Majapahit Hotel Surabaya is one of the Dutch colonial legacy and also a historical place forSurabayan people. The pure white nuance and the mixed of Art Nouveau and Art Decoarchitecture style of the hotel makes the hotel has its own uniqueness. Through theanalogy theory, the shapes that can describe the Majapahit Hotel is its architecture andinterior such as crystal lamp, symmetrical, flag terrace as one of the iconic construction ofthe hotel, geometric, arc line and clasic elegant. Those shapes become the style in thisfashion artwork which processed and can realize the Ready to Wear, Ready to WearDeluxe, and Haute Cotour the fashion artworks, which has been considered based on theexisted element and tenet. The creative creation process uses Tjok Instri Ratna CoraSudharsana design method named "FRANGIPANI, The Secret Steps of Art Fashion" whichconsist of ten steps of design fashion planning process.

Abstract. Canada’s rural idyll is embedded within the colonial legacy of a white settler society; however, little research has examined how class and gender uphold this articulation of rurality and whiteness. This article draws on ethnographic research with white, working-class rural youth to develop an intersectional analysis of rural imaginaries. The analysis shows how youth construct their own rural identities through racialized representations of urban and global “others.” I argue that these racist place-narratives must be understood in the context of competing discourses of rurality in Canada: the romanticized pure white rural of colonial history, and the pathologized poor white rural of a cosmopolitan future. Even as youth locate their gendered performances within the rural idyll, they are marked as “dirts” by their classed, rural status. By inscribing racist discourses onto others, youth resist the classist imagery projected onto their community and thereby re- claim a pure white rural idyll.

Conceptual design for the mechanical products is the most important and complex phase. Most of the human’s creativity is exhibited in this phase. So many researchers in the world have made researches on its theory and methodology. So far there exists an evident limitation for the modern conceptual design methodology. That is to say, the design scheme obtained form conceptual design is only one solution to the given design problem, which cannot guarantee the creativity and novelty of the design scheme. In order to improve the creativity of conceptual design, the re-creation process model for the intelligent conceptual design is presented in this paper based on function-behavior-structure model. This model expanded the problem’s solution space by degrading the space of behavior and granularity, and describing the behavior space using the more basic behavior. The key of re-creation process model is the transformation of behavior and granularity space. Taking the theory of quotient space as the math description tool, the transformation for the space of behavior and granularity is studied in detail in this paper. At last, an example is given to prove that it is easy to obtain the novel and creative design scheme applying the method presented in this paper.

Beginning with a functional program, the rational design method adopted by modernist architects took cognizance of neither cultural meaning nor context. Although criticized for these shortcomings by post-modern theorists, no means of introducing such concerns into the planning process has ever been proposed. This essay sets out a possible procedure ? based on the ancient theory of rhetoric ? that addresses these matters first, before turning to functional considerations. Its virtue is that it can be employed while otherwise leaving intact the prevailing method of design development.

This paper reports on an empirical study about how designers and design researchers applied a co-creation method to generate product-service-system (PSS) concepts in multi-stakeholder teams, to promote physical activities for elderly people in an EU project. This method is developed based on the Value Design method. The value design method consists of a workshop process and a set of generative research tools to support the value creation process. By analysing the workshop process, results from the end user value creating process, the stakeholder value creating process and the encounter process, this paper demonstrates how designers can use such a co-creation process together with the created generative research tools to enable the value creation for the purpose of adopting the PSS approach by the stakeholders and the end users. The results also showed that different social cultural contexts related to the field of interest determined the stakeholder network construction.

The construction of national law is one of the projects that has not been completed to this day in the Indonesian law. Legal development should ideally pay attention to existing legal sources, especially laws that have become community culture. The results of this study show that legal development must be able to produce legal product reforms to replace the Dutch colonial legacy regulations that do not reflect the values and interests of the Indonesian people and encourage the growth of government and national development activities that originate from Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution. Incorporating the living law in the development of national law is an accommodative policy so that the national law produced is truly a product that is able to protect and protect all heterogeneous components of the Indonesian nation with their different backgrounds and legal needs Keyword: The living law, the source of law, the development of national law, Islamic law

Due to the complexity of activities and interior elements in the studio-oriented learning environment, it is essential to apply the right method in all stages to ensure they proceed sequentially and systematically. This is because presently the in-depth design method associated with this learning environment has not been fully explored to fulfill user needs in accordance with the design project. Therefore, this research aims to determine the right method used to improve students learning quality in the teaching process at the Interior Design studio, to obtain better responses. This research was carried out using the CAR model proposed by Kemmis and Mc Taggart consisting of four components, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The result showed that after the re-planning process, a reflection in the form of a separate cycle is conducted. Furthermore, independent learning methods in a conducive environment are carried out based on the Studio Oriented Learning Environment (SOLE) method, with assessments conducted by lecturers and students in each assistance group. This research has the ability to improve students thinking ability sequentially and systematically, as well as increase their participation and collaboration in producing quality designs.
