Environmental problems, environmental awareness, and efforts to protect the environment are among the issues that concern the whole world and that need to be acted upon. Environmental concerns, which have come to the fore, especially in recent years, are closely related to the tourism sector. The main purpose of this research is to determine the moderator role of environmental interpretations in the relationship between planned behavior levels and environmental awareness perceptions of hotel employees. The sample of the research consists of 697 employees, who worked in five-star hotels in the Alanya region between the months of August and September 2020. As the data collection method in the research, the questionnaire technique has been preferred. As a result of the data obtained from the research, the Amos program was used to test the structural model. Respectively, these analyzes are reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, discriminant analysis, and regression analysis. As a consequence of the regression analysis conducted within the context of the study, it has been determined that the level of attitude, which is considered to be one of the planned behavior factors of the employees in the hotel enterprises, has a positive and significant effect on their environmental awareness. In addition, it has been determined that environmental interpretations have a moderating role in the relationship between the attitude levels and environmental awareness of the employees, participated in the research.

Purpose This research aims to test employee loyalty in the hotel industry, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study examines the relationship between leader support in building job satisfaction, trust and employee loyalty. Also, this research aims to test and explain the role of satisfaction and trust as mediator variables. Design/methodology/approach This research used a quantitative design by distributing questionnaires to 206 employees of the 97 hotels in Bali, Indonesia, particularly during pandemic Covid-19. The research data were then analyzed by using WarpPLS software. Findings The results revealed that leader support did not have a significant effect on loyalty. Satisfaction and trust act as double mediators in leaders’ support and loyalty relationships. Research limitations/implications Employees need leaders’ support to remain loyal to their organization in a slowdown situation due to the Covid-19 pandemic and its various challenges. Originality/value Research on the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on various sectors has been comprehensive. However, the research that invests in employee loyalty in the hospitality industry is still rare. This study analyzes the loyalty of hotel employees, particularly when the tourism sector is experiencing a slowdown. This study also examines the role of trust and satisfaction as mediating relationships between leaders’ support and loyalty, which have not been widely analyzed in previous studies.

The primary purpose of the present study is to demonstrate the moderator role of gender in the effect of the environmental commitment of hotel business employees on environmental responsibility behaviour. The Scanning Method was applied in the study. The sampling of the study consisted of 397 employees working in five-star hotel businesses in the Antalya region between September and October 2019. The Questionnaire form was preferred as the data collection tool in the study. The data obtained as a result of the study were subjected to statistical analyses. These analyses were frequency analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis, and regression analysis. As a result of the regression analysis, it was found that the environmental commitment levels of employees in hotel businesses had a positive and moderate effect on environmental responsibility behaviour. It was also found that gender had a moderator role in the effect of environmental commitment in employees on environmental responsibility behaviour.

Organizational change is one of the most effective ways to achieve a competitive advantage. However, little is known about “how business size moderates the relationship between organizational change and competitive advantage”. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of organizational change on competitive advantage and to find out whether business size moderates the relationships between organizational change and competitive advantage. Data obtained from employees working in Chabahar-Industrial Zone in Iran. A total of 233 valid questionnaires were received from the firms operating in this zone. Data was analyzed by employing descriptive statistics, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), and Linear Regression techniques. The moderator role of business size was assessed by PROCESS software. Findings revealed that organizational change has positive effect on competitive advantage. And, business size plays a moderating role on the relationships between organizational change and competitive advantage.

The purpose of this study was to: (a) investigate the actual positions in digital communications; (b) assess the relationship between position-congruity among intended positions (i.e., how a firm desires to be perceived by consumers), actual brand positions, and perceived brand positions (i.e., the perceptions that customers have in their minds); and (c) understand the role of actual positioning (AP) in the positioning process. Multiple methods (one-on-one and focus group interviews, content analysis) were applied to analyze positions. Brand managers, golf consumers, and digital advertisements in Golf Digest magazine were sampled. Content analysis, frequencies and percentages, percentage difference, and regression analysis were performed for all positions for each research brand. The results revealed that: (a) tangibility-based positions (88.5%: great quality, innovation) outnumbered intangibility-based ones (11.5%: tour performance, tradition) in digital AP, (b) there was no positive correlation between the degree of congruence between intended and AP and the degree of congruence between intended and perceived positioning, and (c) the AP mediated between intended and perceived positioning in the brand positioning model. The study provides empirical evidence for the mediating role of AP and suggests modifications to the previous positioning process.

AbstractThis study examines the effect of perceived organisational politics on organisational silence through the mediating role of organisational cynicism. In addition, it tests the effect of perceived support on this relationship. A quantitative (questionnaire survey) design was used to gather data from 346 employees in three public hospitals in Iraq. The structural equation model was used for data analysis. The results demonstrate that all the major hypotheses were accepted, and important role of perceived support in reversing the positive relationship between perceived organisational politics and organisational cynicism was also highlighted. Furthermore, the mediating role was clear in terms of organisational cynicism and the relationship between perceived organisational politics and organisational silence.

AbstractThis study had two main aims. (1) To examine the role of discretionary effort (DE) in the multidimensional performance domain consisting of in-role behaviour (IRB) and organisational citizenship behaviour (OCB); and (2) to assess whether skills and autonomy are important predictors of DE and show variance in common with DE over and above IRB and OCB. A managers/supervisors sample (n = 476) and a sample with both managerial and nonmanagerial employees (n = 424) were employed. Confirmatory factor analyses showed that the three factor hierarchical model was superior compared to three other models tested, indicating that DE is a separate construct to both IRB and OCB but together with these forms part of the performance domain. Regression analysis showed that both skills and autonomy are important predictors of DE; however, only autonomy explained variance in DE over and above IRB, OCB and skills. Together these results add to the construct validity of DE. Implications and suggestions for future research are discussed.

This study explores consumers’ motivations to switch to new products in the context of disruptive innovation and investigates the role of comparative economic value and green trust. Switching from an existing product to a disruptive green product not only involves benefits but also requires major sacrifices, which are not encountered in the context of continuous innovation. In this study, the relationships between comparative economic value, green trust, self-accountability, and disruptive green product switching intent are examined. Data were collected from China with self-administered questionnaires regarding the disruptive green product. Results of a structural model reveal positive relationships between comparative economic value, green trust, and disruptive green product switching intent. In addition, green trust mediates the effects of the comparative economic value on the disruptive green product switching intent, and self-accountability moderates the relationship between green trust and disruptive green product switching intent. From a practitioner perspective, the research is important because it illuminates the consumer’s motivations regarding product switching in the hitherto unexplored field of automobiles, for which we have shown that our extended model yields meaningful results.

ABSTRACT The research examines the role of time pressure as moderating variable to the relationship between functional value and emotional value on purchase intention on flash sale product. Data for this research were collected by online survey and administered to 150 respondents. The hypothesis testing was conducted using multiple regression analysis and hierarchical regression analysis. Finding of this indicated that functional value and emotional value have positive and significant effect on purchase intention. Time pressure has no negatively moderated the effect of functional value and emotional value on purchase intention. Data di kumpulkan melalui survey online dengan 150 responden. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis regresi berganda dan analsisi regresi hirarki. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukan bahwa nilai fungsional dan nilai emosional berpengaruh terhadap niat beli. Abstract Background: LINC00634 is highly expressed in esophageal cancer, and its depletion can suppress the viability and induce the apoptosis of esophageal cancer cells. However, there is a lack of studies that examine the relationship between LINC00634 expression and the clinicopathological features, survival outcomes, prognostic factors and tumor immune cell infiltration of colorectal carcinoma (CRC) patients.Objective: We aim at investigating the role of LINC00634 in colorectal carcinoma.Methods: We obtained data from the TCGA (The Cancer Genome Atlas) public database, GTEx (Genotype-Tissue Expression) database and clinical samples. Wilcoxon rank-sum test, Kruskal-Wallis test and logistic regression analysis were employed to assess the relationship between LINC00634 expression and the clinicopathological characteristics of CRC patients. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was constructed to evaluate the ability of LINC00634 for distinguishing between CRC patients and normal subjects based on the area under the curve (AUC) score. Univariate and multivariate analyses were conducted to evaluate the association between prognostic factors and survival outcomes. Kaplan-Meier curves and Cox regression analysis were employed to determine the contribution of LINC00634 expression to the prognosis of colorectal carcinoma patients. Immune infiltration analysis and Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA) were conducted to identify the significantly involved functions of LINC00634. Finally, a nomogram was constructed for internal verification based on the Cox regression data.Results: The expression of LINC00634 was upregulated in CRC patients, and markedly associated with N stage, residual tumor, pathological stage, and overall survival (OS) event. ROC curve showed that LINC00634 had strong diagnostic and prognostic abilities (AUC=0.74). The high expression of LINC00634 could predict poor disease specific survival (DSS; P=0.008) and poor overroll survival (OS;P<0.01). The expression of LINC00634 was independently associated with OS in CRC patients (P=0.019). GSEA and immune infiltration analysis demonstrated that LINC00634 expression was involved in gene transcription, epigenetic regulation and the functions of certain types of immune infiltrating cells. The c-index of the nomogram was 0.772 (95%CI: 0.744-0.799).Conclusions: Our study reveals that LINC00634 can serve as a potential prognostic biomarker for CRC patients.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to explore the contours of fairness by showing how different facets of fairness impact three important employee outcomes (job satisfaction, turnover intention and employer advocacy) and examining the mediating role of quality of management and leadership (through perceptions of both senior management and the quality of exchange with immediate supervisors) in attenuating negative impacts of unfairness on these outcomes. The study extends the concept of fairness beyond the traditional focus on organizational justice and models the mediating role of leadership on the relationship between (un)fairness and the three employee-level outcomes in a sample of employees representative of the UK workforce. Design/methodology/approach – Data were obtained from a nationally representative sample of 2,067 employees in the UK. Exploratory factor analysis and then confirmatory factor analysis is used to refine three unfairness factors and address their dimensionality of the unfairness scale and then multiple regression analysis is used to test a fairness-leadership-employee performance outcome model. Findings – Results of multiple regression analysis revealed that both trust in leadership and leader-member exchange partially mediate the relationship between organizational (un)fairness and job satisfaction, advocacy and turnover intention, respectively. Practical implications – The findings highlight the important role that leaders play in influencing the relationship between perception of unfairness and employee outcomes. This has implications for both theory and practice as it suggests that the pattern of inclusion that leaders create through the relationships that they develop with their followers has a significant impact on the relationship between unfairness and the work outcomes. They not only must manage traditional perceptions of justice, but also the assessments employees make about trust in management judgements and the perceived consequences of such judgements. Originality/value – In an environment where perceptions of unfairness are becoming both more endemic but also more complex, the study shows that both senior leaders and immediate supervisors have important agency in managing negative consequences. Through the measurement of satisfaction, turnover intention and employer advocacy it also provides potential links to link fairness into the engagement literature.
