Fatty acid adalah salah satu bagian dari produk industri oleochemical. Salah satu industri hilir yang bergerak pada produksi fatty acid (asam lemak) adalah PT. Domas Agrointi Prima. Pada PT. Domas Agrointi Prima fatty acid diproduksi di fatty acid-1 plant. Untuk menghasilkan fatty acid yang sesuai spesifikasi pasar, maka perlu dilakukannya proses pemisahan dan pemurnian pada kolom distilasi/fraksinasi. Salah satu produk utama pada fatty acid-1 plant adalah fatty acid yang banyak mengandung asam oleat (C18:1) yang dipisahkan dan dimurnikan pada kolom distilasi 105D4. Penelitian ini menganalisa performa kolom distilasi 105D4 pada fatty acid-1 plant PT. Domas Agrointi Prima dengan mensimulasikan proses pemisahan dan pemurnian fatty acid ke dalam aspen hysys dengan mentuning variabel suhu top column, suhu side column, suhu bottom column, pressure top dan pressure bottom yang bermaksud untuk meninjau laju alir fatty acid yang berhasil dikeluarkan pada setiap aliran, yield fatty acid aliran destilat, dan konsentrasi asam oleat pada aliran destilat untuk mendapatkan performa yang paling optimal dari kinerja kolom distilasi 105D4 dalam proses pemisahan dan pemurnian fatty acid. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini yield produk fatty acid pada distillate stream yang paling maksimal didapatkan pada run ke 6 yaitu sebesar 99,22%. Konsentrasi asam oleat pada produk yang keluar melalui distillate stream yang paling maksimal didapatkan pada run ke 6 yaitu sebesar 57,95%. Kondisi operasi kolom distilasi 105D4 yang paling optimal didapatkan pada simulasi run ke 6, dimana untuk suhu top column sebesar 189,35 oC , suhu side column sebesar 210,65 oC, suhu bottom column sebesar 223,69 oC, tekanan top column sebesar 9,58 mBar dan tekanan bottom column sebesar 11,87 mBar.

PT. XYZ is a factory engaged in processing of palm oil derivatives in producing a fatty acid. The machines used in the processing process at PT. Permata Hijau Palm Oleo KIM II Mabar generate the noise. This research aimed to find out the existing noise level and noise mapping, also the proposal of noise control on the production floor. Then, the data collection method conducted through observation using the equivalent noise level (Leq) method and noise mapping was through surfer 14. The data collection conducted in 16 points on the production floor. Furthermore, the result and noise distribution pattern showed that the high noise level was in several points, those were point 5 (85.77); point 6 (86.82); point 7 (86.33), point 8 (88.18); point 10 (86.96); point 13 (86.85); point 14 (87.67). The allowed threshold value refers to the Decree of the Minister of Manpower and Transmigration No.Per.13/MEN/X/2011 is 85 dB. Thus, the company needs to perform noise control such as barrier usage, regularly and scheduled machine maintenance to prevent and decrease the effect of the noise

This work presents a theoretical investigation of the simulation of Sulfuric acid process plant. In the production of the acid in contact process liquid sulfur is sequentially oxidized to Sulfur tri oxide via an exothermic reaction which is absorbed by 98% Sulfuric acid in an absorption tower. In this research Aspen One V7.2 has been successfully used to design every sub-process of the sulfuric acid plant in one integrated environment. In order to simulate the process as accurately as possible COM thermo was selected as advanced thermodynamics. Electrolyte NRTL and Peng-Robinson were used for liquid and vapor phase respectively as fluid package and HYSYS properties were used for simulation. The simulation of sulfuric acid process included automatic chemistry generation and the capacity of handling electrolyte reactions for all unit models. Aspen-HYSYS provides specialized thermodynamics models and built-in data to represent the non-ideal behavior of liquid phase components in order to get accurate results. Material and energy flows, sized unit operations blocks can be used to conduct economic assessment of each process and optimize each of them for profit maximization. The simulation model developed can also be used as a guide for understanding the process and the economics, and also a starting point for more sophisticated models for plant designing and process equipment specifying. Makalah ini mengkaji besarnya tegangan yang terjadi pada sistem perpipaan, beban pada nosel pompa dan tegangan lokal pada evaporator. Kajian bersifat statik tersebut dilakukan karena adanya kesalahan instalasi penempatan evaporator yang tidak sesuai perencanaan. Analisa tegangan yang dilakukan mencakup tegangan akibat beban sustain dan tegangan akibat beban ekspansi thermal. Analisa tegangan sistem perpipaan mengacu pada ketentuan ASME B31.3, analisa beban nosel pompa mengacu pada ketentuan API 610, dan analisa tegangan lokal pada evaporator mengacu pada ketentuan WRC 107. Dari hasil analisa tegangan diperoleh bahwa besarnya tegangan akibat beban sustain dan ekspansi thermal masih memenuhi kriteria tegangan ijin. Dari hasil analisa beban nosel pada pompa diketahui nilai yang melebihi ketentuan ijin, dan dari hasil analisa tegangan lokal diketahui besarnya tegangan lokal nosel evaporator masih memenuhi besarnya tegangan ijin. Sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa efek pergeseran posisi evaporator saat instalasi menyebabkan besarnya beban nosel pompa berlebih, namun dari sisi tegangan sistem perpipaan tidak megalami perubahan siknifikan.

The structural damage of molecules irradiated by electrons is generally considered to occur in two steps. The direct result of inelastic scattering events is the disruption of covalent bonds. Following changes in bond structure, movement of the constituent atoms produces permanent distortions of the molecules. Since at least the second step should show a strong temperature dependence, it was to be expected that cooling a specimen should extend its lifetime in the electron beam. This result has been found in a large number of experiments, but the degree to which cooling the specimen enhances its resistance to radiation damage has been found to vary widely with specimen types.

Cyanobacteria are Gram negative prokaryotes that are capable of oxygenic photosynthesis. Although there are many similarities between eukaryotes and cyanobacteria in electron transfer and phosphorylation during photosynthesis, there are two features of the photosynthetic apparatus in cyanobacteria which distinguishes them from plants. Cyanobacteria contain phycobiliproteins organized in phycobilisomes on the surface of photosynthetic membrane. Another difference is in the organization of the photosynthetic membranes. Instead of stacked thylakolds within a chloroplast envelope membrane, as seen In eukaryotes, IntracytopIasmlc membranes generally are arranged in three to six concentric layers. Environmental factors such as temperature, nutrition and light fluency can significantly affect the physiology and morphology of cells. The effect of light Intensity shifts on the ultrastructure of Internal membrane in Anabaena variabilis grown under controlled environmental conditions was examined. Since a major constituent of cyanobacterial thylakolds are lipids, the fatty acid content also was measured and correlated with uItrastructural changes. The regulation of fatty acid synthesis in cyanobacteria ultimately can be studied if the fatty acid content can be manipulated.
