Difficulties during surgery are uncommon situations in appendectomy. For granulomatous appendicitis, literature is insufficient about surgical findings. The procedure of a 17-year-old male patient was a struggle due to adhesions. I thought a surgeon could expect granulomatous diseases by evaluating the macroscopic appearance of the appendix during surgical procedure.

Rhinosporidiosis is a chronic mucocutaneous granulomatous disease caused by Rhinosporidium seeberi, involving primarily the nose and nasopharynx. Very rarely, the disease can affect the lacrimal sac. Here we report a 35-year-old male patient who had rhinosporidial involvement of the nose 5 years ago, for which he underwent endoscopic nasal surgery. Five years after the excision of the nasal mass, he presented with lacrimal sac involvement. The clinical presentation and the management of lacrimal sac rhinosporidiosis are discussed here.

Introduction: The objectives of this study were to confirm the diagnosis of clinically suspected dermal granuloma- tous diseases by histopathological examination and by routine and special stains as well as to study the incidence of various types of dermal granulomas. Materials And Methods: This study was conducted at the Department of Pathology in collaboration with De- partment of Skin and Venereal disease. A total of 90 cases from outdoor patient department of skin and venereal disease, which were clinically diagnosed as suspected dermal granulomatous diseases, were taken as the study population. Results: In our study, we found that leprosy had the highest incidence (50%), followed by cutaneous tuberculosis (30%) among all dermal granulomatous diseases like syphilis, fungal, granuloma annulare, foreign body, actino- mycosis, and sarcoidosis. Dermal granulomas were most common in middle age between 21 and 40 years of age. Conclusion: Histopathology played an important role in the final diagnosis of dermal granulomatous lesions. Most common dermal granulomatous disease was leprosy, followed by cutaneous tuberculosis.

We can correlate stricture of the urethra with Mutra marga sankoch or Mutrotsanga which is a common disease of the urinary tract. Gradual urethral dilatation, transurethral resection of urethral stricture, urethrotomy, urethroplasty etc. are examples of some common surgeries which are practised today to cure stricture of urethra. But recurrence rate is high after all these surgeries while the cure rate is low. Many years ago, in our ancient texts, it is mentioned that uttarbasti can be beneficial for the management of such types of urinary tract diseases. In the present case, a 45-year-old male patient came to the OPD of Shri Krishna Government Ayurvedic College &Hospital, Kurukshetra, Haryana. He had complaints of retention of urine, painful micturition, straining & dribbling of urine for the last 5- 6 years and also patient had to catheterize himself daily in the morning for micturition. So, after taking proper history, clinical examination and investigations (retrograde urethrography) the case was diagnosed as anterior ure- thral stricture and the patient was treated with Ayurvedic para surgical procedure i.e., Tila taila, madhu & lavana uttarbasti to cure stricture of urethra. We got significant results after this study. Hence, through this article, we tried our best to re-establishes the effect of Tila taila, madhu & saindhava lavana uttarbasti in males for the stricture of the urethra. Keywords: Urethral stricture, Mutramarga sankoch, Mutrotsanga, Uttarbasti, Madhu, Saindhava lavana.

Oral mucoceles are small-size, benign minor salivary gland pathologies. The most frequent localizations of these lesions are the lower lip mucosa. However, in some cases, they grow to an unusual size and hinder the preliminary diagnosis of mucocele. The purpose of this article is to report a case of a large oral mucocele with a diameter of 3.5 cm on the buccal mucosa of a 43-years-old male patient. The surgical procedure was carried out for a complete removal of the lesion.

Sarcoidosis is a multisystem granulomatous disease of unknown origin. The lung is the most commonly affected organ, but skin is frequently involved. Skin involvement is important because it may be the presenting sign of systemic sarcoidosis. Here, we report a rare case of sarcoidosis with systemic manifestations, in a 39 year old male patient.

Sarcoidosis is a systemic granulomatous disease of unknown origin. It is manifested pathologically by the presence of noncaseating granulomas containing multinucleated giant cells, although other granulomatous diseases may produce identical findings. The vast majority of patients have thoracic sarcoidosis with bilateral hilar lymphadenopathy and/or bronchonodular pulmonary infiltrates on chest radiographs. About 40% of patients have extrathoracic disease involving the eye, skin, lymph nodes, liver, spleen, heart, and musculoskeletal or nervous system. Here we report a case of sarcoidosis who presented only with generalized lymphadenopathy.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.3329/jom.v15i1.19874 J Medicine 2014; 15: 58-60

Abstract The Avar period cemetery of Nuštar, situated in continental Croatia, is dated to the 8th and the beginning of the 9th century. Rescue archaeological excavation yielded 196 burials. During analysis of human skeletal remains, an individual with a large cranial lesion caused by trepanation was found. Trepanation is a surgical procedure performed on the skull in order to remove a fragment of the bone using a sharp instrument or drill. It has been practiced in various regions since the prehistoric period for both medical and ritual reasons. The aim of this paper is to provide a description of the observed lesion based on macroscopic appearance accompanied by radiography, computed tomography scanning and 3D optical scanning. Furthermore, possible cause and employed technique are taken into consideration, as well as cultural and historical implications of the case.
