Currently, fugitive dust management on construction sites does not focus on prevention but rather seeks ways to control it after occurrence. In order to effectively manage fugitive dust on a construction site, it is necessary to quantify prevent fugitive dust from occurring, and take immediate measures after occurrence. Therefore, this study proposes a technique to estimate the amount of fugitive dust generated on a construction site using digital image information. Based on the results of this study, it is expected that high levels of fugitive dust on construction sites can be prevented in the future and efficient management will be possible.

The article analyses the features of the formation and strategic guidelines of the Chinese foresight technology, its potential opportunities, the limits of its use in order to build the desired digital future and determine specific steps to achieve it effectively. To this end, the author considers the archetypal traces of the predictive activity of Ancient China, their interaction with modern predictive practice as an integral part of the design of the alleged digital image of the future. The paper determines theoretical and methodological foundations of modern Chinese foresight technology, initial basic methodological principles and technology of prospective step-by-step application of comprehensive foresight, including the method of scenario design. The article pays special attention to the understanding of modern China foresight projects, possibility of their implementation on the national basis and impact of foresight results on the Chinese model of development and change management at the transition stage to digital society.

Application Service Provision (ASP), which consists of deploying, managing and remotely hosting software applications through centrally located servers, is emerging as a new form of application outsourcing that is attractive to many sectors. This chapter shows that the concept of strategic alliances is highly relevant to the ASP model. The chapter illustrates this with two cases, one of which was a failure because of inappropriate partnership management. The authors highlight the importance of focusing on the management of alliances instead of how to form them, by presenting a life cycle approach to alliances. The chapter also relates the immaturity of the ASP market to the difficulty in measuring the success of strategic alliances formed in this context. This chapter concludes by presenting predictions about the future of ASP.

A symposium on the future of the International Latitude Service (I. L. S.) is to be held in Helsinki in July 1960. My report for the symposium consists of two parts. Part I, denoded (Mk I) was published [1] earlier in 1960 under the title “Latitude and Longitude, and the Secular Motion of the Pole”. Part II is the present paper, denoded (Mk II).
