The objective of this research was to study the effect of bokashi livestock on the growth and yield of tomatoes. The experiment was conducted in Bandar Lampung from October 2009 until February 2010. The experimental design was randomized complete block design with 3 replications. The treatments were: control; inorganic fertilizers at a recommended rate of (kg ha-1) 135 N, 75 P2O5, and 110 K2O (RR); chicken manure bokashi + RR; chicken manure bokashi + 50% RR; cow manure bokashi + RR; cow manure bokashi + 50% RR; sheep manure bokashi + RR; sheep manure bokashi + 50% RR; horse manure bokashi + RR; horse manure bokashi + 50% RR. Each bokashi treatment was applied at the rate of 20 ton ha-1. The result of experiment showed that chicken manure bokashi was the best among bokashi livestock. The application of 50% RR combined with chicken, cow, sheep or horse manure bokashi gave a higher yield than treatment with inorganic fertilizer at recommended rates. These results demostrated that the application of bokashi livestock could potentially reduce the use of inorganic fertilizers while maintaining higher yield. The use of Enriched organic fertilizer to Reduce organic and Inorganic Fertilizer Application and Increase the Potato Yields in the Highlands of Indonesia. Experiment was conducted at Experimental Station of Indonesian Vegetable Research Institute (the elevation of this site is 1250 meters above sea level) from June to November 2017. The objective of the experiment is to obtain an efficient technology of nutrient management in terms of organics and biological fertilizers and to obtain appropriate technology of potato tuber. The implementation of the reseach was preceded by making compost manure using Bio-decomposer for one month and enriched by using Bio-Phosphate and benficial Micro-organism, dolomite, ash husk and rock phosphate, then continued with its application in the field with potato as an indicator plant. The treatments were arrange in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with four replications. The treatments included the use of organic fertilizer in terms of horse manure enrichment at a rate of 20 and 40 t/ha and inorganic fertilizer at a rate of 0, 500 and 1000 kg NPK and horse manure 40 t/ha + 1000kg NPK/ha as control plants (farmer's practice). Results of the experiments indicated that the use of horse manure enriched by microorganism can reduce a rate of hord=se manure from 40 ton/ha to 20 t/ha to produce growth and yield of potato. Enriched horse manure can also reduce the use of inorganic fertilizers by half rate ( 500 kg NPK / ha). Combination of enriched horse manure 20 t / ha + 500 kg NPK / ha is more efficient to increase yield of potato tubers. The use of enriched horse manure does not seem to affect the improvement of soil fertility, especially for the availability of soil P and soil biological activity.  Keywords: Solanum tuberosum, horse manure, decomposer microbes, inorganic fertilizers, tuber yields.

The Effect of Organic and Inorganic Fertilizers on The Growth and Results of Green Mustard (Brassica rapa L.). Green mustard (Brassica rapa L.) is a vegetable that preferred by many consumers, this causes many farmers cultivate this vegetables. One of the important factor in the cultivation of green mustard is fertilizer type. Alternative to improve soil quality and fertility is by providing organic matter. A field research was conducted to evaluate the effect of organic and inorganic fertilizers on the growth and yield of green mustard, in Banjar Taman Tande, Baturiti Village, Bedugul from April to June 2018. This study was designed with a Randomized Block Design with nested patterns consisting of two factors. The first factor was the type of fertilizer, which was consisted of four types of organic fertilizer, namely: vermicompost, cow manure, chicken manure, goat manure and inorganic fertilizers (NPK Mutiara). The second factor was fertilizer dosage, which was consisted of three levels, namely: 0 tons/ha, 15 tons/ha, and 30 tons/ha, while for NPK Mutiara fertilizer dosages, namely: 0 kg/ha, 150 kg/ha, and 300 kg/ha.The results showed that the effect of organic and inorganic fertilizers were not significantly different on the growth and yield of green mustard plants and RAE values. The total N content of soil on vermicompost treatment was 0.23% equal to NPK Mutiara. The total population of soil microbes on vermicompost treatment under dosage of 15 tons/ha and 30 tons/ha were 1.4 x 106 cfu/g that was much higher compared to NPK Mutiara 150 kg/ha fertilizer (0.3 x 106 cfu/g).

A field experiment was conducted at Nalanda College of Horticulture, Noorsarai, Nalanda during summer 2017 to assess the effect of complementary and sole applications of organic and inorganic fertilizers on the growth and yield of bottle gourd under onion-onion-bottle gourd crop sequence. The experiment consists of seven treatments viz.,T1-Inorganic fertilizers (120 Kg N: 60 Kg P2O5 and 40 Kg K2O); T2-50% NPK through inorganic fertilizer + 50%N through FYM; T3-50% N through FYM + 50% N through VC; T4-1/3 of N through FYM + VC + Neemcake; T5-50% N through FYM + PSB + Azotobactor; T6-T3 + PSB + Azotobactor and T7-T4 + PSB + Azotobactor. These seven treatments were replicated thrice in Randomized Block Design. Results revealed that T1-100% NPK through inorganic fertilizer recorded 225.7 q ha-1 fruit yield, which was statistically at par with T2 and T6 producing (211.8 and 209.5 q ha-1). Vine length differed significantly at all the growth stages. T1 recorded maximum vine length (51.8, 370.3 and 464.7 cm) at 30, 60 and 90 DAS, which was significantly higher over T5 at 30 DAS, over T4 and T5 at 60 DAS and over T5 at 90 DAS. Among organics, T6 recorded longest vine, while T5 recorded shortest. No. of branches were found non-significant at 30 DAS but it become significant at 60 and 90 DAS and found significantly highest in T6 over all the treatments. After completion of the cropping system; onion-onion-bottle gourd, soils were subjected to analysis. pH differed significantly, while non-significant difference were observed in EC and soil Org-C. Similarly, available N and P concentration were also found non-significant due to different fertilizer sources, but the concentration of available K differed significantly and found highest in T1 which was at par with T2. T1-100% inorganic fertilizer sources recorded highest gross return, net return and B: C ratio followed by T2. On the basis of result it has been concluded that T2 having 50% NPK through inorganic fertilizer + 50% N through FYM may found suitable for sustainable bottle gourd production as it performed at par with T1 in respect to crop growth and yield.

An experiment was conducted to determine the effect of earthworm (Eisenia fetida andrei) castings derived from sheep, cow, or horse manures on the growth of poinsettia (Euphorbia pulcherrima `Freedom Red'). Poinsettia cuttings were transplanted to 1-L (15-cm-diameter) plastic pots that were filled with castings:peat moss at 1:0, 1:3, 1:1, 3:1, or 0:1 by volume for each animal manure evaluated. Plants were fertilized using 200 ppm N from a 15-5-25 (N-P2O5-K2O) fertilizer applied with the irrigation water. Total bract area and growth index were greatest in those treatments consisting of 3:1 and 1:1 (castings:peat) from sheep and cow manures, 1:0 (castings:peat) from cow manure and for growth index only, 1:0 (castings:peat) from horse manure. For these two characteristics, 100% sheep manure castings and 100% peatmoss had the lowest values. The time to anthesis was least when poinsettias were grown in 3:1 or 1:1 castings:peat from sheep and cow manures and 1:3, 1:0, or 3:1 from sheep, cow, or horse manure respectively. Anthesis was most delayed when plants were grown in 100% castings from sheep manure.

<p>ABSTRACT</p><p>Sowthistle  is one of wild medicinal plants.  Sowthistle  can be planted in the pot, polybag or land with mix of organic material or sand with lime. The objective of this research was to determine the effect of media composition on the growth and production of  sowthistle  (Sonchus  arvensis  L.). The experiment  was  arranged  in  a  randomized  complete  block  design  with one  factor,  three treatments and three replications. The treatments were 8 kg soil, 7.5 kg soil + 0.5 kg cow manure, 7 kg soil + 0.5 kg  cow manure  + 0.5 kg rice hull  charcoal  polybag-1. The three treatments used lime with the rate of 10 g polybag-1. Media composition as control  was  7 kg soil + 0.5 kg cow manure + 0.5  kg  rice  hull  charcoal  without  lime.  Every  treatment consisted  of  10  plants.  The  results  of experiment  showed  that  unaffected by  composition  did  not  the  growth  and  yield  component  of sowthistle media.  Compared  to  treatment  without  lime,  fresh  weight  of  root  at  5 MST  with  the application of cow manure was significantly smaller.</p><p>Keywords: cow manure, lime, rice hull charcoal</p><p>ABSTRAK</p><p>Tempuyung  merupakan  salah  satu  tanaman  obat  yang  tumbuh  liar.  Budi daya  tempuyung dapat  dilakukan  di  dalam  pot,  polybag,  atau  lahan dengan  menggunakan  bahan  organik  yang dicampur  dengan  puing bangunan atau  pasir  serta  batu  yang  diberi  banyak  kapur.  Penelitian  ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh komposisi media tanam  terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman  tempuyung  (Sonchus  arvensis  L.).  Percobaan  ini menggunakan  rancangan  kelompok lengkap teracak (RKLT) faktor tunggal, tiga taraf dan tiga perlakuan yaitu 8 kg tanah, 7.5 kg tanah + 0.5 kg pupuk kandang sapi, 7 kg tanah + 0.5 kg pupuk kandang sapi + 0.5 kg arang sekam polybag-1. Ketiga  perlakuan  menggunakan  dosis  kapur  10  g  polybag-1. Komposisi  media  tanam  sebagai pembanding  adalah  7  kg  tanah  +  0.5 kg pupuk  kandang  sapi  +  0.5  kg  arang  sekam  tanpa  kapur. Setiap perlakuan terdiri  atas  10  tanaman  dan  diulang  sebanyak  tiga  kali.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komposisi media tanam tidak mempengaruhi peubah vegetatif  dan komponen hasil tanaman tempuyung. Bobot basah akar pada umur 5 MST dengan penambahan pupuk  kandang sapi nyata lebih kecil dibandingkan dengan perlakuan tanpa kapur.</p><p>Kata kunci: arang sekam, kapur, pupuk kandang sapi</p>

To evaluate the combined effect of organic and inorganic fertilizer a field experiment was conducted on tomato for yield and yield contributing character of fruits using vermicompost and different types of inorganic fertilizers at the farms of Ishurdi Sub-station of Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear agriculture (BINA) during Rabi season, 2020. One variety (Binatomato-11) and ten different treatments T1 = control (no fertilizer), T2 = 100% CF (Chemical Fertilizer), T3 = 70% CF, T4 = 70% CF + 1 t ha-1 VC (Vermicompost), T5 = 70% CF + 2 t ha-1 VC, T6 = 70% CF + 3 t ha-1 VC, T7 = 85% CF, T8 = 85% CF+ 1 t ha-1 VC, T9 = 85% CF+ 2 t ha-1 VC and T10 = 85% CF + 3 t ha-1 VC were used as experimental materials. The field trial was laid out in a randomized complete block design with three replications. Results showed that plant height (120.67 cm), number of fruits/plant (53.33), single fruit weight (95 gm), fruit yield (63.33 t/ha), number of fruit picking (5 times) were higher in T5 (70% Chemical fertilizers + 2t ha-1 VC) than control and other treatments. No significant difference was observed in days to 1st flowering response to the treatments. The study revealed that combined effect of vermicompost and inorganic fertilizers affected tomato plant significantly.

Swiss chard (Beta vulgaris var. cicla) is a leafy vegetable that belongs to the Chenopodiaceae family. The leaves are cooked, if still tender they are used in salads. Over the years, Emawati have adopted the use of inorganic fertilizers as they are easy to apply and come with recommended application rates. However, their main drawback is that they are environmentally unfriendly especially when washed into rivers, streams and other water bodies. For this cause, the use of animal manures has been promoted. Four-week-old Swiss chard seedlings were transplanted on the 4th of February, 2016 in 1.5 x1.5 m plots with an inter and intra row spacing of 45 cm and they were irrigated twice a day during the first week and every second day from the second week until the end of the experiment. The experiment was conducted at the Horticulture Department Farm, Faculty of Agriculture and Consumer Sciences, Luyengo Campus of the University of Swaziland to determine the effects of chicken manure application rates on growth, yield and quality of Swiss chard. Four chicken manure application rates (10, 20, 40 and 80 t/ha) and a recommended 900 kg/ha, inorganic basal fertilizer with a 125 kg/ha LAN top dressing fertilizer used as a control. A Randomised Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four replicates was used. The study showed that the application of 80 t/ha of chicken manure improved the growth and yield of Swiss chard. It is recommended that farmers may use 80 t/ha of chicken manure because it gave the best results compared to the other treatments. The highest fresh shoot mass (237.5 g) was obtained in plants treated with 80 t/ha of chicken manure while the lowest fresh shoot mass (100.0 g) was obtained in plants fertilized with inorganic fertilizers. It was concluded that 80 t/ha was the best under the conditions of this study and it was found that fresh mass at the end was the most important parameter to consider.

Abstract Using organic materials as fertilizer has contributed a lot to protecting the environment and the future of human life through sustainable agriculture. Local resources are used in such a way that synthetic nutrients can be reduced as low as possible. This study aims to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) on cabbage yield with inorganic fertilizers' efficiency. The research was conducted in Berastagi experimental farm, Karo regency, with the soil type and altitude of 1,340 m asl, which began from July - September 2018. The design used was a randomized block design consisting of 16 treatments with three replication. The treatments tested were: A. Without inorganic fertilizer + LOF 1, B. 25% inorganic fertilizer + LOF 1, C. 50% inorganic fertilizer + LOF 1, D. 75% inorganic fertilizer + LOF 1, E. 100% inorganic fertilizer + LOF 1, F. Without inorganic fertilizer + LOF 2, G. 25% inorganic fertilizer + LOF 2, H. 50% inorganic fertilizer + LOF 2, I. 75% inorganic fertilizer + LOF 2, J. 100% Inorganic Fertilizer + LOF 2, K. Without inorganic fertilizers + LOF 3, L. 25% inorganic Fertilizer + LOF 3, M. 50% inorganic Fertilizer + LOF 3, N. 75% inorganic Fertilizer + LOF 3, O. 100% Inorganic Fertilizer + LOF 3, P. 100% Inorganic Fertilizer + without LOF (Control). The results showed that, in general, the application of liquid organic fertilizer for rabbit urine, fish fertilizer, and fish teillation could stimulate the growth and yield of cabbage better than inorganic fertilizers. Applicationthe liquid organic fertilizer can increase theheight growth of cabbage was 0.67 - 0.88%, plant diameter was 0.33 - 2.56%, crop weight per plant was 5.14 - 5.84%, production per plot was 2.96 – 9.78%, and the crop ratio of 3.36 - 10.84% compared to the use of inorganic fertilizers.

<p>The research was conducted from May to November 2011 at Central Java (Karanganyar District) and East Java (ngawi district) dry land. The research was used Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) and with two treatments, were: sweet sorghum varieties (Numbu dan Kawali) and the kind of manure (chicken, goat, cow, kascing and without manure). The data was analyzed with randomize analisys and Duncan test. The research showed that (a) Numbu and Kawali varieties were gave same respons to growth and yield component variables, so the both varieties can be planting at Central Java (Karanganyar District) and East Java (Ngawi District) dry land; (b) Chicken manure gave the best effect to sweet sorghum growth and yield compared with control, cow, goat, and kascing manure, consist of: plant height, leaf number, root length, root volume, 1000 seed weight, stem diameter, biomass fresh weight, and biomass dry weight, juice content, and sugar content.</p>
