Due to the requirements for matching the needs of employers with the job applicants’ skills, companies increasingly tend to use a key competency-based approach to select new marketers. The aim of this paper is to determine if the project-based learning method has helped developing economic university students’ key competencies that are essential in the marketing related jobs. For testing and developing such key competencies, the method of project-based learning have been implemented into the Marketing communication course at the Faculty of Economics, University of South Bohemia in Czech Republic. Results show that innovated course had a positive effect especially on the development of abilities to work effectively in team, assessing and analysing information or work independently.

The article deals with the most important factors which shape challenges for educational policy and directions of its reformation in transnational educational space. In context of global society formation educational policies of developed countries demonstrates experiences of development and implementation of transversal (transferable, transcultural) competencies as key competencies of the 21st century in order to generate collective nous, peace, social justice and sustainable economic development. As one of the main goals of key competencies development considered promotion lifelong learning; It emphasizes the need for situational, contextualize, projective teaching and constructivist approaches. Particular attention is paid to analysis of key competencies in the trans-European educational space, of transferable competencies as US educational strategy and transversal competencies as the strategies proposed by UNESCO.

The article substantiates the advantages of using educational traveling when studying the unit "Internet Information Resources" at the lessons of "Informatics" in the 9th grade. The authors analyzes the approaches that are the basis for teaching students to informatics: systemic, activitybased and competence-based. Special attention is paid to the formation of metasubject competencies, which include the ability to use the mastered intersubject concepts and universal educational actions in educational activities, the independence of planning and implementing educational activities based on personal priorities, and the organization of educational cooperation with students and teachers. These competencies will be needed by students both in everyday life and in their future profession. Tasks for small groups of students and a range of questions for their solution are given, criteria for the success of assignments are developed, examples of the results of the work of groups are given.
