Business managers view the implementation of Information Technology (IT) as a tactic to combat competition by improving productivity, profitability and the level of information, irrespective of forms of ownership. Information enables the conceptualization and creation of new products and services by guiding decision makers in reaching a valid conclusion and making an informed decision regarding every area of their responsibility. Using a structured questionnaire administered to sixty selected staffs of the three selected Banks in Nigeria and analyzing the obtained data with the descriptive and regression method of statistical analysis, this study examines the role of management information system (MIS) as a catalyst to organisational performance in the 21st century. The result obtained indicated that MIS  is very important in an organisation because no organisation can survive, expand and attain meaningful development without information. Hence, the importance of MIS cannot be over emphasized especially in the Banking sector in the 21st Century.  Thus it is recommended that such information system needs to be strategically managed so as to bring about sound and profitable organisation and thereby increase organisational chance of surviving amidst daunting challenges.

This article aims to explain the role of Management Information Systems in the educational or academic fields, especially in schools. Education is a process of learning the knowledge, skills and habits of a group of people passed down from one generation to the next through teaching, training and research. In the world of technology education is very important because at this time almost every activity carried out using technology and does not rule out the possibility that in the world of education also has used information technology, the Management Information System (SIM) is the application of information systems within the organization to support information- information needed by all levels of management. Important role of SIM in the school to facilitate managing school data, Implementation of Management Information Systems (SIM) in Islamic Middle School Darul Qur'an Padang has student data, teacher data, student attendance list data, attendance list of teachers and employees, extracurricular data, eye data lessons, teacher picket schedule data, MID semester value data and semester value data, extracurricular or personal development data, study group data and additional study data for class IX. The important role of Management Information Systems (MIS) in education is very useful as an example for making certain decisions or policies. So, the Management Information System has an impact on improving the quality of schools in a better direction and the Management Information System (SIM) is also useful in daily school operations and is also useful in managerial decisions to be taken by the school

Tag technology how to combine with personal information management model is a personal space management information system of data management and sharing of the premise, based on information search in the traditional personal information management efficiency is low, can't share problem, put forward based on the tag tree organization of local data, based on a tag cloud organization model and the algorithm of global data, to construct a distributed and integrated data environment. System performance test results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively improve the precision of personal space management information system, reduce the response time.

The Intelligent Management Information System (IMIS) has the potential to transform human decision making by combining research in Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, and Systems Engineering. The field of Intelligent Decision Making (IDM) is expanding rapidly, due in part to advances in artificial intelligence and networkcentric environments that can deliver the technology. Communication and coordination between dispersed systems can deliver just-in-time information, real-time processing, collaborative environments, and globally up-to-date information to the human decision maker. At the same time, artificial intelligence techniques have demonstrated that they have matured sufficiently to provide computational assistance to humans in practical applications. It is the development direction of modern management science and technology. In this chapter, firstly we introduce the introduction and background of IMIS, and briefly, the related design conception. Subsequently, the Intelligent Decision Support System (IDSS) is depicted, which is the most significant technology of IMIS and related activities in the manufacturing process. The applications of IDSS and two cases for industrial manufacturing are then presented, representing the future development direction of manufacturing management. Lastly, a summary of this chapter is given. IMIS researchers and technologists have built and investigated Decision Support Systems (DSS) for more than 35 years. The developments in DSS began with building model-oriented DSS in the late 1960s which were followed by theory developments in the 1970s, and the implementation of financial planning systems and Group DSS in the early and mid-1980s. During the mid-1980s, Intelligent DSS were implemented through combining knowledge systems with DSS. These developments are discussed below, as well as the origins of Executive Information Systems, On-line Analytical Processing (OLAP), Business Intelligence, and the implementation of Web-based DSS in the mid-1990s, which quickly became a topic for active discussion, and whose influence spread widely.
