The author reveals general tendencies of modern researches in the sphere of gender problems and with the help of systemic-and-structural analysis, comparison and generalization of pedagogical, psychological and ethnographic scientific sources investigates a social-and-historical aspect of development of society where gender formation of the person takes place. It was found in particular that at different stages of development of society, children in the process of gender socialization had common methods and goals of parental influence including training the obedience, responsibility for participation in household activities and in the performance of household duties; training the elder siblings to care for younger ones; forming the need to achieve results through competition and evaluation of the quality of performance; fostering independence, the ability to take care of themselves, not to depend on the help of others, to meet own needs and desires. The interdependence between the level of development of society and its attitude to children in general and the process of gender socialization in particular is revealed. The analysis of various sources gives grounds to assert that in different historical periods of society's development the attitude to children and the formation of skills of intersex communication were changing. The study of childhood history revealed a consistent rapprochement between a child and an adult. The analyzed researches allow us to conclude that the development of society complicates the spheres of life of the preschool child, affects the process of socialization and increases its value in culture. The combination of historical and pedagogical approaches with the achievements of modern science will provide real opportunities for the development of effective methods of forming valuable attitude towards preschool children.

The paper emphasizes the importance of gender education of preschool children, determined by changes in the sociocultural background, by shifting the emphasis in peoples value orientations. The preschool age is characterized by intense physiological maturation of the body and psyche development. Besides, the childs personality is formed exactly in the preschool age, the potential for successful further life is created. A great role in the gender education of preschoolers is played by socium and norms of social behavior, the value orientations that prevail in it at a given time. In this connection, the system of preschool education faces the problem of assimilating the childs social experience, meaningful for the life in society, and the adoption of the existing system of values. The mediator in the communication of the preschool child and the socium is the teacher of the pre-school educational organization, who must understand that the anatomo-morphological and physiological characteristics of the child of preschool age form only the first level of the hierarchical ladder of adulthood and entry into the society A big role in the gender socialization of preschool children is assigned to parents, because in the process of monitoring the behavior of their parents, the child develops certain behavioral stereotypes feminically and masculinely colored. The gender socialization of preschool children is greatly influenced by peers.

Gender socialization has an impact on children and any gender stereotyped verbal comments or activities assigned to children by those in charge are bound to influence the attitudes children have of themselves. This exploratory study therefore set out to investigate among 36 Kenyan preschool teachers if they hold gender-stereotyped views and if they communicate these views to children during selection and use of play materials. To collect data, an observation schedule was used. T-tests were then performed to find specific intergroup differences. Teachers were found to influence children in a gender stereotyped manner with more influence being exerted on boys than on girls. This influence on the children may encourage the children to adopt gender roles that are not always fair to both genders. This study therefore advocates for the encouragement and training of teachers to adopt an androgynous gender role attitude. In this way teachers may also encourage this same attitude in preschool children.

Healthcare professionals require a thorough understanding of stuttering since they frequently play an important role in the identification and differential diagnosis of stuttering for preschool children. This paper introduces The Preschool Stuttering Screen for Healthcare Professionals (PSSHP) which highlights risk factors identified in the literature as being associated with persistent stuttering. By integrating the results of the checklist with a child’s developmental profile, healthcare professionals can make better-informed, evidence-based decisions for their patients.

Although a general limited availability of expository texts currently exists in preschool special education classrooms, expository texts offer speech-language pathologists (SLPs) a rich context for addressing the language goals of preschool children with language impairment on their caseloads. Thus, this article highlights the differences between expository and narrative texts and describes how SLPs might use expository texts for targeting preschool children's goals related to listening comprehension, vocabulary, and syntactic relationships.
