Cu-sil dentures are a newer type of transitional denture. Cu-sil is the most straightforward and gentle removable partial denture available. Its a tissue-bearing acrylic denture with a soft elastomeric seal that holds the natural tooths neck in place, keeping food and fluids out while cushioning and splinting each natural tooth from the hard acrylic denture base.Cu-sil dentures are made to preserve the alveolar bone by preserving the remaining natural teeth. This case report demonstrates an alternative method for fabricating Cu-sillike dentures.

Introduction: Rehabilitation with the use of overlay-type removable prostheses is indicated in cases of more severe occlusal dysfunction. This type of treatment meets the need for more immediate results, providing aesthetic improvement while the rehabilitation work is being done, while promoting the gradual rehabilitation of occlusal function, re-adjusting the intermaxillary relationship. In addition, the patient can anticipate the final result of the treatment beforethe definitive prosthesis is made. Objective: To show a clinical case of planning and execution of removable overlays. Case report: JCF patient had occlusal dysfunction and presented as main complaint the aesthetic and functional deficiency. He used a removable partial denture (PPR) only on the upper arch. The existing prosthesis did not present stability due to the loss of some dental elements, pillars of the PPR. Two overlays (upper and lower) were indicated because the patient had good periodontal conditions in the remaining dentalelements that were in a favorable position. Necessary exodontia, adequacy of the buccal environment with sub and supragingival scaling and the fabrication of overlays were performed. Conclusion: The use of temporary overlays can provide the necessary time for the patient to adapt to the new occlusal conformation in the period in which the restorations and definitive prostheses are expected to be performed. The use of overlays presented a satisfactoryresult for the proposed treatment, since it promoted the functional rehabilitation, restored aesthetic, even temporarily, and motivated the patient to continue the treatment. According to the patient, there were significant improvements in chewing quality and self-esteem.

The deformity associated with maxillofacial defects causes more of a psychological imbalance than the actual structural and functional loss. Mandible is the only bone that supports the lower face and aids in performing oral functions. Maxillofacial defects that interrupt the continuity of the mandible results in mandibular deviation and rotation which are evident esthetically as well as occlusally. The prime aims of prosthetic rehabilitation are to restore the patient with improved esthetics and acceptable occlusion. These aims   are related to the extent of the mandibular resection, the amount of soft tissue loss, and presence or absence of natural teeth. Mandibular discontinuity defects that are immediately restored with grafts have better prognosis as the continuity of mandible is retained. Maxillofacial prosthesis  that can camouflage these defects to restore the facial symmetry,   normal appearance   and   an acceptable occlusion, can not only boost the patient’s morale and assist in bringing them back to the society but also aid in performing their functions more efficiently . This clinical case report describes the prosthetic rehabilitation with a cast partial denture for a patient who underwent a hemimandibulectomy and reconstruction with bone (rib) graft. Nowadays one of the prime concern in dentistry is on preservation of remaining natural teeth. Many patients require replacement of missing teeth and associated structures to enhance appearance, improve masticatory efficiency, prevent unwanted movement of teeth (overeruption/ drifting), and/ or improve phonetics. Presence of few teeth in oral cavity helps in preserving alveolar ridge integrity, maintain the proprioception, and gives psychological benefit to the patient. This case report presents a case of a 54-years-old female with few remaining teeth, one remaining tooth in maxilla and two remaining teeth in mandible. Patient wants to get her masticatory function and aestethic back with maintain her remaining teeth. Cu-sil denture is one of the simplest removable partial denture that can replace missing teeth where only few teeth remain in oral cavity. A Cu-sil denture is a denture with holes, lined by a gasket, the holes that providing space for remaining natural teeth to emerge into the oral cavity through the denture.

Immediate complete denture (ICD) is a mucosa-supported prosthesis manufactured before the removal of natural teeth and installed soon after their extraction. This paper aims to describe a clinical case of oral rehabilitation with upper ICD and lower removable partial denture (RPD). A 57-year-old female patient sought treatment with dissatisfaction with her aesthetics and mobility of the upper teeth. After anamnesis, intra and extra-oral examinations, radiographic examination and analysis of study models mounted on a semi-adjustable articulator, periodontal pockets were found in the upper teeth and extensive bone loss. So, upper tooth extraction, superior ICD and lower RPD were indicated as treatment. For ICD preparation, anatomical and functional moldings were made, made up of orientation and intermaxillary relationship plans for the assembly of the semi-djustable articulator models. The remaining upper teeth were removed from the model for assembly of the artificial teeth and the ICD was polymerized and polished. The lower RPD was made following the standard steps. After dentures manufacturing, the surgery for upper tooth extraction was performed and prostheses installed immediately after surgery. The results demonstrated that the performed treatment provided aesthetic, phonetic, and functional restoration to the patient avoiding her to undergo a period of edentulism. It was concluded that ICD is a good indication for prosthetic rehabilitation of patients with advanced periodontitis, whose planning is the exodontia of all the teeth of an arch.

SummaryBackground/Aim: Congenital defects such as cleft palate and lips require a long-lasting and multidisciplinary approach. In cases when surgical and orthodontic treatment is not feasible, prosthodontic management of these patients is advocated. Prosthetic rehabilitation of cleft palate in concerning of achieving aesthetic and function (such as swallowing and speech) outcomes is very demanding.Case report: Material and method: After performing the necessary surgical procedures and orthodontic treatment, 24-years-old male patient was sent to the Department for Maxillofacial Prosthetics of Istanbul University. Followed the clinical examination, the necessary periodontal and conservative therapy was performed. After radiographic evaluation and dental cast analysis prosthetic rehabilitation was performed. The prosthetic rehabilitation of cleft palate was accomplish with conventional fixed partial denture whose number of included abutment were defined by biomechanical principles. Additionally removable partial denture were manufactured for closing oro-nasal defects and lip supporting.Conclusions: The prosthetic rehabilitation resulted with functionally and aesthetically content prosthesis. With achieving proper swallowing Quality of Life of the patient was enormously enhanced.

ABSTRACT Scope of work The purpose of this work is the analysis and comparison of the various methods available for the realization of fixed restorations on natural teeth in the anterior sector with the presentation of some case report series. Materials and methods The methods used in relation to the clinical case, are the metal-ceramic, the galvan-ceramic, all- ceramic and porcelain veneers. Results It highlights indications and limitations of each of the methods proposed, emphasizing the prominent role of esthetics in the rehabilitation sector of the front. Conclusion The materials and techniques available, with proper clinical evaluation and to a timely therapeutic planning, are the basis of the rehabilitative ideal choice for each individual case, and they also depend on the achievement of clinical success.
