Rabindranth Tagore emerged as a rebel dramatist protesting against the prevalent social evils. In hiswritings he often criticised the evil customs and superstitious beliefs. In Tagore‟s plays there can alsobe found an undertone of spirituality. True to his liberal background, he was invariably againstreligious bigotry, fanaticism, and other malpractices arising out of a misconceived sense of religion. Infact, he unequivocally attacked worn out and useless conventions that hampered the progress ofmankind.The theme of self-discovery in relation to fellow-men, Maker (God) and the whole universeis the major idea of his play Achalayatan. The play drives home the idea that true religion is not theinstitutionalised religion but the religion of love the path of uprightness and compassion is truereligion‟s essence. Quintessence of religion consists in kindness and love towards all which in the playAchalayatan is personified by Panchak and Dadathakur and Acharya to great extent.

This collection seeks to position the journey as a persistent presence across cinema, and fundamental to its position within modernity. It addresses the innovative appeal of journey narratives from pre-cinema to new media and through documentary, fiction, and the spaces between. Its examples traverse different regions and cultures, including a sub-section dedicated to Eastern Europe, to illuminate questions of belonging, diaspora, displacement, identity and memory. It considers how the journey is a formal element determining art cinema and popular genres such as sci-fi, romance and horror alike, with a special focus on rethinking the road movie. Through this variety, the collection investigates the journey as a motif for self-discovery and encounter, an emblem of artistic and social transformation, a cause of dynamism or stasis and as evidence of autonomy and progress (or their lack). The essays in it thus document epochal changes from urbanisation, migration and war to tourism and shopping, and all aim to address the diversity of cinematic journeys through developing methodological frameworks appropriate to an understanding of the journey as simultaneously a political question, contextual element and a formal property.

A river flows serenely accepting all the miseries and happiness that it comes across its journey. A tree releases oxygen for human beings despite its inner plights. The sun is never tired of its duty and gives sunlight without any interruption. Why are all these elements of nature so tuned to? Education is knowledge. Knowledge comes from learning. Learning happens through experience. Familiarity is the master of life that shapes the individual. Every individual learns from nature. Nature teaches how to sustain, withdraw and advocate the prevailing situations. Some dwell into the deep realities of nature and nurture as ideal human beings. Life is a puzzle. How to solve it is a million dollar question that can never be answered so easily. The perception of life changes from individual to individual making them either physically powerful or feeble. Society is not made of only individuals. Along with individuals it has nature, emotions, spiritual powers and superstitious beliefs which bind them. Among them the most crucial and alarming is the emotions which are interrelated to others. Alone the emotional intelligence is going to guide the life of an individual. For everyone there is an inner self which makes them conscious of their deeds. The guiding force should always force the individual to choose the right path.  Writers are the powerful people who have rightly guided the society through their ingenious pen outs.  The present article is going to focus on how the major elements bound together are dominating the individual’s self through Rabindranath Tagore’s Home and the World (1916)

The article is devoted to the study of the dialect language worldview based on the material of «Smolensk ethnographic collection» by Vladimir Nikolayevich Dobrovolsky (1856–1920) who was an ethnographer, local historian,folklorist, and lexicographer. The article presents general characteristics of proverbs and sayings included in the collection, describes the ways of recording and distribution of the material collected by the researcher, provides examples of proverbs and sayings, dialogues and poems, sentences and superstitious beliefs that the ethnographer, for various reasons, included in the collection. There are not many works on the study of dialect phraseology, not all Russian territories have this priceless heritage like records of phraseological material compiled at the time of their live functioning. V. N. Dobrovolsky included these phraseological units into the collection after his trips to the Smolensk region. The article proves necessity and prospects of further study of ethnographic material and formulates tasks that modern researchers of V.N. Dobrovolsky’s heritage are facing. The description of phraseological material of the collection makes it possible not only recreate the everyday life of the Smolensk peasant of the XIXth century, his life and cultural attitudes, but also to identify the features of the Smolensk dialect language worldview, to characterize paroemiological units based on national and cultural stereotypes of the Smolensk region people’s behavior.

This paper examines current literature on edible insect consumption in western culture through an inductive lens, addressing environmental, nutritional, food security, anthropological and psychological aspects of the topic. Findings show that western aversion towards edible insects is deeply psychological and cultural, mostly ignoring the pleasure dimensions such as taste, texture and flavour. The nature of the problem appears to be predominantly social. Results suggest that a beneficial route of introducing edible insects into the western diet could be formed through a societal perspective. Tourism and hospitality can potentially play a big part in the edible insect development. For instance, food as a tourism product can attract visitors from different backgrounds whilst food consumption as a tourism experience subliminally promises an experience of novelty and potential newfound pleasure in food. Food as an integral part of various cultures and local heritages entails local dishes that can be considered ‘cultural artifacts’ and their consumption symbolises the consumption of ‘other’. Tourism experiences can expose an individual to lasting personal change, self-discovery and intellectual development. Hence, taking into consideration that acquiring new cultural knowledge increases openness to experience, it is possible that tourism could contribute to adopting the practice of insect consumption in the western cultural sphere.

Models of college student development have demonstrated an insensitivity to the differences that exist among various students, although such differences are very important in a world where student bodies in higher education are increasingly diverse. The authors present a model based on The Dakota Inventory of Student Orientations, which may be useful for program developmen that fosters reflection, self discovery, perspective-taking, and collaboration among students with varying orientations towards learning.

In this chapter, Emanuela Dalmasso examines the self-discovery and challenges that Western women face when conducting interviews in the MENA region. She looks at three main processes. First, how to cope with only being recognized as a woman and not as a scholar. In practice how to reset, kindly but firmly, the boundaries of the interaction when research participants focus on gender identity instead of the professional one. Second, how to recognize respondents’ various misperceptions of researcher’s identity and how to react to them. Finally, how to understand respondents’ intersectionality by inquiring into practices, not just discourses.
