The article also provides an overview of the existing systems for checking tasks on programming, an analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of each of these systems, and a detailed comparison of the NSUts system with the Yandex Contest system. The current state of the NSUts system architecture is described. Much attention is paid to the practice of using the system in the educational process, statistics and graphs of students' progress of students studying with the help of this system are given. The article describes the analysis of the experience of using the NSUts system and outlines the prospects for its development.

The Institute of history, archeology and ethnography of Daghestan science center of Russian academy of sciences has its own tradition to congratulate scientist with their anniversaries. The main biographical events of Gadjikurban Ibragimovich Kakagasanov, who is a famous Daghestan scientist, historian and archivist, were overviewed in the article. Author also writes about his main achievements in science and his way from being a student of Moscow state university of history and archive to becoming a director of science subdivision of leading scientific research institute of Dagyestan science center of Russian academy of sciences. Kakagasanov’s name is well known not only in science community, but also in wide circle of readers due to his scientific and documental publications dedicated to the newest period of Daghestan history, historiographical and source studies researches that were made under his guidance and also his participation in different science events’ organization and holding and science knowledge’s popularization.

The author of article considers foundation, development and prospect questions of Moscow State University of Culture and Arts - one of the leading universities in Russia, which is educated specialists for cultural sphere, library work, social and cultural activities, folk culture and arts. The University was established on July 10, 1930 as Moscow Library Institute. In 1964 the Institute was reorganized into Moscow State Institute of Culture due to the gradual increase of educational profile, and in 1994 - into the University. Since its foundation in 1930 the University has given diplomas to more than 80 000 specialists in the sphere of culture and arts. About 12 000 students from all regions of Russia and from 35 countries of the world study at the University now. The university develops according to modern Russian and world tendencies in education process.
