Clinical Relevance The Monobond Etch & Prime seems to be an efficient option for adhesive cementation of ultrathin veneers and full crown ceramic with good properties after two years of clinical follow-up. SUMMARY The use of the self-etching ceramic primer combines the stages of acid conditioning and silanization in cementation procedures of ceramic restorations. The protocol is a simpler and safer alternative to the conventional protocol for surface treatment of silica-based ceramics. This case report describes the steps of an esthetic rehabilitation with ultrathin veneers and full crown based on lithium disilicate treated with a ceramic primer (Monobond Etch & Prime, Ivoclar Vivadent, Schaan, Liechtenstein). After two years of clinical follow-up, the restorations presented satisfactory esthetic and functional performance, color stability, surface and marginal integrity, and absence of cracks and debonding. More research is needed to investigate the clinical performance and longevity of the ceramic restorations treated with self-etching ceramic primers.

Clinical Relevance The teeth in this report were restored with a two-step self-etch adhesive system and a microhybrid resin composite. The teeth present with an excellent clinical performance and patient acceptance at the end of a six-year recall.

Introduction and Objective: Endodontically treated teeth commonly present extensive tissue loss, requiring the use intraradicular posts, which provide retention for a coronal rehabilitation. Cast post and cores (CPCs) have been traditionally used in cases of marked tooth tissue loss. Case report: This case report describes two cast post and cores and subsequent rehabilitation by metal ceramic crowns. The patient was followed-up at intervals of 12 and 24 months after the rehabilitation. The posts were cemented within the root canal with self-adhesive resin cement, in a way that guarantees a perfect sealing of the root and remains stable in the oral environment. Conclusion: Self-adhesive cements are a one-step material capable of providing additional chemical adhesion to the metal, creating a monoblock, quality not found in conventional resin cements, where the adhesion occurs only in the dentin-cement interface.

Clinical Relevance The restoration quality has decreased and the wear increased for two compomers placed in the occlusal surface of permanent posterior teeth after six years; however, the restorations were clinically acceptable at the end of the evaluation.

Clinical Relevance The marginal fit of all-ceramic restorations has an important influence on the clinical performance and lifetime of adhesively luted restorations. In proximal boxes, an average marginal gap of less than 100 μm is claimed. These clinical requirements are fulfilled by both processing procedures.

Clinical Relevance Porcelain laminate veneer restorations of tetracycline-stained teeth had sufficient longevity in vivo. But, in long-term clinical cases, re-exposure of the discolored cervical tooth surface is inevitable due to the gingival recession of aging.

This report describes the sequelae and subsequent management of a 7-year-old boy who failed to attend follow-up visits after a dental trauma and was initially managed with an active splint. The splint was maintained for 9 months, resulting in an anterior cross-bite, caused by retroclination of the upper incisors. The splint was removed and occlusal build-ups were placed on the molars. Nine months later, the form and shape of the upper dental arch were re-established and the cross-bite was corrected. Four years after the dental trauma, the injured teeth were asymptomatic and had continued root development. CPD/Clinical Relevance: Splints for dental trauma management should be passive and removed at the requisite time, to avoid the risk of the splint generating a malocclusion.

This case report describes a patient with discolored and fractured composite resin restorations on the anterior teeth in whom substitution was indicated. After wax-up and mock-up, the composite was removed and replaced with minimally invasive ceramic laminates. An established and predictable protocol was performed using resin cement. Minimally invasive ceramic restorations are increasingly being used to replace composite restorations. This treatment improves the occlusal and periodontal aspects during the planning and restorative phases, such as anterior guides, and laterality can be restored easily with ceramic laminates. In addition, the surface smoothness and contour of ceramic restorations do not affect the health of the surrounding periodontal tissues. Here we present the outcome after 18 months of clinical follow-up in a patient in whom composite resin restorations in the anterior teeth were replaced with minimally invasive ceramic laminates.

Clinical Relevance After 24 months of evaluation, the use of Filtek Flow as a liner under Filtek Z250 restorations did not improve the clinical performance of Class V restorations.
