A Methodology for Appropriate Testing When Data is Heterogeneous was originally published and copy written in the mid-1990s in Turbo Pascal and a 16-bit operating system.  While working on an ergonomic dissertation (Yearout, 1987), the author determined that the perceptual lighting preference data was heterogeneous and not normal.  Drs. Milliken and Johnson, the authors of Analysis of Messy Data Volume I: Designed Experiments (1989), advised that Satterthwaite’s Approximation with Bonferroni’s Adjustment to correct for pairwise error be used to analyze the heterogeneous data. This technique of applying linear combinations with adjusted degrees of freedom allowed the use of t-Table criteria to make group comparisons without using standard nonparametric techniques.  Thus data with unequal variances and unequal sample sizes could be analyzed without losing valuable information.  Variances to the 4th power were so large that they could not be reentered into basic calculators.  The solution was to develop an original software package which was written in Turbo Pascal on a 7 ¼ inch disk 16-bit operating system.  Current operating systems of 32 and 64 bits and more efficient programming languages have made the software obsolete and unusable. Using the old system could result either in many returns being incorrect or the system terminating.  The purpose of this research was to develop a spreadsheet algorithm with multiple interactive EXCEL worksheets that will efficiently apply Satterthwaite’s Approximation with Bonferroni’s Adjustment to solve the messy data problem.  To ensure that the pedagogy is accurate, the resulting package was successfully tested in the classroom with academically diverse students.  A comparison between this technique and EXCEL’s Add-Ins Analysis ToolPak for a t-test Two-Sample Assuming Unequal Variances was conducted using several different data sets.  The results of this comparison were that the EXCEL Add-Ins returned incorrect significant differences.  Engineers, ergonomists, psychologists, and social scientists will find the developed program very useful. A major benefit is that spreadsheets will continue to be current regardless of evolving operating systems’ status.

OpenStack is a cloud operating system that controls large pools of compute, storage, and networking resources throughout a data center. All of the above components are managed through a dashboard which gives administrators control while empowering their users to provision resources through a web interface. OpenStack lets users deploy virtual machines and other instances which handle different tasks for managing a cloud environment on the fly. It makes horizontal scaling easy, which means that tasks which benefit from running concurrently can easily serve more or less users on the fly by just spinning up more instances.

A vagrant is a freeware tool that facilitates to easily manage and configure multiple virtual machines. The main goal of its creation is to simplify the environment maintenance in a large project with multi technical tasks. It provides the better manageability and maintainability for the developers and prevents needless maintenance and improve the productivity for development using simple functions. Vagrant supports almost all main languages for the development, but it is written in the Ruby language. Vagrant was initially supported by Virtual Box, but the version 1.1 has the full vital support for VMware, KVM and other virtualization environment as well as for the server like Amazon EC2. It supports many programming languages such as C#, Python, PHP and JavaScript to enhance the project efficiency. Recently, version 1.6 may serve as a fully virtualized operating system due to the added support for Docker containers.

Our typical desktop file explorer applications are written in high-level programming languages and frameworks. Those apps are depending on the operating system. It can only operate on one operating system at a time. Windows&, for example, has My Computer, Windows 10 has This PC, Ubuntu has Files, and so on. Any web browser will not be able to operate this old file explorer desktop programme. This file explorer is a desktop application written in NW.js that runs on any platform. The application is created using Web-based programming languages. HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are examples of basic and straightforward languages. This programme is OS agnostic. As a result, it may operate on a variety of operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and MacOS. It cuts down on time spent on development and training. The cross-platform desktop programme has basic features such as file opening, copying, and pasting, directory navigation, showing the current directory path, and windowing functions such as maximise, minimise, and dismiss the window.

The present study aims to tap into the emotions of teaching staff and students in Spanish schools in the Region of Andalucía when they interact with ICT. The schools chosen for the study had a long-standing experience with ICT programs and a well-defined code of ICT best practices. A quantitative methodological design was used. The sample consisted of 18 schools, in which teachers’ and students' emotions were investigated through two questionnaires designed on a Likert scale. The results show that the most common emotions in the use of ICT in both groups are well-being and satisfaction and pride. A decrease in frustration levels is the least reported emotion. Likewise, some elements associated with the emotions of both teachers and students are identified. The conclusions highlight the need to give relevance to the emotions underlying the interaction with ICT in both teachers and students, if the goal is to improve educational processes mediated by ICT. Finally, the analysis reflects how emotions in the use of ICT in students are associated with factors similar to those that generate digital divide in terms of competition, such as gender, the number of electronic devices and Internet connection at home, among others.
