Wim Wenders’ Most Ambitious FilmUntil the End of the World by Wim Wenders was a large project. This essay discusses the slow process of the film’s creation, its distribution, its content and critical response, in order to point at failure as the question key to each of those topics. Purpose, success, resolution, ending, the end of the world – those notions appear either irrelevant or impossible in the context of this film. The research material consists mainly of reviews and director’s comments. Content analysis displays many references to classic film genres, references which, however, prove dysfunctional. An important theme of the movie is wandering. This is a recurring motif in Wenders’s work, which some interpretations derive from the identity-seeking typical of his generation. In his case, this search is often expressed by crossing state borders. Central Europe is nevertheless poorly represented in his work.

Based on the previously developed by the authors method for estimating the scattering characteristics of objects located near the interface between two half-spaces, the scattering data of a large Project 775 landing ship (NATO codification: Ropucha) are obtained. A surface model of the ship under study and the results of calculations of its scattering characteristics are given. Scattering characteristics were obtained for different probing conditions. The radar cross-section circular diagrams, mean and median radar cross-section values, averaged in different azimuth aspect ranges of probing for the object under study are presented.

The social value of waterways and gullies in new suburban development is something that is often overlooked and given limited resources to be developed. They have the potential to be intense centres of neighbourhoods and provide much needed social relief in the age of rapid urban expansion. This thesis explores the social potential of Kirikiriroa gully in Hamilton where suburban development has occurred at an alarming rate. The research extends the traditional top down masterplan design methodology used for large project sites by investigating the reverse of this, a study of life on the ground to inform the design. Using on-site analytical and design methods, the design attempts to reveal the workings of the landscape in a way that a masterplan cannot. Key to this was the identification of three important social experiential typologies within the gully system. The understanding and documentation of the relations and forces that produced these types facilitated adjustments to strategically identified sites, with the intention of intensifying the relevant social ecology of the gully at that site. This intensification is intended to influence the wider neighbourhoods and the gully system more broadly.

The research aimed to investigate what Turkish experts say sustainable development goals and teaching about achieving these goals. The research has a qualitative design, and the analysis of the interviews consisting of ten questions was made by document and content analysis. Interviews were held with ten academicians, who are experts in their field and have included the topic of sustainable development in their studies. Interview questions consisted of two parts in terms of content, in the upper part only for scientific purposes and for information purposes in consideration of ethical rules, as well as demographic information and the main questions. The main questions are based on determining whether the curriculum is sufficient in terms of the education of sustainable development, as well as identifying students who have gained awareness about this issue and the behaviors that can be expected from students. The interviews lasted an average of twenty-five minutes. The data were analyzed by transcribing the sound recordings. After the analyzes were completed, the codes, categories, and themes related to the questions were determined. As a result, with this study, a needs analysis, which is the first stage of the sustainable development teaching material to be developed within the scope of a large project study, has been made. In line with the results, new acquisitions about sustainable development were developed.

The goal of the article is to determine and evaluate the readiness of megapolis residents to participate in megaprojects in the context of the digitalization of the economy and the use of artificial intelligence. The main empirical methods are a questionnaire survey, in-depth interviews, and a focus group conducted using distance instruments due to the pandemic-related restrictions. The study demonstrates that the readiness of megapolis residents to take part in megaprojects under the conditions of the digitalization of the economy and the use of artificial intelligence is ambiguous. Obtaining the necessary human resources is often critical for the organizers of megaprojects. For the first time, the authors identify the main factors of the attractiveness of participating in megaprojects for megapolis residents: the opportunity to get the experience of working in a large project, interest in communicating with different people, and the opportunities to make a career and get a good salary. The important factors also include satisfaction from participating in a grandiose megaproject and becoming a pioneer in a big business. The factors of negligible importance are the opportunities to implement one’s professional skills and communicate in a foreign language in a foreign company, having access to information, and avoiding deployment in the army. The main advantage of the study is the systemic approach to evaluating the readiness of megapolis residents to participate in megaprojects, as well as the identification of the trends of the fragmentary and temporary readiness of megapolis residents for participation in megaprojects and the striving of young megapolis citizens to obtain new professional skills and abilities in megaprojects. Labor activity of megapolis residents in megaprojects is found to be contingent on their age, The obtained results can be used to improve the state personnel policy and the system for the formation of personnel potential in a megaproject.
