This article would like to discuss the work of the poetic Al-Qur’an translation in Acehnese, authored by Tgk. H. Mahjiddin Jusuf (1918-1994). This poetic translation firstly began in 1955 when the translator was in jail (due to the political reason), then it was temporarily stopped for some reasons, until it finally was completed in 1988, with the original translated text written using the Arabic Jawoe script (Malay). Regardless of its contoversy or even still be debated about the translation of the Al-Qur'an poetically, as shown through the work of translation of the Qur'an that had existed in Indonesia before, the work of Tgk. H. Mahjiddin Jusuf which written in Acehnese, has helped maintaining the depth of the Acehnese language. Through library studies, this article would like further elaborates on the variety and style of poetic translation of the Al-Qur'an in the Acehnese language, the translation model adopted and its contribution to the translation of the Al-Qur'an in the archipelago. This article concludes that although this translation uses tarjamah tafsīriyyah model with ijmālī pattern, such method is more appropriate, because it is easyly to understand especially for Acehnese readers, because it has adapted to the socio-cultural nature of Acehnese society.ABSTRAKArtikel ini mendiskusikan karya terjemahan Al-Qur’an bebas bersajak dalam bahasa Aceh yang ditulis oleh Tgk. H. Mahjiddin Jusuf (1918-1994). Terjemahan berbentuk sajak ini mulai digarap sejak tahun 1955 ketika penulisnya berada dalam tahanan (akibat politik), kemudian sempat terhenti beberapa lama pengerjaannya, hingga akhirnya berhasil dirampungkan secara lengkap pada tahun 1988, dengan naskah asli penerjemahan yang ditulis menggunakan aksara Arab Jawoe (Melayu) dalam bentuk bait bersajak. Sekalipun penerjemahan Al-Qur’an secara puitis atau bersajak tidak lepas dari silang pendapat dan kontroversi sebagaimana karya terjemahan Al-Qur’an puitis yang pernah ada di Indonesia sebelumnya, namun karya Tgk. H. Mahjiddin Jusuf yang ditulis dalam bahasa Aceh ini telah membantu merawat kedalaman bahasa Aceh. Melalui penelusuran studi kepustakaan, artikel ini mengelaborasi lebih jauh ragam dan langgam penerjemahan Al-Qur’an bersajak dalam bahasa Aceh, model penerjemahan yang ditempuh serta kontribusinya dalam penerjemahan Al-Qur’an di nusantara. Artikel ini berkesimpulan bahwa sekalipun penerjemahan ini memakai pola tarjamah tafsīriyyah secara ijmālī, metode demikian dirasa lebih tepat, karena mudah memahamkannya kepada pembaca berbahasa Aceh, sebab sedikit banyak mengalami penyesuaian dengan sosio-kultural masyarakat Aceh.

La renovada defensa que el Tribunal de Justicia hace del concepto de autonomía contrasta con los impulsos políticos que intentan abrir la jurisdicción de la Unión, sea prolongando su intervención hacia fuera, o reconociendo competencia a tribunales ajenos a ella. Dada esta situación paradójica, mi intención es reflexionar sobre el vínculo entre autonomía del ordenamiento y funciones esenciales del sistema jurisdiccional. Para ello, en el epígrafe II, al modo de un intento de arqueología jurídica, me planteo cuáles han sido las razones constitucionales que condujeron a diseñar ese vínculo que el Tribunal de Justicia ha subrayado. En mi opinión, tres divisiones esenciales —la funcional, la institucional y la de parámetros de validez— dan sentido al modelo de cooperación vigilada que sostendría la autonomía del ordenamiento. A continuación, en el epígrafe III, intento mostrar las debilidades actuales del sistema jurisdiccional de la Unión. En primer lugar, pese a que el Tribunal de Justicia hace causa firme de la autonomía, la realidad y las propias exigencias de los Tratados constitutivos llaman a su complemento por otros actores. La pregunta esencial es saber qué función cumplen tales actores en esa labor de adición. En segundo lugar, la tutela que ofrece el sistema jurisdiccional de la Unión es hoy doblemente asimétrica, de un lado porque no extiende la garantía de la tutela judicial mediante recursos; de otro, porque opera de forma distinta si controla actos del Estado o de los particulares. Finalmente, intentaré defender que estos dos flancos abiertos —una autonomía necesitada de complemento y una tutela asimétrica— explican al menos la razón política encaminada a abrir la jurisdicción más allá de la Unión.The European Court’s renew vindication of the autonomy of the European Union Legal order opposes against the political impulses directed to open the judicial power of the Union, taking its jurisdiction beyond the Union or giving jurisdiction to court outside the Unión. Do to this paradox, I try to analyze the link between autonomy of the legal order and indispensable tasks of the judicial power of the Unión. In title II, in an effort of juridical archeology, I wonder which have been the constitutional reasons that moved to the link mentioned. In my opinion three fundamental divisions —functional, institutional and validity divisions— justify the jurisdictional model of vigilant cooperation that build the autonomy of the legal order. In title III, I try to show the weakness of this model. Firstly, although the European Court holds strong on autonomy, reality and the constitutive Treaties call for a complement. The essential question is to know what function develop several actors. Secondly, the protection offered by the judicial power of the Union is asymmetric in a double sense: it does not extend the protection through a system of appeals and it works in a different way attending to state or private origin of the wrong. Finally, I try to defend that those two asymmetries explain the political reason towards the opening of the judicial power of the Union.

This article tries to track genealogy of the Islamic revolutionary paradigm of thought in NU and its various possibilities have arisen. Based on the library studies using the analytical discourse approach, the result revealed that the genealogy of the Islamic paradigm of NU was born due to the internal and external dialectics bridged by multi-epistemology. Based on the 'political reconciliation' event which is called 'returning to khittah 1926' in Situbondo in 1984, NU experienced a shift orientation, not only in the political sphere but also paradigmatically. Hereby, there was social-intellectual mobility marked by the proliferation of social and intellectual discourse among NU’s young generation. The dominance of this activity leading to revolutionary movement in the field of NU’s Islamic paradigm: Aswaja's theology which was originally understood as a doctrine became a thinking methodology (manhaj alfikr); expansion of the legal institution's methodology, from qauly to manhajy; and shifting political struggle, from structural political arena to cultural politics. This discourse became massive among Nu’s young generation caused by the support of Abdurrahman Wahid, the ideal figure known as a locomotive of the NU cultural movement.

The original Javanese culture of the communities in Java has been running for decades, meaning that this culture has been very rich in elements of universal culture such as the system of social organization, knowledge, arts, religion, and language. Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Palace plays an essential role as the center and cultural resource owned by the city of Yogyakarta; one of the areas that are still famous for its cultural guardians, traditions, and behaviors of an ancestor. This research used qualitative methods to obtain data through literature reviews and interviews. Literature review and interview results then became analytical material and adapted to the existing frame of thought as a result of the library studies conducted at the beginning. Then after the analysis process was completed, the results were obtained. This research revealed that the Javanese culture in the people of Yogyakarta affected the political ideology because when speaking about Javanese culture, three aspects cannot be separated in the Javanese community, especially Yogyakarta, Javanese culture, Belief, and religion. A contest will always be syncretism, cannot be constantly intact on assimilation, and acculturation is even alienated (to be drawn). As long as the Javanese people still exist, the Javanese culture will remain alive and develop when the relics of letters, dialectics, and cultures still exist.

This chapter discusses Edmund Burke and the British Empire. The first section discusses the background of the concept of empire as it was available to Burke and his contemporaries. The second section examines the ways in which the rise of political economy affected the perception of the empire, and in particular the tension between the political reason of the state and what were increasingly claimed to be imperatives of the international trading system. The last section evaluates Burke’s position on this controversial nexus between the empire and political economy.
