Transfer of training has turned out to be a major issue for the banking industry and the desire of successful transferability of training content can be actualized by motivating the trainees to transfer their learned skills. Therefore, this study highlighted the less studied variables from organizational factors (i.e. organizational and supervisor support) and trainee’s characteristics (i.e. self-efficacy) to develop a model for motivation to transfer. For the purpose, data were collected from 388 banking employees and the hypotheses were investigated by means of structural equation modeling using AMOS. The study found both organizational and supervisor support as contributing factors towards motivation to transfer through self-efficacy. The study has implications for the banking sector to cope with this emerging issue.

The training program has the ultimate goal and the knowledge gained in the training can be transferred back to work. This study aims to determine the effect of Self-Efficacy and Supervisor support on Transfer Training through Motivation to Transfer. The sample in this research is the PMQ employee at PT. Sumatra Prima Fibreboard. The sample technique used was purposive sampling, namely employees who had participated in the PMQ Skills training program with a valid total response of 203 respondents. Data collection was done by collecting questionnaires using the 5 Likert point scale. The data analysis method used in this study was Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) using WarpPLS version 5. The results showed that Self-Efficacy, Supervisor Support, and Motivation to Transfer from a positive and significant provider for Transfers of Training. Self-Efficacy and Supervisor Support are positive and significant variables in influencing Motivation to Transfer. The results of the study also showed that Self-Efficacy and Supervisor support had a significant and significant effect on Transfer Training through Motivation to Transfer.

Purpose This study aims to investigate the mechanism between perceived organizational support and transfer of training using self-efficacy and job satisfaction as mediating variables. More specifically, self-efficacy is examined as a mediator between perceived organizational support and job satisfaction, whereas job satisfaction is examined as a mediator between perceived organizational support and transfer of training. Design/methodology/approach This quantitative study is based on data collected from 409 employees of the banking sector on a random basis. Findings Structural equation modeling analysis confirmed the mediating role of job satisfaction between perceived organizational support and transfer of training. In addition, self-efficacy was found to perform the mediating role between perceived organizational support and job satisfaction. Research limitations/implications The data for this study were collected at one point of time, and it has implications for organizations and employees. Originality/value This study highlights the emerging issue of transfer of training and gives a practical model to the organizations to strengthen their human resources. This study is perhaps the first attempt to empirically investigate the mediating role of self-efficacy and job satisfaction.

This study aims to investigate the impact of parental career behaviors on undergraduate student’s career exploration and the mediating role of career self-efficacy. In the literature it is suggested that some social and individual factors facilitate students’ career exploration. Therefore, parental career behaviors and career self-efficacy is considered as predictors of student’s career exploration attitudes within the scope of the study. In this respect, data which are collected from 405 undergraduate students having an education on tourism and hotel management field by the survey method are analyzed by using the structural equation modeling. The results of the study indicate that parental career behaviors which are addressed support; interference and lack of engagement have a significant effect on student’s career exploration behaviors such as intended-systematic exploration, environment exploration and self-exploration. In addition, it has been found that one of the dimensions of parental career behaviors addressed as a lack of engagement has a significant effect on career self-efficacy levels of students. However, research results indicate that student’s career self-efficacy has a significant effect on only the self-exploration dimension. On the other hand, career self-efficacy has a partial mediating role between lack of engagement attitudes of parents and career exploration behaviors of students.

PurposeThis paper aims to examine the mediating role of knowledge process capability (KPC) between ethical leadership (EL) and administrative innovation (AI) in the banking sector of Ethiopia.Design/methodology/approachThe study was conducted by a standardized questionnaire survey to collect the data from 266 employees of Commercial Bank of Ethiopia in 93 branches. The study employed structural equation modeling approach with Analyzing Moment of Structures 23.0 to test the hypothesized mediation model.FindingsThe results of this investigation disclose that EL has a significant and direct effect on AI and KPC. KPC also influences AI significantly.Originality/valueThe study revealed that KPC plays a partial mediating role in linking EL to AI, which is a new contribution to the existing literature of EL. This dimension can provide new dimensions to design organizational leadership which is based on sustainability paradigm. This can strengthen the organizational capabilities aiming to increasing innovative behaviors in order to have a deep-seated strategy.


Knowledge sharing is vital for any organization, and it has an essential impact on developing ‎‎skills, increasing value, and maintaining a competitive advantage in the organization. In the knowledge management (KM) literature, ‎‎perceived organizational support and organizational trust have been pointed out as ‎‎primary factors for knowledge sharing. The present study investigated the role of ‎‎perceived organizational support in promoting nurses’ knowledge sharing, considering ‎‎organizational trust as a mediator‎. The cross-sectional study design was applied to examine the ‏hypothesized relationships.‏ ‎Data were ‎‎collected using three questionnaires from three hundred thirty ‎‎nurses working in five public hospitals in Shiraz city. The Partial Least Squares Structural ‎‎Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach was used to analyze data. The results revealed a significant and positive association between perceived organizational support, organizational trust, and knowledge sharing. The findings also demonstrated that organizational trust plays a mediating role between perceived organizational support and knowledge sharing.

Along with emerging the war for talent, scholars have given ample attention to employer branding concept referring the a whole of values and benefits that organizations provide for both attracting and retaining the best possible talent. In this context, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of employer branding on the favorable employee behavior as job embeddedness via the mediating role of the dedication and perceived organizational support.  Data collected from 200 respondents have been analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling. As a result of analyses, the hypothesized model was supported. Findings of the study revealed that employer branding has effect the dedication, job embeddedness and organizational support perception of employees. Additionally, dedication and perceived organizational support partially mediate the relationship between employer branding and job embeddedness. Finally, the theoretical and practical implication, limitations of the study and suggestions for future research are discussed.

The current study aims to explore factors which influence perceptions of employees and shape their intentions to leave the organization. It utilizes psychological factors that serve as baseline for turnover intentions. Data of 404 employees were taken from banking sector and evaluated through structural equation modeling in AMOS. Results reveal interesting insights identifying intrinsic rewards as significant factor in countering the turnover intentions whereas, justice perception and organizational support do not play direct role in shaping employees perceptions. Results carry managerial and practical guidelines that can be useful for organizations for creating a strategic taskforce.

AbstractResearch on the knowledge sharing has exploded over the past decades due to trends and integration of knowledge and talent management in modern workplace. However, knowledge hiding has been left unexplored; moreover, efforts to foster knowledge sharing remain because employees are unwilling to share their knowledge for several reasons. Drawing on psychological ownership and social exchange theory, this article investigated the nexus between perceived organizational support, psychological entitlement, knowledge hiding behavior, and extra-role behavior, and the mediating role of knowledge hiding behavior. Utilizing survey data collected from 375 employees in Jordanian commercial banks, a structural equation modeling was applied to analyze the data. Results from structural equation modeling show that (1) perceived organizational support has a positive impact on extra-role behavior, (2) knowledge hiding behavior has a negative impact on extra-role behavior, (3) psychological entitlement has a positive impact on knowledge hiding behavior, and (4) knowledge hiding behavior mediated the relationship between psychological entitlement and extra-role behavior. Implications for theory and practice are discussed.

We investigated whether or not self-efficacy mediated the enhancing effect of perceived control on purchase intention in online shopping. We randomly assigned 263 participants to experimental conditions in which they encountered different customer services. We assessed their perceived control, self-efficacy, and purchase intention via a self-evaluation survey. Results indicated that participants with the availability of live customer service had a higher level of perceived control and stronger purchase intention. There were significantly positive correlations among perceived control, self-efficacy, and purchase intention. Structural equation modeling showed that self-efficacy was a significant partial mediator of the effect of perceived control on purchase intention, accounting for 17.4% of the total effect. This finding implies that the provision of customer service in online shopping that leads consumers to have a perception of greater control can enhance their self-efficacy, and induce stronger purchase intention.

Background: Nowadays, learning is one of the most important factors in the lives of human beings. Lifelong learning and its effective variables are the topics of discussion in the contemporary era. In this regard, the present study was done to investigate the relationship between academic vitality, academic self-efficacy, and metacognitive skills, and lifelong learning concerning the mediating role of study approaches among students of Payame Noor University, Kangavar branch in the academic year 2016-2017. Methods: A random sampling method was used to select the participants. The sample size was determined to be 168 students. The required data were collected using the Academic Vitality Inventory, the Self-efficacy Scale, the Metacognition Questionnaire-30 (MCQ-30), Approaches and Study Skills Inventory for Students (ASSIST), and the Lifelong Learning Inventory. In total, 128 questionnaires were completely filled out and collected. Results: The results were analyzed using the Pearson Correlation and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using PLS and SPSS v. 20 software. The results showed that the model suitably fitted the data. The main research hypothesis was accepted at the 0.002 significance level. Academic self-efficacy, study approaches and skills, and metacognitive skills were directly correlated with lifelong learning (r=0.436, p=0.001). Conclusion: Education and emphasis on study give incentives for lifelong learning. In a normal situation, no relationship was found between lifelong learning and other factors.
