Abstract Background: Clients and therapists often have different perspectives on their therapeutic alliance (TA), affecting the process and outcome of therapy. The aim of the present meta-analysis was to assess the mean differences between clients’ and therapists’ estimations of TA among clients with severe disturbances, while focusing on two potential moderators: client diagnosis and alliance instrument. Method: We conducted a systematic literature search of studies examining both client perspective and therapist perspective on TA in psychotherapy among people with schizophrenia spectrum disorders, personality disorders, and substance misuse disorders. We then analyzed the data using a random-effects meta-analytic model with Cohen’s d standardized mean effect size. Results: Heterogeneity analyses (k = 22, Cohen’s d = −.46, 95% confidence interval = .31–1.1) produced a significant Q-statistic (Q = 94.96) and indicated high heterogeneity, suggesting that moderator analyses were appropriate. Conclusions: Our findings show that the type of TA instrument moderates the agreement on TA between client and therapist, but there was no indication of the client’s diagnosis moderating the effect. The agreement between client and therapist estimations seems to be dependent on the instrument that is used to assess TA. Specific setting-related instruments seem to result in higher agreement between clients’ and therapists’ estimations than do more general instruments that are applied to assess TA.

The growth of consumer-generated media (CGM) has promoted the popularity of online knowledge sharing and electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM). While the topic of eWOM has drawn much attention in academy and industry, little research has been published addressing the factors influencing eWOM intentions. Using a well-known restaurant review website, Openrice.com, as an example, this study explored three predictors to eWOM intentions in an integrative framework: experience factor (restaurant satisfaction), knowledge sharing factors (egoistic and altruistic needs), and technology acceptance factors (perceived usefulness and perceived ease-of-use). In addition, the moderating role of technology acceptance factors on the relationships between experience/knowledge sharing factors and eWOM intentions were examined. The results of the study indicate that (1) individuals’ altruistic needs trigger positive eWOM, (2) the perceived usefulness of the website has a significant main effect on eWOM intentions, and (3) the perceived usefulness significantly moderates the relationships between satisfaction/egoistic needs and eWOM intentions. The discussions also provide implications and managerial insights for research and practice.

Abstract: The main purpose of this study is to explore the moderating role of technological innovations on the relationship between operational performance towards patient satisfaction. The study presented the first step towards a systematic and theoretical approach in understanding the patient satisfaction. To achieve this, the theory synthesizing and model approaches are adopted. Self-administrated questionnaires will be used to gather data. The findings highlighted that healthcare establishments need to focus on technology-based services due to the decreasing level of satisfaction when population rises. In order to cope with this issue, technological based management system and equipment’s need to be introduced to enhance the operational performance of hospitals, which reduces the delays in treatment and ease the burden of practitioners. The strategy also brings improvement in patient care services and higher level of trust towards hospitals. The study also benefits scholars and open a new avenue for researchers and academia. The paper concluded that appropriate measuring protocols such as technology acceptance model (TAM) and technology readiness model (TRM) need to be incorporated to effectively gauge the effectiveness of the organizational performance and patient satisfaction in the light of technological innovation.
