Beginning with a functional program, the rational design method adopted by modernist architects took cognizance of neither cultural meaning nor context. Although criticized for these shortcomings by post-modern theorists, no means of introducing such concerns into the planning process has ever been proposed. This essay sets out a possible procedure ? based on the ancient theory of rhetoric ? that addresses these matters first, before turning to functional considerations. Its virtue is that it can be employed while otherwise leaving intact the prevailing method of design development.

</p> <p>&nbsp;</p><p>Traditionally, architecture design studio requires few exercises per semester for students to practice design method and develop design thinking. As design exercises often direct design approach and also establish expectation of outcome, there is no guaranty procedure or design method to follow in order to achieve the best outcome. Since design development heavily based on experience of operation and choice of approach, sensible thinking process is often involved and sets challenge for rational architectural pedagogy. This research aims to exam the design thinking process of students by setting up specific design exercise to avoid predictable operation process, in order to direct specific design approach according to established guidance for further development. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Integrated Product Development Process (IPDP) oriented for Assistive Technology (AT) usually engages multidisciplinary areas for design development. The involvement of professionals from different areas contributes to strengthening the IPDP phases, but a major barrier is the correct interpretation and understanding of the information shared by them, which allows the addressing of the product’s requirements and the feeding of the design structure. This paper aims to outline the first steps of the IPDP oriented for TA using the Integrated Definition Methods (IDEF) tool applied to a device design to assist in the training of athletes with visual disabilities. This step of the process focused on Object-Oriented Design Method (IDEF4) and Ontology Capture Method (IDEF5) from IDEF family. The result shows that through the use of the IDEF method oriented for the design of an AT product, the information sharing and the design global aspect to all team members was favored, promoting better communication.

Global warming is the impact of environmental degradation is the increasing average temperature of the earth's surface, including the atmosphere and the ocean. Architecture is the study of the reflection of human settlements with its surroundings so that it has a tendency to adapt to the environment through a variety of approaches in architectural design method is oriented to the environmentally friendly development. Architectural Ecology concept is the concept of building that takes into account the environmental balance of natural and man-made with the main elements, the building and the environment Academically, awareness of architecture students need to be directed to the development process-based ecological both quality and quantity. A discussion of the concept of eco-architecture useful for studying the ecology-based architectural design methods, identify potential and constraints of the tropical climate in the design development strategies that can be systematised as a learning method in the design of sustainable development. Method of discussion by comparing the theoretical analysis method browse through relevant precedent studies to determine the potential and environmental constraints as well as perceptions of the application of the concept of eco Architecture. The results were obtained from the study of theory Architectural Ecology of Heinz Frick and study precedent through the works of Kenneth Yeang and compared with traditional architecture. Summary of the second groove will be used as the draft approaches design strategies in the process of planning and designing environmentally friendly and can be recommended and implemented as a design methodology in learning to achieve sustainable development with an emphasis on quality local development in harmony with nature.

With their increasing emphasis on the importance of hands-on practice and gaining experience, the fields of engineering-design research and education appear to be entering a human-focused transition other fields like economics and decision making have emerged from in the recent past. In addition to the original, modernism-rooted desire for a rational science of design modelled on the natural sciences, this delay may be due the inherently strong association of engineering with science – i.e., ‘applied science.’ This research investigated whether there may instead be a science to the human involvement in design, of the human behaviours that often appear in actual engineering design practice. It surveyed published empirical studies in psychology, child development and other social and life sciences – as well as those within design research itself. Of particular interest were the designer behaviours and activities which did not follow the prescriptions of – or were prescribed against by – the traditional, rational-design methods: visualization, single-solution conjecturing, and intuition. Results from this survey showed comprehensively that environmental interactions and authentic design experiences activate latent design abilities and coping mechanisms that may be difficult to obtain otherwise. Without such interaction and the gaining of experience there can be no designing, so essentially design is a wholly human phenomenon. Rather than follow the rational-design method and prescribe against these design-enabling behaviours, then, it appears that a better pedagogical approach is to allow them to develop and mature – and let design novices become the experts they were meant to be.

Amphoteric amphiphilic compounds, due to their unique properties, may represent a group of safe and biocompatible surface-active agents for effective colloidal stabilization of nanoformulations. For this reason, the aim of this work was to develop and characterize the oil-in-water nanoemulsions based on two betaine-derived surfactants with high biodegradability, i.e., cocamidopropyl betaine and coco-betaine. In the first step, we investigated ternary phase diagrams of surfactant-oil-water systems containing different weight ratios of surfactant and oil, as the betaine-type surfactant entity (S), linoleic acid, or oleic acid as the oil phase (O), and the aqueous phase (W) using the titration-ultrasound approach. All the received nanoemulsion systems were then characterized upon droplets size (dynamic light scattering), surface charge (electrophoretic light scattering), and morphology (transmission electron as well as atomic force microscopy). Thermal and spinning tests revealed the most stable compositions, which were subjected to further kinetic stability analysis, including turbidimetric evaluation. Finally, the backscattering profiles revealed the most promising candidate with a size <200 nm for potential delivery of active agents in the future cosmetic, pharmaceutical, and biomedical applications.

Abstract: The COVID-19 virus, which was announced by the WHO as a global pandemic, made the government and the public begin to implement health protocols, including disinfection using special chemical liquids intended for inanimate objects. However, there are some misunderstandings about the use of disinfectant liquids in the human body that can endanger health. This is because the liquid used for disinfection contains chemicals, such as: diluted bleach (bleach solution), chlorine, ethanol, quaternary ammonium, and hydrogen peroxide which are harmful to the body. To eliminate these misunderstandings, the Disinfectman game was designed as an educational as well as entertainment media which is expected to eliminate misunderstandings about the use of disinfection fluids during the Covid-19 pandemic. The design method used in the development of this game is the ADDIE method which describes the systematic development of stages to get the results as needed. The stages in the ADDIE procedure are: analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation. This disinfectman game was developed using the game developer application Unity Game Engine which uses the C# programming language and the Adobe Photoshop application to create 2D assets. To ensure the game can be played, a black box test was carried out as an effort to find errors or bugs in the game, this test showed that in general the game ran smoothly. This game is based on WEB GL HTML5 which is played online on the itch.io site.
