Schizophrenia is a chronic and multifactorial mental health problem that occurs in developing countries, including in Indonesia. Families with schizophrenia patients will feel the burden of care and lead to pasung, and supported by various factors. Pasung, by the family, aims to control the aggressive behavior of the patient. A systematic review was conducted by searching four online databases, namely ProQuest, Science Direct, and EBSCO, and Google Scholar in the past ten years. This analysis uses the PRISMA 2009 method and obtained 14 articles for final review. The results obtained are the internal factors that most influence on pasung is the aggressive behavior of schizophrenia patients, both towards themselves, family, or the environment. In comparison, the most influential external factor is the emergence of stigma against patients and their families. Both of these factors cause the family to decide to pasung on schizophrenia patients, associated with feelings of helplessness and hopelessness. Community mental health nursing (CMHN) plays a role in handling and preventing pasung, which must be supported by the government and the community. Increased knowledge about schizophrenia and pasung in community has an impact on improving the mental health status of the community. Fifty Israeli female college students participated in a study aimed at assessing women's personal aspirations about self-identity as compared with their perception of mother and father. Results lead to the construction of a model of identity development, along Piaget's formulations, in which the mother is perceived as mainly responsible for the concrete stage of her children's development by fulfilling, within the family circle, nurturant and affective functions, while the father symbolizes a further step of development by combining also intellectual-abstract qualities and effective interactions outside the home. Each stage of development is successively built on top of the other, incorporating in its system the earlier stage. The subjects, especially first and only daughters, expressed a wish pattern of self-characteristics very similar to that perceived in their fathers. This could indicate their striving to combine both feminine and masculine characteristics.

In order to provide sound, person-centred care, mental health nursing students need a thorough understanding of theory alongside the ability to translate this knowledge into practice. It can be difficult to apply ideas from the classroom and books when learning how to work with mental health service users for the first time. That is why the theoretical aspects of this book are presented alongside realistic accounts of nursing practice. Fundamentals of Mental Health Nursing is a case-based and service user centred textbook for mental health nursing students. Designed to support students throughout their pre-registration studies, the text covers the essential knowledge required to provide high quality nursing care. Contributions from real service users and cases of fictional clients are explored in detail to provide excellent transferable skills for practice. Dedicated chapters explore fundamental nursing skills and mental health law before providing a case-based exploration of the areas and subjects that will be encountered by students in university and placement. Practice-based chapters introduce students to the needs of a diverse range of fictional clients and explain how the skills of communication, assessment, care planning and monitoring can be applied. Each chapter provides a sample care plan explaining why and how clinical decisions are made, so that students can develop their own skills and practice. The text opens with clear advice to help students succeed in their studies and concludes with a wealth of practical and thoughtful advice on becoming a professional and getting that first job. Online Resource Centre * Twenty one video clips of fictional service users demonstrate the application of theory and prepare students for real nursing practice * Quizzes, scenarios and a range of activities help students to apply their learning * Interactive glossary explains terminology and jargon * Sample CV's and self awareness exercises aid professional development
