Organizations are more and more interested in the Data Warehouse (DW) technology and data analytics to base their decision-making processes on scientific arguments instead of intuition. Despite the efforts invested, the DW design issue remains a great challenging research domain. The design quality of the DW depends on several aspects, as the requirement gathering. In this context, we propose a Natural Language (NL) based design approach, which is twofold, first, it facilitates the involvement of the decision-makers in the DW design process; indeed, NL can encourage the decision-makers to express their requirements as English-like sentences conform to NL-templates. Secondly, our approach aims to generate semi-automatically a DW schema from a set of requirements gathered as analytical queries compliant to the NL-templates. This design approach relies on (i) two easy-to-use NL-templates to specifying the analysis components, and (ii) a set of five heuristic rules for extracting the multidimensional concepts from the requirements. We demonstrate the feasibility of our approach by developing the prototype Natural Language Decisional Requirements to DW Schema (NLDR2DWS).

Objectives: The aim of our study was to describe approaches to health technology assessment (HTA) for medicines in the Slovak healthcare system and the related decision-making processes concerning reimbursement for medicines.Methods: Analysis of the Slovak legislative framework related to HTA and the reimbursement process for medicines was performed. Additionally, current practices of the Working Group for Pharmacoeconomics, Clinical Outcomes and Health Technology Assessment of the Slovak Ministry of Health were evaluated.Results: In Slovakia, there is always at least one treatment available in each determined therapeutic class with no co-payment. HTA is becoming an established method for the evaluation of cost-effectiveness of medicines in Slovak healthcare policy. The majority of decision makers within Slovakia support the idea of increased use of and the quality and efficiency of HTA methods. However, it is crucial to overcome several practical barriers to facilitate progress in the field of HTA in the Slovak Republic.Conclusions: It can be seen that participation within the European Network for Health Technology Assessment (EUnetHTA JA 2 and EUnetHTA JA 3 projects) has significantly improved the quality of the process of HTA in Slovakia. Further legislative activities in this field are required due to the approved strategy for European Union cooperation on HTA.

The implications of poor data quality bring negative effects for organisation through: increased operational costs, inefficient decision-making processes, lower performance and decreased both employee and customer satisfaction. Generally duplicated records can be handled by elimination or merge, but when duplicated records are occur in master table and used in a transaction the handling becomes not easy. This paper seeks to provide data deduplication solutions without losing the historical value of the transaction. To save all duplicated records which related to the transactions we use mapping table between Dimension table and facs table. Using this approach the quality of Dimension table increased since for this handling duplicated records process include enrichment process and delete dirty records and all dupplicated records which related to the transactions can be access completely in data warehouse, no transaction data loss.

Background. The past decades have seen advances in cancer treatments in terms of toxicity and side effects but progress in the treatment of advanced cancer has been modest. New drugs have emerged improving progression free survival but with little impact on overall survival, raising questions about the criteria on which to base decisions to grant marketing authorizations and about the authorization procedure itself. For decisions to be fair, transparent and accountable, it is necessary to consider the views of those with relevant expertise and experience. Methods. We conducted a Q-study to explore the views of a range of stakeholders in France, involving: 54 patients (18 months after diagnosis); 50 members of the general population; 27 oncologists; 19 healthcare decision makers; and 2 individuals from the pharmaceutical industry. Results. Three viewpoints emerged, focussing on different dimensions entitled: 1) ‘Quality of life (QoL), opportunity cost and participative democracy’; 2)‘QoL and patient-centeredness’; and 3) ‘Length of life’. Respondents from all groups were associated with each viewpoint, except for healthcare decision makers, who were only associated with the first one. Conclusion. Our results highlight plurality in the views of stakeholders, emphasize the need for transparency in decision making processes, and illustrate the importance of a re-evaluation of treatments for all 3 viewpoints. In the context of advanced cancer, our results suggest that QoL should be more prominent amongst authorization criteria, as it is a concern for 2 of the 3 viewpoints.

An overview of current debates and contemporary research devoted to the modeling of decision-making processes and their facilitation directs attention to the quality of priority ratios estimation through pairwise comparisons. At the core of the process are various approximation procedures for a pairwise comparison matrix which, in a sense, reflects preferences of decision-makers. Certainly, when judgments regarding these preferences are perfectly consistent (cardinally transitive), all approximation procedures coincide and the quality of the prioritization process is exemplary. However, human judgments are very rarely consistent, and thus the quality of priority ratios estimation may significantly vary. Obviously, the range of these variations depends on the applied approximation procedure for a pairwise comparison matrix. Although there are many approximation procedures which can be applied in the prioritization process, it has been promoted for many decades that only one should be applied and no others qualify. This paper suggests this opinion is a fallacy. Research results argue that a genuine, commonly applied approximation procedure for a pairwise comparison matrix may deteriorate the quality of priority ratios estimation. Thus, a number of solutions are also proposed which can improve the process of priority ratios estimation. In order to provide credible and high quality results, the problem is studied via a properly designed and coded seminal simulation algorithm, executed in Wolfram Mathematica 8.0.

An overview of current debates and contemporary research devoted to modeling decision making processes and their facilitation directs attention to techniques based on pairwise judgments. At the core of these techniques are various judgment consistency measures which, in a sense, control the prioritization process which leads to the establishment of decision makers’ unknown preferences. If judgments expressed by decision makers were perfectly consistent (cardinally transitive), all available prioritization techniques would deliver the same solution. However, human judgments are consistently inconsistent, as it were; thus the preference estimation quality significantly varies. The scale of these variations depends, among others, on the chosen consistency measure of pairwise judgments. That is why it seems important to examine relations among various consistency measures and the preferences estimation quality. This research reveals that there are consistency measures whose performance may confuse decision makers with the quality of their ranking outcome. Thus, it introduces a measure which is directly related to the quality of the preferences estimation process. The main problem of the research is studied via Monte Carlo simulations executed in Wolfram Mathematica Software. The research results argue that although the performance of examined consistency measures deviates from the exemplary ones in relation to the estimation quality of decision makers preferences, solutions proposed in this paper can significantly improve that quality.

On the 25 March 2017, leaders of the EU27 and European Union (EU) institutions ratified the Rome Declaration. They committed to invite citizens to discuss Europe’s future and to provide recommendations that would facilitate their decision-makers in shaping their national positions on Europe. In response, citizens’ dialogues on the future of Europe were instituted across the Union to facilitate public participation in shaping Europe. This paper explores Ireland’s set of dialogues which took place during 2018. Although event organisers in Ireland applied a relatively atypical and more systematic and participatory approach to their dialogues, evidence suggests that Irelands’ dialogues were reminiscent of a public relations exercise which showcased the country’s commitment to incorporating citizens into the debate on Europe while avoiding a deliberative design which could have strengthened the quality of public discourse and the quality of public recommendations. Due to an absence of elite political will for a deliberative process, as well as structural weaknesses in design, participants’ recommendations lacked any clear and prescriptive direction which could shape Ireland’s national position on the future of Europe in any constructive or meaningful way.

The dynamic characteristics of machine tool may directly affect its machining capability, which is analyzed to improve the machining precision and efficiency. In this paper, the 3D finite element model of main components turn-milling center is established by using ANSYS software, and then spindle box of turn-milling center is analyzed and optimized; the natural frequencies and vibration models are obtained after analysis, which guarantee the design requirement of the machining center. Therefore it is significant to improve the design quality of machining center by using FEA software in the design process.
