<p>Companies adopt and implement Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to streamline their business processes, enhance functionality and reporting and ultimately to increase efficiency. ERP implementations are highly complex projects. This paper analyses those factors that need to be considered and understood for a successful implementation. ERP implementation chances of success can be increased by ensuring the ERP project receives a high level of executive and project sponsor support. Top and middle management commitment and leadership and good, clear communication should also be paid particular attention to by any organisation gearing up to undertake such an initiative.</p>

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is a concept of enterprise system that describe the integration of the whole process in the organization. Study in this field mostly about external development paradigm on information system development. So, issue in ERP is all about how to adopt it in the organization, not about the application development. This paper reviews two methodology on ERP system implementation, one is vendor perspective methodology and new generic perspective methodology. Comparation of both methodology is done in this study by using Roger Sessions’ metric. Result is the vendor perspective slightly superior than the new generic perspective methodology.

This paper develops a framework for analyzing organizational change in information technology (IT) departments of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and applies that framework to a case study of a German airport that is majority-owned by the German federal government. Specifically, we derive a framework from literature to systematically identify transformation barriers for introducing new enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and business processes in IT departments of SOEs. This framework is based on the punctuated equilibrium model and considers dynamic process incorporation, explicit stakeholder integration, a detailed representation of the change process, and characteristics of public employees as main factors. We then apply the framework in a case study research approach and show how the framework allows identification of transformation barriers hidden to management but involved in the organizational change process (e.g., required change of organizational structures, required change of service-level-agreements). The framework can be a valuable tool for both researchers and practitioners to actively shape the effects of organizational transformation in SOEs and to identify factors that influence the change process.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in companies can be implemented to Multi National Corporation (MNC), Larger Enterprise, and Small & Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). In China, 99% of all companies can be categorized as SMEs. With a decade of high-speed economy development after entering the 21st century, traditional Chinese SMEs want to find a new management model to improve work efficiency and increase business opportunities. This study finds the factors affecting the diffusion and successful implementation of ERP in Chinese Nanjing manufacturing SMEs. It will lead to the conclusion that ERP investment and implementation, which could be used as project guideline by the management of SMEs or companies that adopt ERP in intend to implement them. The objective is to provide Nanjing’s SMEs implementing ERP with knowledge about ERP implementation factors.

This chapter provides a case study of a failed enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementation at a public university. Public universities, like other governmental agencies, may have more dif?culty implementing information technology (IT) because of limited resources, increased organizational bureaucracy, and extensive statutory reporting requirements. This chapter begins by identifying what an ERP system is, the dif?culties of implementing ERP systems, and the added dif?culties related to implementing technology in governmental organizations. In this case study analysis, upper managers, IT staff, and functional department end users were asked to identify why the project failed. Several lessons were learned including the importance of allocating adequate ?nancial resources to IT projects and managing the change process. As organizations move from the centralized legacy system environment which was prevalent in the last half of the 20th century, to the new distributed ERP environment, roles and responsibilities are changing. Readers are provided with practical suggestions that will help improve IT implementation success in governmental agencies.

In spite of the importance of implementing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in any organization, there are still many fears of not getting the return on investment from implementing it. In addition, there are many ERP systems implemented in different organizations that claim they did not get enough benefit from these systems. For this reason, this paper is intended to study the impact of ERP implementation approaches (Agile, Big Bang, and Hybrid) on the performance of Procure-to-Pay business processes. This paper adapts the quantitative research approach by using the survey strategy, which is conducted by a questionnaire collected from 91 respondents working in fifteen companies that implement Oracle ERP in Jordan. The researcher uses the SPSS as an analysis technique to test all hypotheses. The findings of the study show that the two ERP Implementation approaches (Big Bang and Hybrid) have a significant impact on the performance of Procure-to-Pay business processes. On the other hand, the study shows that Agile (ERP) implementation approach has no significant impact on the performance of Procure-to-Pay business processes.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems are commercial software packages that embody and integrate any number of business processes involved in the operation of an organization including but not limited to manufacturing, supply chain, sales, financial, human resources, budgeting, and customer service activity. These modules are developed for the purpose of business organization and there has to be a unique ERP system to support the higher education. There are many higher educational institutions that have implemented ERP system. The review of the study presents that there are very few study which has examined the ERP implementation success factor. The previous studies also indicate that there are unaddressed question which may lead to serious risk. This study may help the institution, and vendor to increase the user effectiveness and success ERP implementation in Higher Education institution.

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) relates primarily to software for business management, which consists of many modules that are essential for the growth and survival of various types of companies and organisations. By allowing faster supply chain management, the incorporation of similar business applications in an organisation will bring considerable advantages to the organisation. In order to increase business efficiency, ERP implementation helps businesses to adapt and customise information flows and automate business processes. The implementation of the system was reviewed with sufficient literature to substantially support the significance of arithmetic and logical principles and basic programming errors, including programme typographical errors, syntax error detection, and programme output process errors. Furthermore, the declaration of variables, the significance of modularisation and the need to support accessories, the accessibility of library files and the importance of frameworks have been discussed. In order to recognise framework implementation deficiencies in the ERP development process, improvement of coding formatting and significance of coding syntax were also critically checked with appropriate literature. One of the technologies that can optimize the data management system in Higher Education is the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) information system. However, in its implementation, failures often occur. This research was conducted to formulate the key factors for the successful implementation of ERP systems in universities. The research method used is descriptive qualitative through case studies on 4 campuses in West Java. The 20 key factors taken are the result of iterations of 32 works of literature in the 2016-2019 timeframe. The results of the study provide an overview of the key success factors that have emerged at each college and university.

Organizations rely on various types of information systems (IS) to manage day-to-day business and make decisions such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) and supply chain management (SCM) systems. Organizations rely on ERP systems to replace their legacy systems, integrate core business processes and to help adding value and increasing visibility. Additionally, SCM systems help organizations to enhance relationships with supply chain members. It is essential for organizations to measure their business performance by taking into consideration intra-organizational and inter-organizational indicators. Therefore, the integration between ERP and SCM systems is a key to enable more business performance; that were otherwise hidden. Accordingly, the motive for this paper is to study the influence of ERP-SCM integration on enabling more business performance measures. For this reason, a business performance measures framework was constructed and then tested on two organizations using multi-case study qualitative research approach. Analysis results indicated that integrating ERP and SCM systems would render more performance measures and hence enable better and wider-scope evaluation. Consequently, managers are more informed and accordingly are able to make high quality decisions.
