For the location of new activities in CEE, a helpful factor was sobering up of the European companies from the Indian euphoria. Because of different, lower-level property rights, difficulties in intercultural communication and, very often, only superficial knowledge of the topic, the companies stopped outsourcing of some more sensitive activities to India or China. From the global point of view the “CEE miracle” is hard to compare with Asia, if in 2006 the CEE region received only a little more than $2B, in comparison to $386.5B worldwide (Třešňák 2007). But it brings new high-quality working places and highly embedded investments; additionally the multiplying effect is also much higher than in mounting factories activities. Outsourcing also supports motivation for education, world languages knowledge, travelling, and other positive phenomena. There are no or only very few risks. Who can be the competitor in the region? Economists do not suppose that the investment boom will stop in the near future. But Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, and maybe countries of former Yugoslavia are perceived as direct future competitors of the Vysehrad region. Despite the fact that we can observe a geographical trend towards selective concentration of these quaternary activities to big centres, especially metropolitan regions, and increasing polarisation between regions, positive effects for the country as a whole prevail. An important role of FDI localisation is played by the presence of technical universities and other „soft“ infrastructure. They do not bring the highest number of created jobs, but they are crucial in embedding other economic activities.

Digitalization is a megatrend, but there is relatively little knowledge about its consequences for service work in general and specifically in knowledge-intensive business services (KIBS). We studied the impact of digitalization on psychological consequences for employees in tax consultancies as a special case of KIBS. We compare two tax consulting jobs with very different job demands, those of tax consultants (TCs) and assistant tax consultants (ATCs). The results show that the extent of digitalization at the workplace level for ATCs correlates significantly positively with their job satisfaction. For TCs, the same variable correlates positively with their work engagement. These positive effects of digitalization are mediated in the case of ATCs by the impact on important job characteristics. In the case of TCs, which already have very good working conditions, the impact is mediated by the positive effect on self-efficacy. Theoretical and practical consequences of these results are discussed.

Relevance. The study of the specific organizational culture peculiarities within group entities conducting criminal economic activities is significant for understanding the essence of such organizations, socio-psychological mechanisms of their potential influence on society. So far, the criminal subculture has not been considered from the point of view of postmodernism methodology, the influence of the role of organizational culture on its development. Purpose. Develop the theoretical foundations of the study of criminal subculture that are adequate for modern society. Method. Theoretical analysis of the criminal subculture from the point of view of the methodology of postmodernism. Results. The article provides an analysis of the peculiarities of the nature of modern culture in the conditions of the postmodern and information society, the relationship of the criminal subculture with the culture of society and the social processes taking place in it, the specifics of changes and the cultural transformation of the criminal subculture in a multicultural society (dissemination and introduction into society, modification, acquisition of new forms). Conclusions. Reliance on the methodology of postmodernism gives a deeper understanding of the cultural transformation specifics in the modern criminal subculture. The introduction of criminal subculture into the structure of society is due to the use of objective elements of organizational culture (image, externally acceptable, socialized forms of employee behavior, external compliance with the requirements of conventionality) and concealment of subjective elements of organizational culture (values of the criminal world).

The southeast of Madrid has recently been incorporated into the regional political agenda as an opportunity for the tourist rebalancing of the territory. The objective of this work is to evaluate the role of the 6 main programs undertaken from the point of view of their capacity to generate articulation in this destination. The result of the analysis reflects the reality of weak relationships at the intra-regional level that are polarized by the regional government, as well as a diversified economic sector (which hinders the engagement of the private sector to public programs). Only a few glimpses of cooperation in “the periphery of the periphery” emerge as positive effects of such programs. Attention is drawn to the limitations in the construction of a rural destination with a regional base in peripheral territories under metropolitan influence.

Among the most common diseases of humanity in patients of the older age group, there is an articular pathology with degenerative changes in the hyaline cartilage, which significantly limits the functional activity of the locomotor apparatus. The rapid development of experimental scientific research in recent decades has made it possible to revise the concept of the pathogenesis of this process with confirmation of the leading role of inflammation in the development of functional and structural damage in this disease. These new data supported the change in the name of the disease from “osteoarthros” to “osteoarthritis” and justified the positive effects of individual drugs. The proposed lecture material discloses the topic of the modern understanding of the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis and the additional benefits of using drugs from the diacerein group due to their anti‑inflammatory and chondroprotective effect.
