Abstract: The wide implementation of the Learning Management System (LMS) in many Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Malaysia is seen as strong support for eLearning. Many LMS have been developed and adopted based on their features, usability and functionality that can offer benefits for the whole faculty of the institution. In Malaysia’s Polytechnic, LMS-CIDOS is a platform used for eLearning. A blended learning platform has become a need for many lecturers. This study investigated the perception of English Language lecturers in utilising the platform to implement eLearning in language classroom teaching. This study explored the issues and challenges in implementing the blended learning concept in Muadzam Shah Polytechnic. The lecturers’ perceptions in this study were measured using the Instructors LMS Acceptance Model proposed by Kamla and Hafedh (2010), which was modified from the original Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) by Davis (1989). Seven experienced English Language Lecturers were also interviewed using the semi-structured interview approach. Among the themes that emerged through the thematic analysis was the reliability of hardware, software & internet connection, design and content organisation, temporary record-keeping, complex system structure, inadequate time and work management, insufficient training and support from the institution, the need for teaching guide from the expert, lack of skills to encourage active communication using LMS-CIDOS and students’ lack of digital literacy skills. The findings of this study offer an expanded understanding of LMS acceptance among higher education instructors and a reference for related areas of study.    Keywords: Blended learning, e-learning, LMS-CIDOS.

: The utilization and integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have enabled the establishment of virtual learning environments that are capable of developing English language skills among Malaysian primary pupils. The Ministry of Education had invested a substantial amount of money on ICT as a part of education initiatives to ensure there will be no gap in the quality of education between urban and rural schools. However, the usage of ICT in rural schools could not meet expectations. This case study takes a closer look at the challenges faced by the ESL teachers and their attitude in integrating ICT in teaching and learning process based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). A total of 11 English teachers from 6 rural schools in Tatau, Sarawak were selected based on purposive sampling. Data were collected via questionnaire and calculated using percentage. It was then analyzed and a semi-structured interview was later conducted. The findings revealed that although teachers’ attitude toward ICT integration in the rural school was positive and it had enhanced their performance in teaching and learning, the actual use was the practicality of integrating ICT. The findings also revealed poor Internet connection, limited facilities and infrastructure were the challenges that had influenced their behavior in using ICT which put a limitation of its usage.

Supporting education and training initiatives has been identified as an effective way to address Sustainable Development Challenges. In this sense, e-learning stands out as one of the most viable alternatives considering its advantages in terms of resources, time management, and geographical location. Understanding the reasons that move users to adopt these technologies is critical for achieving the desired social objectives. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) provides valuable guidelines to identify the variables shaping users’ acceptance of innovations. The present study aims to validate a TAM extension designed for FARMER 4.0, an e-learning application in the agricultural sector. Findings suggest that content quality (CQ) is the primary determinant of farmers’ and agricultural entrepreneurs’ perception of the tool’s usefulness (PU). Furthermore, experience (EXP) and self-efficacy (SE) shape potential users’ perceptions about ease of use (PEOU). This study offers helpful insight into the design and development of e-learning applications in the farming sector and provides empirical evidence of TAM’s validity to assess technology acceptance.

This study applied the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in investigating teachers and students’ perceptions towards integrating the D2L system to enhance EFL teaching and learning processes at the English language department, Majmaah University. Two close-ended questionnaires were designed to measure the participants’ perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitudes, and intentions to use D2L. To understand participants’ perceptions and the obstacles that may hinder their use of D2L, an interview with open-ended questions were conducted. Data from the questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS. Qualitative analysis of the interview data showed the frequencies and proportions of participants’ responses. The findings indicated that the D2L system is totally accepted by teachers and students. Few problems along with their suggested solutions were grouped, presented and discussed.

<p>This research investigated the implementation of Flipped Approach in EFL classroom with the implementation of the E-learning platform. The participants were 42 sophomore English majors of Advanced Paragraph Writing class at Jember University. A within-subjects research design exposed all participants to have Writing Class by flipped learning and to use the E-learning platform. A one-shot survey design was used in this research by distributing two questionnaires “Perception of Flipped Learning Experience” and “Technology Acceptance Model” and doing the in-class observations as “Flipped Note” to collect the data. Data were analyzed quantitatively through SPSS 16.0 by applying the formula of Descriptive Statistics. The results of this research revealed that the implementation of the flipped approach in the classroom: (1) motivated the students in learning the materials, (2) enhanced the students’ knowledge, (3) and engaged them more in the learning tasks. They explained that the flipped approach gave them a new experience in language learning processes, in which they learned the materials before coming to the classroom so that they could criticize the materials. This way of learning aligns with the idea of student-centred learning. It is notable, however, that the students who did not learn the materials yet, could not criticize the materials and could not reach better outcomes in flipped classroom Moreover, the use of E-learning in the flipped classroom gave the students beneficial outcomes in the learning processes. Students revealed on the Technology Acceptance Model questionnaire that E-learning facilitates them properly, and they wanted to look forward to having E-learning in the future learning processes. Despite this finding, there remain limitation on the “server down” issue which needs to be straightened for more accessible E-learning among users.</p>

<p>Nowadays, the communicative teaching has been influenced by the development of technology. Becoming interactive teacher would not be enough if it is not supported by technology usage. Online learning in this case has been a powerful tool to help language learners during their learning progress.  It is said that that online instruction raised the good and average student’s reading performance and the performance of the lowest-performing as well. In listening and speaking, online learning can help students improve their pronunciaton as well the comprehension skill. Therefore, the following study is designed to find out the students’ perceptions towards the use of both online and face-to-face learning in listening and speaking classroom. There are 30 students from the 1<sup>st</sup> and 3<sup>rd</sup> semester of English Language and Culture Departement and they joined the class for 1 semester. Online learning platform used was taken from Cambridge Learning Management System integrated with Unlock 2 and Unlock 4 books as the source of learning. The result shows that most of the students see online learning as an alternative tool to help them during their learning process.<strong></strong></p><strong>Keywords: </strong>blended learning, online learning, face-to-face learning, language learning

Social commerce is the latest development in e-commerce to combine the power of online social networking with shopping. While the adoption of information technology is well studied, new theoretical development is needed to account for the specific characteristics of social commerce applications and their interactions with the user. This study examines factors that are associated with user acceptance of social shopping websites, which are sites designed specifically to support social interactions while users shop. This paper augments the Technology Acceptance Model with constructs that enhance the specificity of the model to the social shopping application of social commerce, including social comparison, social engagement, enjoyment as well as perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. The model was empirically tested, and the results provided strong support. Implications and directions for future research are also discussed.

This action research reports the experiences of introducing blended learning in the delivery of a post-graduate course to students in the university. The research conceptual framework is adapted from the technology acceptance model. The objective is to assess the level of acceptance of online learning and to document the attempts of the facilitator to create an independent, student-directed, and student-centered learning environment. This is the fourth quadrant learning typology. The research participants were a group of Masters in Education students who registered for the course “Strategies for Teaching and Learning.” Blended learning was introduced as a variant from the standard face-to-face instruction. This proved to be a valuable learning experience for both participants and lecturer. The perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use of online learning was not matched with the behavioral intention.

Higher Education in developing countries like Oman offers several unique circumstances that suggest curriculum delivery using Blended Learning is a rational choice. Research has been conducted to identify the factors affecting blended learning adoption and to determine whether the teaching and learning process is amenable to its adoption at HEIs in Oman. Based on the findings a model, Blended Learning Acceptance Model (BLAM), has been developed. It was inferred from the findings that there is a positive relationship among the demographic factors and behavioral Intention i.e. blended-learning adoption. In addition, the teaching and learning styles also had significant influence on adoption of blended learning. BLAM was primarily intended to be used at HEIs in Oman, but may also be used in other developing countries as a reference for the adoption of blended learning.
