The article analyses the features of the formation and strategic guidelines of the Chinese foresight technology, its potential opportunities, the limits of its use in order to build the desired digital future and determine specific steps to achieve it effectively. To this end, the author considers the archetypal traces of the predictive activity of Ancient China, their interaction with modern predictive practice as an integral part of the design of the alleged digital image of the future. The paper determines theoretical and methodological foundations of modern Chinese foresight technology, initial basic methodological principles and technology of prospective step-by-step application of comprehensive foresight, including the method of scenario design. The article pays special attention to the understanding of modern China foresight projects, possibility of their implementation on the national basis and impact of foresight results on the Chinese model of development and change management at the transition stage to digital society.

The article performs an analysis of the maxim of Ancient China, according to which further life, changes can be controlled if you first lift the veil of the past and present, look into the future and it is better to construct its desired image and move towards it. To this end, the author considers the traditional model of managing current changes and possible future, formed within the framework of the spiritual culture of China, which has found its modern embodiment in the technology of Chinese foresight. The paper determines the socio-cultural foundations of the model, the nature of prognostic knowledge, the features of its implementation in the form of effective inaction. The author pays special attention in the article to the understanding of the Chinese phenomenon of the future and its cosmological basis, the role of the “Supreme Ultimate” (Taiji) in the prognostic process, the latent side of the cognitive prognostic technology.

The article comments on the concept of «socialism with Chinese specificity», which forms the ideological basis of the «Chinese miracle». The ideological origins of this concept, starting with Confucianism, are revealed. It has evolved to become increasingly pragmatic and to adapt to the realities of national and global development. The relation of this concept with the Marxist concept of socialism is shown. The article substantiates the fundamental theoretical thesis that in the objective-essential sense (in the elimination of, in particular, national specifics) Chinese society is a transitional form to socialism (a certain analogue of the Soviet society of the NEP period). The author talks about a «heterogeneous», «mixed» socio-economic system, the vector and nature of the future evolution of which will depend crucially on the strategic course of the CPC.

Arts-based research (ABR) is a rapidly growing methodological genre. Arts-based research adapts the tenets of the creative arts in social research to make that research publicly accessible, evocative, and engaged. This chapter provides a retrospective and prospective overview of the field, including a review of some of the pioneers of arts-based research, methodological principles, and robust examples of arts-based research in different artistic genres. We include literary forms such as poetic inquiry and fiction, performative forms such as playbuilding, ethnodrama, ethnotheater and film, and visual forms such as photography, collage, art journaling, and mixed media. We note researches also use multiple art forms, and evolving and innovative forms of art. We provide suggestions for (contested) assessment criteria, such as utility, aesthetics, authenticity and valuing participatory and transformative approaches. The chapter closes with our thoughts regarding the future of the field, which includes ABR’s potential to improve public scholarship.

ABSTRACT This paper discusses some aspects of innovation in China. As China seeks to transition to a knowledge-based economy, it may become more important for China to develop innovative technologies to sustain economic growth. How do China's history, culture, institutions, and organizations aid or hinder innovation? How does China's national innovation system compare to the innovation culture in the US, as well as other developed and emerging economies? What are the prospects for the future of the Chinese national innovation system? Our starting point is the Needham Puzzle – the paradox that while China was once a world leader in technological development, it fell behind; the Industrial Revolution happened in Europe rather than in China. Potential explanations for the Needham Puzzle may shed light on the challenges facing innovation in modern China. We identify three factors that might help explain the Needham Puzzle; assess how the Needham Puzzle and Chinese culture and history have affected the modern innovation system; discuss comparative aspects of innovation ecosystems in the United States and elsewhere; and suggest that Chinese innovation emphasizes exploitation and refinement of existing knowledge to the exploration and development of new knowledge. We also discuss implications for the future of innovation in China.

Purpose This study aims to discuss what prompted this organization to embark on the journey of transformational change, challenges faced strategies adopted to overcome challenges, leadership role and outcomes. Design/methodology/approach The descriptive approach is used to comprehend the transformational change process in this gigantic public sector undertaking (PSU). To have an idea of the effectiveness of the change process, the pre- and post-change performance of the company was taken into account through collection and analysis of physical and financial parameters. However, focus of this paper is concentrated on the transformation process and its chronological sequence only. Human resource productivity trend and organization development interventions adopted over the years were also observed along with conducting a sentiment analysis of the employees who lived through this entire change process in the organization. Findings The case study describes how this Indian PSU went through the process of transformational change management and leaves the reader to assess the degree and extent of success of the approach and strategy of the company in this regard. There may be many what-if situations and contingencies in this case for readers to explore for suggestions and solutions and finding new possibilities. Originality/value Change management is not a new exercise for the Indian corporate sector. What makes this case unique is the pro-active action initiated by a traditional high-performing and well-protected PSU to anticipate the future challenges and initiate action to overcome these. Change agents must “rewire” the plane while it is flying if the organization hopes to survive and perhaps prosper in the future. This case study is a first-hand account of the change process happening in a gigantic Indian PSU with Maharatna status.

The article defines the role of computer literacy as a component of future teacher training, identifies and characterizes the criteria and components of computer literacy in the light of today's requirements. The urgency of the problem of forming computer literacy of future primary school teachers in the process of professional training is due to the contradictions between the growing needs of society in teachers of new formation, capable of implementing modern information and communication technologies (ICT), and insufficient development of theoretical and methodological principles pedagogical education. The purpose of the article: to determine the role and place of computer literacy in the professional activity of the future primary school teacher; analysis of theoretical and methodological principles of computer literacy of future primary school teachers. To clarify the goal, various methods of scientific research were used: analysis of scientific literature − to determine the scientific and theoretical basis of the future primary school teacher to the use of information and communication technologies in professional activities; theoretical generalization, systematization of research - to substantiate the conceptual provisions of primary school teacher training in terms of informatization of education, the allocation of components of computer literacy of the teacher. The materials of the article reflect the current problem - the formation of computer literacy in future primary school teachers. The article identifies the role of computer literacy of future primary school teachers; the interpretation of the concept of «computer literacy» and its content is given, the theoretical and methodological principles of computer literacy are analyzed in the light of modern requirements.
