A B S T R A C TSoil erosion is a very common problem in tropical areas such as the State of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). The objective of this study was to elaborate a map of soil erosion susceptibility by means of erodibility, erosivity, slope, geomorphology and soil use data, using the multi-criteria analysis, based on Hierarchical Process Analysis (AHP), in a basin in the state of Rio de Janeiro, the Lagos - São João basin. The map elaborated at the end of the study showed that the central areas of the basin are more susceptible to soil erosion. For the validation of this mapping, the kappa statistics and the Pearson correlation with values of 0.8 and 0.7 respectively were used. In order to help decision making for a better planning of the study area, a diagnosis of soil erosion - current state, defined in five stages was elaborated, where it was observed that about 30% of the basin already shows signs of severe erosion, corresponding to stages 4 and 5 defined in the study. Keywords: Erosion; São João Basin; AHP

This work presents a problematization about the local integration of refugees as one of the lasting solutions proposed by the UNHCR and the present challenges for the consolidation of policies of social protection for this segment in the state of Rio de Janeiro. This study was made through the bibliographic analisis and systematization of a workshop about the thematics carried with governamental and non-governamental agents and leaderships in the refugee population in the occasion of the seminar Mobility Crossroads: knowledge and practices in protection policies for refugee populations and migrants in vulnerable situation, which occurred in November 2017, organized by Cátedra Sérgio Vieira de Mello of PUC-Rio.

This article examines the state of Islamic jurisprudence with regard to many sensitive issues, such as the status of women and minorities in Islam, Islam and Democracy, hudud punishments. The author explores the current state of Islamic discourse on jurisprudence and identifies three approaches-traditional, secular and reformist. The paper explores the positions of the traditional ulama and the reformist mujtahids on the mentioned topics and finds the reformist position more sensible and closer to the position of ihe Qur'an and Sunnah. This paper while advocating neo-ijtihad, makes an impressive case for the merit???? and Islamic credibility of the reformist jurisprudence.

The global economic development is, to a great extent, dependent on access to large amounts of cheap energy sources. The growing social awareness of ecology and the enormous damage to the Earth’s ecosystem due to the production of energy from conventional sources have forced fundamental changes in the energy sector. Renewable energy is considered to be an opportunity for such changes. The current state of the art allows such changes to be made without restricting economic development. Therefore, activities related to the energy transition are being taken all over the world. The European Union has definitely managed to achieve the most tangible effects in this regard. This article presents the findings of the research aimed at presenting the current state of renewable energy in the European Union and analyzing the changes reported in this sector in the last decade. The research was carried out using a selected set of 11 indicators characterizing renewable energy in individual countries. These indicators were selected on the basis of literature review and own studies of the state of renewable energy and its development prospects. Based on these indicators, changes in the energy structure of individual European Union countries between 2008–2018 were determined. The study is divided into two main stages. The principal components analysis (PCA) was used for the first analysis. In turn, the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) was adopted to assess the level of renewable energy development in the European Union countries. Both these methods and the extended statistical analysis were applied to determine the state of renewable energy development in the European Union countries in the studied period and to divide the Member States into classes with different levels of development. The results of the study showed that the EU countries are characterized by significant differences in the development of RES during the period in question. The unquestionable leaders in this respect are Sweden, Austria, Finland, and Latvia. Based on the findings, it is possible to evaluate the effects of activities related to renewable energy development and to prepare assumptions for future activities. Additionally, both the research and its findings broaden the knowledge of the directions of renewable energy development in individual European Union countries. This is particularly important in the context of changes related to the need to reduce harmful substance emissions and the implementation of the European Green Deal idea.

The main focus when improving business processes is on the analysis of material flow. Thorough analysis of the information flow and associated information systems is still undervalued. Working with inaccurate and/or obsolete data leads to incorrect outputs that negatively affect the entire control process. Analysis of the state of material has to go hand in hand with the information analysis. A mini audit of the information flow and information system can be carried out, which follows the classic principles of VSM (Value stream mapping), in order to make an initial analysis of the information flow and information system. Information about the current state of the process together with a measure how well it is represented by the model in the information system can be obtained thanks to this mini-audit. This article focuses on this mini-audit and briefly describes the auditing process. The details of how to create VSM maps is discussed with the main focus on an information flow where the key elements are the inputs and the outputs of the job orders for planning and production management. Attention is also focused on the form of delays in discrete-event recording in the production process which appear in the information system.

The state of the problem of processing agricultural waste as a newly forming industry for the disposal of such waste in conjunction with the development of the emerging industry of organic production and the market of organic fertilizers is considered. The issue is regarded in the interrelation of the regulatory, economic and technological components in their dynamics from the current state to the target (desired).
