This chapter seeks to identify the set of conditions under which the mirroring hypothesis holds, proposing that modular product architecture leads to organizational modularity (i.e., supplier disintegration). The contradictory results on the mirroring hypothesis in the extant literature call for a more holistic analysis of the issue. To this end, this chapter develops a multi-objective mathematical model, allowing for the simultaneous examination of potentially influential factors, including those claimed to be neglected by the mirroring hypothesis. The findings reveal that modular product architecture does not necessarily lead to supplier disintegration, but that its effect is contingent on a firm's priorities.

The Khanty writer Maria Kuzminichna Vagatova (Voldina) put into her fairy tales not only moral and ethical guidelines for the younger generation: what is good and evil, the need to respect nature and animals, but also the cultural layer of the indigenous people of the North, which consists of mythological motives. The tales of Maria Vagatova are studied in the national schools of Khanty-Yugra within the framework of the subject Native (Khanty) Literature, due to which students absorb a conscientious appeal to the world around them from childhood, and also study a significant part of Khanty mythology, which has not disappeared under the influence of modernity and forms the outlook of those who still honor the traditions of their ancestors. The relevance of this topic lies in its poor study. When looking for the necessary information, it was noticed that most often when considering the work of Maria Vagatova, researchers turn to her poetry, and not to fairy tales, and mostly in the aspect of comparison with the works of other Khanty writers. This explains the theoretical significance of this article. The practical significance implies the possible use of the analysis of mythological motives in the fairy tales of Maria Vagatova in the educational activities of national schools. The main content of the work is based on the analysis of mythological motives in the fairy tales of Maria Vagatova from the collection Tyoi, Tyoi: Hips-Vips, Hily and Aki Black Heart, Hare and Fox, Khlebushko, Bunny-Black Tail ... To identify these motives, elements of a system-holistic analysis of a work of art and a hermeneutic method were used.

This article analyzes the intermezzo by J. Brahms Op. 119 No.3 for determining the nonclassical trends within the structure of musical fabric and form-making principles in this composition. The research employs the method of holistic analysis, which implies examination of the peculiarities of harmony, texture uniqueness, thematic processes, and formative patterns in the intermezzo by J. Brahms Op. 119 No.3; the elements of comparative analysis (juxtaposition of the form-making principles in this composition and classical works, as well as of interpretation of the reprise of the three-part form in the intermezzo by Brahms Op. 119 No.3 and Nocturne by Chopin Op. 48 №1). The scientific novelty lies in revealing the nonclassical trends in the music of J. Brahms, namely homogeneity of the sound fabric, low degree of differentiation of relief and background in the texture, absence of the common forms of sound and passive fragments in musical form. The author determines the conceptual proximity of Brahms' principles of working with musical material with the method of interfusion of the object and space that gained popularity in painting of the early XX century. The acquired results allow concluding that in the intermezzo Op. 119 No.3, J. Brahms implements a number of nonclassical principles of working with musical material, which anticipate the discoveries of the composers of the Second Viennese School (in particular, Webern). The presented materials can be valuable for further study of the compositions of J. Brahms, various theoretical aspects of music of the turn of the XIX –XX centuries, as well as performance and pedagogical practice.

Immunoglobulin superantigens play an important role in the affinity purification of antibodies and underlie the microbiota-immune axis at mucosal areas Focussing on the Staphylococcal Protein A (SpA), Streptococcal Protein G (SpG), and the Finegoldia Protein L (PpL) that were previously thought to bind to only specific regions of human antibodies, a systematic and holistic analysis of the antibody regions using 63 antibody permutations involving six Vκ and seven VH region IgG1 revealed showed novel PpL-antibody interactions. While SpA and SpG showed relatively consistent interactions with the antibodies, our findings showed PpL binding to certain VH-Vκ2, 5 and 6 interactions had contribution by other antibody regions. The findings of this have implications on PpL-based affinity antibody purifications and antibody design as well as provides novel insights to PpL-based microbiota-immune axis effects.

Introduction. Klava Koka is one of the most popular performers on the modern Russian musical stage, and therefore it is of interest to analyze the motivational content of her work. We have established the key role of the motive of toxicity and abuse in Klava Koka’s songs. It manifests itself in the peculiarities of the interpersonal relations of the characters of the songs, as well as in their values and attitudes. Toxicity refers to the ability of a person or relationship to provoke emotional pain and the complete depletion of the resources of the partner of interaction. Abusive relationships in a broad sense are characterized by the controlling, coercive, threatening, humiliating and violent behavior of one of the partners. Although the perception of love as pain and suffering is a recurrent idea of Western pop music, in Klava Koka’s songs, this attitude to love acquires signs of toxicity and, in some cases, abusiveness. Aim and objectives. The aim of the article is to prove the dominant role of the motive of toxicity and abuse in Klava Koka’s songs. Material and methods. We have analyzed 26 songs written by Klava Koka herself or in co-authorship with the lyricists of the Black Star label. The main research methods are the method of holistic analysis of a work, as well as conceptual analysis. Results and discussion. The motive of toxicity and abuse in Klava Koka’s songs is manifested in the following features of the characters’ relationships and their values: metaphorization of love as pain and suffering, antagonism between partners in relationships, dominance / submission as a pattern of relationships, violence as an important component of relationships, dependence from a partner or from a relationship, intensification of love feelings by one of the partners. The fact that in all the songs that we have considered, the listed features are presented to certain degree, enables us to speak about the dominant role of the motive of toxicity and abuse in Klava Koka’s work. Conclusion. Toxicity and abuse tend to be romanticized in the singer’s lyrics, being presents as an integral part of “genuine” relationships and a manifestation of “true” love. The motive of toxicity and abuse is functioning as the main means of realization of the concepts of “love” and “pain” in Klava Koka’s songs, where the both concepts are linked into a single conceptual pair.

AbstractDisruption from the COVID-19 pandemic has caused major upheavals for manufacturing, and has severe implications for production networks, and the demand and supply chains underpinning manufacturing operations. This paper is the first of its kind to pull together research on both—the pandemic-related challenges and the management interventions in a manufacturing context. This systematic literature review reveals the frailty of supply chains and production networks in withstanding the pressures of lockdowns and other safety protocols, including product and workforce shortages. These, altogether, have led to closed facilities, reduced capacities, increased costs, and severe economic uncertainty for manufacturing businesses. In managing these challenges and stabilising their operations, manufacturers are urgently intervening by—investing in digital technologies, undertaking resource redistribution and repurposing, regionalizing and localizing, servitizing, and targeting policies that can help them survive in this altered economy. Based on holistic analysis of these challenges and interventions, this review proposes an extensive research agenda for future studies to pursue.

Antarctic notothenioid fishes are the classic example of vertebrate adaptive radiation in a marine environment. Notothenioids diversified from a single common ancestor ∼25 Mya to more than 140 species today, and they represent ∼90% of fish biomass on the continental shelf of Antarctica. As they diversified in the cold Southern Ocean, notothenioids evolved numerous traits, including osteopenia, anemia, cardiomegaly, dyslipidemia, and aglomerular kidneys, that are beneficial or tolerated in their environment but are pathological in humans. Thus, notothenioids are models for understanding adaptive radiations, physiological and biochemical adaptations to extreme environments, and genetic mechanisms of human disease. Since 2014, 16 notothenioid genomes have been published, which enable a first-pass holistic analysis of the notothenioid radiation and the genetic underpinnings of novel notothenioid traits. Here, we review the notothenioid radiation from a genomic perspective and integrate our insights with recent observations from other fish radiations. Expected final online publication date for the Annual Review of Animal Biosciences, Volume 10 is February 2022. Please see http://www.annualreviews.org/page/journal/pubdates for revised estimates.
