Currently women hold a vital role both in business even in household. Given that the group has a very strategic position because this group becomes a determinant in decision making of household financial. Therefore, the financial literacy of women is very needed to be a guide in the financial decision making process so that the role of women can run properly and appropriately. This research aims to determine the influence of financial behavior, financial attitude, and financial knowledge on financial literacy of well educated women in Makassar city. This research is a quantitative research with descriptive and causal data analysis. Respondents studied in this research numbered to 100 well-educated women in Makassar. This study uses four variables, namely three independent variables and one dependent variable. The independent variable consists of financial behavior, financial attitude, and financial knowledge while the dependent variable is financial literacy . The results of this study indicate that the financial behavior is in the position of 73.74% and included in good category. Financial attitude has a percentage of 82.47% and included in good category. Financial knowledge has a percentage of 84.57% and included in excellent category. Financial literacy has a percentage of 78.52% and included in good category. The results of this research indicate that financial knowledge has a significant influence on financial literacy.

Numerous studies have found a positive relationship between financial literacy andfinancial experience. Typically, this relationship is interpreted as being a causal relationship,i.e. an increase in financial literacy leads to better financial decision making. However, asimple relationship cannot be interpreted in a causal way. In this paper, we show evidencefor a causal relationship running the opposite way, i.e. people with more financial experienceseem to acquire more financial knowledge and become more financially literate. Thisfinding has important implications as it suggests that programmes targeted at improvingfinancial literacy could be more effective if they incorporate experiential components.

The paper takes a critical view on the prevalent approaches to developing financial literacy programs. It has been shown that meta-analytical and review studies indicate low efficiency of financial literacy improvement programs: their effect on financial behavior is either statistically insignificant or statistically significant, but practically negligible. Among potential reasons of financial literacy programs low efficiency the role of behavioral factors in financial decision making and the impossibility of determining “financially literate” behavior from the perspective of an outside observer are considered. It is concluded that the currently dominant criteria for assessing financially competent behavior can be characterized either as procedural, within which not the consequences of financial decisions are considered, but how consciously they are taken, or as normative, within which the government differentiates the consumers attitudes into wrong and right. Both groups of criteria are based on a non-economic understanding of rationality.

This study investigates financial knowledge, behavior and attitude of individuals to gauge how the financial market evaluates an individual's financial capability and financial decision making. Higher financial knowledge increases the entry into sophisticated financial contracts and the understanding of contemporary featured new financial products as well as good financial decision making. Financial behavior also enhances the financial decision making of those individuals as well as the relationship between individuals and their behavior towards saving, investment, cash and credit. These effects are intensified by individuals' financial behavior, the level of relationship with investments, savings and the use of credit. This study found out that a deeper acquaintance of individuals on financial knowledge, attitude and behaviour results in positive consequences on their relations with financial services providers and in turn promotes to financial capability.

As an individual investor, it is incredible to have a successful performance return without financial knowledge. An organization's performance must be measured and analysed based on an adequate financial management system. In today's multifaceted financial scenery Financial Literacy is crucial as it does not only impact financial decisions at the business level but is also important for the country's development. Financial literacy has the importance of the backbone of society. The study adds a new mechanism of financial literacy. The main objective of this study is to determine further insight into the role of financial literacy on an individual's behaviour and attitude towards financial decision making. For analysis, the moderator impact of financial literacy on decision-making data of 100 individual investors has been collected from different banking sectors of Pakistan. The result of this study shows that financial literacy has a significant impact on financial decision making. This study delivers knowledge that can contribute to guiding coming studies, making policies, directors and instructors in their teaching.

This chapter highlights the importance of financial education, its link with financial decision-making process, comparative status of different countries, and efforts to improve current situation. Unfortunately, there is no standard definition for neither financial education nor measures to quantify it. Therefore, this chapter first aims to provide a comprehensive definition in order to explain how financial knowledge affects the decision-making process. Then, financial literacy measures from previous studies over different countries would be discussed to show financial illiteracy problem is global. Lastly, solutions and recommendations would be discussed at three different levels: younger people, individuals, and national strategies.

Financial knowledge is the main element of financial literacy, which is important for the sustainable development of individuals and society. Sustainability is a complex concept that spans many fields, including financial knowledge for all ages. Financial knowledge requires significant scientific research showing its impact on individuals and the economy, including non-cash payments. Consumer payment knowledge and its association with consumer financial behavior have long been a matter of widespread interest by researchers, but no in-depth, empirically based scientific research has been completed for Poland. The objective of this study was to examine factors associated with cashless payment behavior with an emphasis on the role of consumer financial knowledge. A total of 1100 interviews were carried out with Polish nationals aged 15 and above. The collected data were analyzed with the use of statistical methods, including analysis of variances (ANOVA), in order to examine consumers’ financial knowledge by basic economic and non-economic factors. Additionally, a data-mining method known as Random Forests was implemented for finding the variable importance in correlations between consumer financial knowledge and preferred methods of payment. The results revealed the diversity of factors influencing consumer behavior. Among the consumers’ personal traits, financial knowledge was one of the most important determinants of their payment choices. The results have implications for the design of payment processes. The results can be used by central banks to determine the directions of financial inclusion, as well as for stakeholders in the payments market.

Divorce dissolves couple households, who likely specialised in household financial decision-making tasks, into singles who need to learn new skills. Financial decisions will be particularly challenging for those newly separated people that are lacking knowledge and confidence. Given the substantive literature supporting the lack of financial knowledge of women in comparison to men, women are likely to be more disadvantaged by this aspect of divorce. We employ the HILDA Survey and find support for the role of financial literacy in improving wealth outcomes in divorce, particularly for women. We find that the positive impact is significant over the long term. This research contributes to knowledge of the role of financial education in building resilience to endure financial shocks. Financial decision making is complex and individuals either need to have the financial knowledge to make the correct decisions, or they need to ask for advice from experts. However, there are two key questions pertaining to financial advice. Firstly, do financially unsophisticated individuals know that they need advice, and do they therefore ask for assistance? Secondly, if they do ask for advice, are financially unsophisticated individuals able to assess the quality of the advice received? A growing body of research is focused on determining to what extent financial advice can act as a substitute for low levels of financial literacy. To date, studies have found conflicting results. This study used data from a national survey of South Africans to determine whether advice could substitute for low levels of financial sophistication. Additionally, the quality of advice in preretirement cash-out decisions was assessed using survey data collected at a university. The results indicate that professional financial advice complements financial literacy, while advice from other sources could substitute for low levels of financial sophistication. Furthermore, the study found that with respect to pre-retirement cash-out decisions, financially unsophisticated individuals followed advice from human resources departments or fund administrators and received quality advice.
