Introduction. The process of physical education of students in higher education institutions is organized depending on the state of health, level of physical development and readiness of students. Research by many authors shows that the decline in physical activity of young people reduces their level of physical health and physical fitness. Therefore, it is important to study the self-assessment of physical development of students with different levels of physical fitness. The aim is to study the self-assessment of physical development of students of 1-3 courses with different levels of physical fitness in the process of forming individual physical culture. Materials and methods: analysis and generalization of data of scientific and methodical literature and sources of the Internet; sociological methods; psychological and diagnostic methods; pedagogical methods; methods of statistical data processing.

This study aimed at exploring the level of self-esteem and its relationship with the job ethics among employees and retirees in Jordan. To achieve the objective of study, two measures have been developed: the self-assessment scale; consisting of (38) items and the ethics of the job scale; consisting of (66) items, and were measured against five dimensions. Reliability and validity of both instruments have been obtained. Both scales have been administered on a sample of (747) workers and retirees from the directorates of Balqa Governorate: (605) workers and (142) retirees, who were selected using simple random method. The results of study showed that there was a medium level of self-esteem among workers and retirees in Jordan. There were statistically significant differences of (a≤0.05) in the levels of self-esteem among workers and retirees due to gender and in favor of females workers. There were also statistically significant differences of (a≤0.05) in the level of job ethics among workers and retirees in favor of females retirees. The results revealed a positive correlation of moral significance between the self-esteem and the ethics of job among workers and retirees in Jordan.

To evaluate the validity of self-report measures of physical fitness as substitutes for performance-based tests, self-reports and performance-based tests of physical fitness were compared. Subjects were a community-based sample of older adults (N = 624) aged 57 and over. The performance-based tests included endurance, flexibility, strength, balance, manual dexterity, and reaction time. The self-report evaluation assessed selected individual subcomponents of fitness and used both peers and absolute standards as reference. The results showed that compared to performance-based tests, the self-report items were more strongly interrelated and they less effectively evaluated the different subdomains of physical fitness. Corresponding performance-based tests and self-report items were weakly to moderately associated. All self-report items were related most strongly with the performance-based endurance test. Apparently. older people tend to estimate overall fitness, in which endurance plays an important part, rather than individual subcomponents of Illness. Therefore, the self-report measures have limited validity as predictors of performance-based physical fitness.

Purpose : considered self-appraisal adequacy of students’ physical abilities of students of pedagogical specialties involved in various forms of education. Material : the study was conducted with students of II and IV courses of the Faculty of Primary Education stationary and correspondence courses (total 120 people.). Used a technique of self-appraisal of physical development, technique of rapid assessment of physical health, motor tests. Results : set the direction for the development of the values of physical culture and self-improvement of physical abilities that depend on the adequacy of the self-assessment of their physical development and physical fitness. The comparison of subjective and objective indicators for assessing physical health and physical fitness of students. Highlighted significant differences in the direction of re-evaluation of their physical abilities in students of correspondence courses. Conclusions : It is recommended to use the self-appraisal methodology of physical development to determine the degree of objectivity of self-confidence, which determines the motivation for self-improvement.

Abstract Background In order to assess nursing students’ informatics competency, we need a comprehensive Korean version scale that reflects the important advances in nursing informatics and can make up for the lack of an existing measure. This study aimed to cross-culturally adapt the Self-Assessment of Nursing Informatics Competencies Scale (SANICS) into Korean (K-SANICS) and verify its validity and reliability with nursing students. Methods The design of this study was a methodological approach to translate and evaluate the Korean version tool (K-SANICS). A total of 254 nursing students at four universities in Korea completed a structured questionnaire including background characteristics and the K-SANICS. Reliability and validity of the 30-item K-SANICS were evaluated using Cronbach’s α, content validity, factor analysis, and contrasted groups approach. Results Cronbach’s α was .95. Exploratory factor analysis was performed to verify the scale’s construct validity, identifying 30 items across six categories: advanced skills for clinical informatics, basic application skills, basic computer skills, roles in nursing informatics, skills for clinical applications, and attitude toward computers in nursing. Conclusion The K-SANICS may be used as a reliable assessment tool of nursing students’ nursing informatics competencies. It is expected that the K-SANICS will contribute to establishing, operating, and evaluating nursing informatics curricula and also can be used in a clinical setting.
