The study tries to determine the association among corporate strategy, social structure and firm performance. In this regard, the monetary reports of 78 companies listed in Karachi Stock Exchange since 2007 to 2014 were scrutinized. In this research, firm strategy (sales growth, liquidity) and capital structure (debt ratio) were used as sovereign variables, and firm performance (return on equity, return on assets, free cash flow for the firm, free cash flow per share) were functional and are used as dependent variables, so to study the affiliation between corporate strategy, capital structure and firm performance within a 8-years period from 2007 to 2014. Secondary data has been used to test the hypotheses; single variable linear regression method was used and their significance was evaluated using Statistics T (t-test) and F (Fisher). The study results indicate that there is a significant positive relationship between sales growth variables and two types (among four types) of performance criteria in the study, namely return on equity and return on assets. And there is a positive significant relationship between firm liquidity and three criteria of firm's performance in the study namely return on equity, free cash flow per share and return on assets. Also, debt ratio has a positive significant relationship with free cash flow for firm and a negative significant relationship with return on assets.

This paper aims to empirically investigate the impact of capital structure choice on the firm performance of the firms listed under the Dhaka Stock Exchange of Bangladesh. Multiple regression has been employed in this research to determine the relationship between the capital structure and the firm’s financial performance. Three ratios of financial performance, i.e., return on assets, return on equity, and gross margin, have been used as a sample of non-financial Bangladeshi companies, selected from 2010 to 2015. The study records numerous findings. First, the result shows a significant negative influence of long-term debt (LTD) and total debt (TTD) on firm financial performance measured by return on assets (ROA), but no significant relationship is found between short-term debt (STD) and this measure of firm’s financial performance. Moreover, the research found that there is no significant effect of short-term debt, long-term debt and total debt on the firm financial performance measured by return on equity (ROE). Finally, the result shows that a significant negative influence of short-term debt and total debt on firm performance measured by GM, but no significant relationship was found between long-term debt and financial performance. In general terms, the results of this study may suggest that capital structure has a negative influence on firms’ financial performance in Bangladesh.

Purpose: The basic aim of this study is to investigate how capital structure influences the performance of firms from textile sector listed at Pakistan Stock Exchange, taking liquidity of the firms as a moderator. Methodology: Data of 30 listed textile firms is taken from their financial statementsfor a period of ten years from 2007 to 2016.Analysis has been conducted using the Ordinary least square (OLS) regression. Two measures of capital structure (debt ratio and debt-to-equity ratio) have been used to find out its impact on three performance measures (return on assets, return on equity, and earnings per share). Findings: The variable, total debt ratio does not have any significant effect on all the three firm performance measures (return on asset, return on equity and earnings per share). Debt-to-equity ratio variable also does not have a significant impact on two firm performance measures (ROA and ROE). It however has a significant, negative impact on EPS. In case of liquidity as a moderator, it is found that liquidity acts as the significant moderator between the debt ratio and return on assets whereas liquidity factor is significant in case of relation between debt –to-equity variable and two performance variables return on assets and earnings per share.. Practical implications: Practically this study is important from managerial perspective as the appropriate decision for choosing a level of capital structure vis-à-vis total assets and total equity is essential for the better performance of the firms.

This research is aimed to investigate determinant factors of firm performance especially listed companies at Indonesia Stock Exchange, using Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), and Market-to-Book Value Ratio (MBR) as dependent variables. Determinants tested are current assets, leverage, cash flow, sales growth, investment in fixed assets, company characteristics, and income tax expense, with liquidity as control. Panel data regression is applied using secondary data in this study, with sample of companies with complete and audited annual financial statements for 2012-2017 period which are listed at Indonesia Stock Exchange. The results revealed current assets have significant negative effect on firm performance, while cash flow from operating activities, sales growth, and income tax expense significantly influence firm performance in positive. However leverage, investing and financing cash flow insignificantly influence firm performance. Firm characteristic overall has insignificant effect towards ROA and MBR but significantly determine ROE.

The corporate governance is a much discussed issue among the corporate and regulators. With the time and advancement in information and technology, the methods of investigations in the field have also changed for the better and accurate outputs. The study primarily investigates the nature and effect of good corporate governance on the firm’s financial performance using data mining analysis. For the investigation the board meetings and board remunerations are taken as the components of corporate governance whereas firm performance is a depended variable which is measured by return on capital employed (ROCE), return on equity (ROE), and return on assets (ROA). The study results are suggestive of a positive and significant relationship between board meetings and the firm performance whereas the board remuneration has no impact over the firm performance.

Capital structure is one of the fundamental aspects to the success of Deposit Taking Savings (DPS) and Credit Cooperative Societies (CCS) as it influences the realization of its objectives and goals. The study intended to determine the effect of two capital structure determinants; liquidity and dividend payout, on financial performance as measured by Return on Assets of DPS and CCS, in Kenya. The study was grounded on the Pecking order and  Free cash flow capital structure theories. The study utilized a mixed research design using primary and secondary data for the period 2013 to 2017. The population of the study was 174 DPS and CCS. Stratified and purposive sampling technique was employed. Descriptive statistics and a regression model were used to analyze the data. Results revealed that liquidity and dividend pay-out had a significant and positive effect on the financial performance of DPS and CCS in Kenya. The study concluded that liquidity and dividend pay-out play a significant role in the financial performance of DPS and CCS. The study recommends having in place an Assets and Liabilities  Committee in each DPS and CCS that would help manage the assets and liabilities of the institution, ensuring adequate liquidity and cash flow management. Having in place a robust dividend policy that addresses; the basis of the rate of payments and activities that would require funding of which internally generated funds by way of dividend retention, is also critical.
