A new scale for the evaluation of feelings of guilt is described. Two types of guilt feeling were of potential interest: ‘delusional’ guilt or shame (experienced in relation to one's actions), and ‘affective’ guilt (a more general feeling of unworthiness). Reliability and validity analyses for the first (15–item) version of the scale were performed in three separate and contrasting clinical samples. The second and final (seven-item) version was tested in another sample of major depressives and in normal controls. The HRSD was used as a measure of severity throughout. The BDI and Widlöcher psychomotor retardation scale were also used as external criteria for the seven-item scale. Exploratory factor analysis of this sample yielded two factors – ‘cognitive/attitudinal’ and ‘mood/feeling’ – of which only the first correlated with scores for psychomotor retardation. It is suggested that these two factors represent two forms of guilt, but that only the former is related to a putative dopaminergic disorder. Guilt scores and measures of severity were not correlated. It is suggested that feelings of guilt should be considered as a behavioural marker for a subtype of depression.

Experiences of parents who care for sons or daughters with severe myalgic encephalomyelitis are rarely discussed within the literature. Narratives of parent–carers in Lost Voices from a Hidden Illness were analyzed using interpretative phenomenological analysis. This study aimed to give voices to those who care for individuals with myalgic encephalomyelitis and are often stigmatized and inform future research supporting parent–carers. Results included themes of identity change, guilt, feeling like outsiders, uncertainty, changing perceptions of time, coping mechanisms, and improvement/symptom management. Findings could inform the development of carer-focused interventions and provide vital information to health professionals about parent–carers’ lived experience.

The article examines the plot of guilt in refraction to the event of a dream from the early story of Fedor Dostoevsky “Mister Prokharchin” to “Brothers Karamazov”. The author of the article proceeds from the idea of the specific features of the writer’s work, characterized by the dynamics of comprehending the main problems for him and the relative stability of their figurative, motivational, plot-plot expression. It is emphasized that the development of the plot was determined by the increased in the 1840–1870s. public interest in the problems of the correlation of the general as a national and individual, the moral transformation of a person, in the peculiarities of folk life and the Russian national character. The constituent parts of the historical and cultural context of Dmitry Karamazov’s dream picture are commented: they determine the thematic structure of this dream, testify to the decisive concretization of the universal human image of “God’s people” (“Mister Prokharchin”) as national. The author of the article comes to the conclusion that in “Brothers Karamazov”, the writer’s reflections on the historical fate and role of the Russian people formed the basis for the epic reversal of the “plot of guilt”: feeling individual guilt, Dmitry Karamazov opens up to a feeling of compassion as a nationwide one.

There are an increased evidence of co-morbidity between pain, abnormal sensations and depression in heroin addict patients. Such conditions are usually treated by antidepressants, mood stabilizers and rarely by atypical antipsychotics.Investigation of heroin addict patients in post-abstinent state reviled that low mood, anxiety, tension and guilt feeling increased sensitivity toward pain, which mostly experienced as algetic, coenestetick and hypochondriacal sensations. Algetic symptoms highly correlated with psychopathology. Efficient treatment of psychopathological symptoms decreased pain. Atypical antipsychotic quetiapin monotherapy could be used for treating such conditions.

Results: The findings were presented through careful study of the research interview transcriptions, the main propositions, concepts, main categories, and finally, the core category in a long, precise, detailed, and conceptual process. Consequently, this study included 30 concepts, 13 main categories, and one core category, titled as "mother guilt feeling ".  Conclusion‌: The present study showed that although some women employed in the face of the challenges of employment in the mother-child relationship have used positive strategies that have had a positive effect such as "increasing child age and satisfaction". But there were more negative consequences for working mothers. Because they are faced with the duality of roles and responsibilities, working mothers also think that their absence may result in harm to their children when they are not involved with their child. Thus, in accordance with this process and the causal factors, the underlying and the confounding conditions, the phenomenon of " mother guilt feeling " is formed.
