Nowadays one of the prime concern in dentistry is on preservation of remaining natural teeth. Many patients require replacement of missing teeth and associated structures to enhance appearance, improve masticatory efficiency, prevent unwanted movement of teeth (overeruption/ drifting), and/ or improve phonetics. Presence of few teeth in oral cavity helps in preserving alveolar ridge integrity, maintain the proprioception, and gives psychological benefit to the patient. This case report presents a case of a 54-years-old female with few remaining teeth, one remaining tooth in maxilla and two remaining teeth in mandible. Patient wants to get her masticatory function and aestethic back with maintain her remaining teeth. Cu-sil denture is one of the simplest removable partial denture that can replace missing teeth where only few teeth remain in oral cavity. A Cu-sil denture is a denture with holes, lined by a gasket, the holes that providing space for remaining natural teeth to emerge into the oral cavity through the denture.

Presence of few teeth in oral cavity help in preserving alveolar ridge integrity, maintain the proprioception, and gives psychological benefit to the patient. Overdenture has proven to be the mainstay of conservative prosthodontic treatment when proper diagnosis, treatment planning, and most importantly, patient compliance are achieved. This paper presents a case report of rehabilitation of a 65 year old patient with multiple missing teeth with tooth supported overdenture in both maxilla and mandible.

Cu-Sil denture is a simplified approach which helps in preserving the few remaining natural teeth .It is a new type of transitional denture which clasps the neck of the tooth providing space for the remaining teeth to emerge into the oral cavity through the denture. Preserving the remaining teeth not only preserves the alveolar ridge but also maintains proprioception providing psychological benefit for the patient. Cu-Sil denture is one such simpler clinical approach which offers many advantages. This case report represents a simple chair-side clinical approach to fabricate Cu-Sil denture by preserving the few natural teeth. Key words: Cu-Sil denture, transitional denture, proprioception.

<p class="AbstractContent">Restoring occlusal plane and occlusal vertical dimension (OVD) in patient with existing indirect restorations who must wear removable prostheses may be a challenge to the dental operator. Onlay removable partial dentures (RPD) are used to re-establish the occlusion in conjunction to replace missing teeth without having to remove the existing indirect restoration. This case report described prosthetic rehabilitation with onlay RPD in patients who were partially edentulous and has reduced OVD. The treatment involved a set of provisional RPD to re-establish the OVD, as well as to evaluate the function, esthetic and speech of the patient, followed by definitive onlay RPD. The mandibular onlay RPD was used to provide stable occlusion and to correct the uneven occlusal surface on the abutment teeth. This treatment able to improve patient’s chewing function through a simple removable prosthesis and conservative on the existing restorations.</p>

Cu-sil dentures are a newer type of transitional denture. Cu-sil is the most straightforward and gentle removable partial denture available. Its a tissue-bearing acrylic denture with a soft elastomeric seal that holds the natural tooths neck in place, keeping food and fluids out while cushioning and splinting each natural tooth from the hard acrylic denture base.Cu-sil dentures are made to preserve the alveolar bone by preserving the remaining natural teeth. This case report demonstrates an alternative method for fabricating Cu-sillike dentures.

ABSTRACT Reconstruction of large anterior ridge defects is often a prosthodontic challenge. Such defects require closure of the defect along with the replacement of the missing teeth so as to achieve proper speech and esthetics. Classifying these defects in the preoperative examination helps to diagnose and predict the prognosis and technical difficulties to be encountered. The aim and purpose of this case report is to describe the management of one such case with missing anterior teeth and severe anterior ridge defects. We also describe the process of fabrication of Andrew's bridge (a fixed-removable partial denture) to treat this Siebert's class III anterior ridge defect. A 56 year old man presented with one-sided cleft palate, affecting alveolar ridge in the upper left canine region. Patient was unable to eat and drink without having the food fall out through his mouths opening into his nose. During first visit, patient underwent x-ray analysis to identify how deeply the bone damage has affected his maxilla. It revealed deep bone penetration, connecting the base of the nose with the mouth. We suggested one of the most effective methods for treating these types of cases – a removable partial denture, which was made to work as an obturator at the same time, closing the space, which causes difficulties to the patient. This case report represents a rare presentation and treatment of cleft palate by using removable partial dentures (RPDs) to close the gap, connecting the patient’s mouth with the nose structures.

Tooth wear is a common problem seen in population and poses restorative challenge to a dentist as well. Extensive dental procedures are usually required for the treatment of tooth wear associated with loss of occlusal vertical dimension. An overlay removable partial denture provides conservative treatment option for patients with moderate to severe worn down dentition and partial edentulism. It is designed in such a way that some part of denture component also covers the occlusal surface of remaining teeth and replace the remaining teeth to achieve a functionally stable occlusion. This case report is about a patient who was given cast metal overlay upper and lower denture for a correction of lost vertical dimension of occlusion, replacement of few missing teeth and for the prevention from further tooth wear. All efforts to save the natural teeth should be made during restoration to achieve optimum functionality and aesthetics. Tooth loss is associated with appetite loss and loss of nutritional values. Thus, rehabilitating complete or partial edentulous conditions contributes to improvement in the functioning of the masticatory system. In the latter case of partially dentate condition, the natural teeth present preserve the residual ridges. Extraction of teeth causes alveolar ridge resorption. Poor foundation or ridge form donot provide support for the denture bases which is the factor of utmost consideration for stabilisation of the denture bases. In these instances, use of the telescopic dentures may be indicated. A telescopic denture retains and preserves the natural teeth beneath it. Every dentist aims at preserving the natural and restoring the lost. Preservation of the remaining teeth in turn preserves the natural proprioception mechanism, was thus followed and applied in this case report in which a 25-year-old female patient with diabetic history and on medication since past four years, presented with multiple missing teeth in December 2019. After thorough evaluation, the patient was treated by Marburg double crown system or synonymously termed as telescopic denture opposing the tooth supported overdenture. Follow-up and recall schedule was then explained and operator noted a satisfactory response from the patient. Consecutive follow-ups were maintained.

Immediate complete denture (ICD) is a mucosa-supported prosthesis manufactured before the removal of natural teeth and installed soon after their extraction. This paper aims to describe a clinical case of oral rehabilitation with upper ICD and lower removable partial denture (RPD). A 57-year-old female patient sought treatment with dissatisfaction with her aesthetics and mobility of the upper teeth. After anamnesis, intra and extra-oral examinations, radiographic examination and analysis of study models mounted on a semi-adjustable articulator, periodontal pockets were found in the upper teeth and extensive bone loss. So, upper tooth extraction, superior ICD and lower RPD were indicated as treatment. For ICD preparation, anatomical and functional moldings were made, made up of orientation and intermaxillary relationship plans for the assembly of the semi-djustable articulator models. The remaining upper teeth were removed from the model for assembly of the artificial teeth and the ICD was polymerized and polished. The lower RPD was made following the standard steps. After dentures manufacturing, the surgery for upper tooth extraction was performed and prostheses installed immediately after surgery. The results demonstrated that the performed treatment provided aesthetic, phonetic, and functional restoration to the patient avoiding her to undergo a period of edentulism. It was concluded that ICD is a good indication for prosthetic rehabilitation of patients with advanced periodontitis, whose planning is the exodontia of all the teeth of an arch.
