 Background: The incessant promotion of fast food make a perception that fast food is a trend among teenager.  Fast food consumption habits that have high calorie but low nutrients will causes nutritional problems in adolescents. Objectives: The purpose of this study aimed to determine effect of nutritional education based on theory of planned behavior to change knowledge, attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, intention, and limited fast food consumption among female students in Sidoarjo. Methods: This study was interventional quasi-experimental research. 32 female students (each 16 female students for interventional group and 16 female students for control group), were selected by simple random sampling. The education was provided based on theory of planned behavior in four sessions. The researcher-made questionnaire based on theory of planned behavior used for data collection.The questionnaire was completed by the students twice, before and three weeks after the implementation of nutritional education. Data were analyze using descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney, and Wilcoxon Signed Ranks. Result: The results of this study show nutrition education based on theory of planned behavior influence knowledge (p<0.001), attitude (p<0.001), subjective norms (p=0.002), perceived behavioral control (p<0.001),intention (p<0.001), but doesn’t influence limited fast food consumption (p=0.570). Conclusion: Nutritional education based on the theory of planned behavior influence knowledge, attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and intention, but not effect to limited fast food consumption. So, nutrition education designed based on TPB effective to be implementation of health promotion.ABSTRAK Latarbelakang: Gencarnya promosi fast food  menimbulkan persepsi bahwa makanan cepat saji merupakan tren dikalangan remaja. Kebiasaan konsumsi makanan cepat saji yang mempunyai tinggi kalori namun rendah zat gizi menimbulkan masalah gizi lebih dan defisiensi zat gizi mikro pada remaja.Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendidikan gizi berbasis Theory of Planned Behavior terhadap perubahan pengetahuan, sikap, norma subyektif, perceived behavioral control, intensi, dan konsumsi membatasi fast food pada siswi di SMA Negeri 2 Sidoarjo.  Metode: Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan metode quasy experimental pada 32 siswi (16 siswi kelompok kontrol dan 16 siswi kelompok perlakuan) dipilih menggunakan simple random sampling. Pendidikan gizi berbasis TPB dilakukan selama 4 sesi yiatu sesi sikap, norma subyektif, PBC, dan intensi. Kuesioner penelitian yang digunakan untuk meneliti berbasis TPB. This study explores drivers of fast-food consumption in Romania using the Theory of Planned Behavior. We analyze 532 responses to an online survey and use partial least squares path modeling to estimate the relationships between the intention to consume fast food and its possible determinants. Our results show that the most significant predictor is the subjective norms (injunctive norms: β = 0.218, p < 0.001; descriptive norms: β = 0.192, p < 0.001). Among the affective and cognitive attitudes, only the latter is statistically significant in predicting the intention (β = 0.088, p = 0.020), while perceived behavioral control is not significantly associated with intention toward fast-food consumption. We explain how our results can help policymakers to design better interventions on public health concerns about fast-food consumption and population obesity, especially children obesity.

Over the last decade, fast food industries in china have dramatically increased. Several international enterprises have moved and expand their brands in china markets and trade-holders since 1990. This paper discusses the Chinese fast food consumption and supply and will give account to the factors affecting it favorably like the increase in household income, changes in Chinese lifestyle, growth in population size, emergence of many foreign brands and players, technological advancement, and the introduction of franchising regulations. It will also highlighted on the increasing health concerns, which could possibly affect the Chinese fast food consumption and supply in the longer run. The paper also talk about the elasticity of demand and how the availability of many substitutes will make demand highly elastic in the Chinese fast food industry, which shall imply that any slight change in prices of fast food products by any company will affect demand for that company’s product adversely to other substitutes / company products. Finally, we discuss the Chinese fast food non-collaborative oligopolistic market structure.

Background; Unhealthy dietary patterns or fast-food consumption increase the probability of physical health problems. Junk food consumption effect the physical appearance as well as can be the cause of mental illness. Aim: The main aim of the study is o observe the perception of junk food consumption and the associated physical and mental health problems. Methodology; The data was collected using self-designed questionnaire on junk food consumption and related mental or physical issues. The questionnaire was distributed physically to the students with their written consent. The data was collected from 200 students enrolled at a private medical college in Lahore. The data was analyzed and chi-square test of association was used to observe and any link between junk food consumption and health issues. Results; It was seen that 90% of the total female students were ate fast food while, it was evident in 96% for the male students in comparison to female students. The overall fast-food consumption is 70%. It was seen that fast food consumption has been significantly associated with mental health. Fast food consumption was also found to be associated with less physical wellbeing and risk of obesity. Conclusion; Male students were found to be more involved in junk food consumption. The significance link of fast-food intake was observed with progress in mental health. Intake of fast food also found to be associated with anger and depression. Consumption of fast-food increases the risk for weight gain and obesity. Keywords: Consumption, Fast food, Junk food, Obesity, Risk.

The objective of this research is to identify factors affecting sustainable food consumption behavior among Malaysians. An extension of the theory of planned behavior (TPB) is used as the framework of the study. Perceived value is also added to the framework to gain an understanding of consumer’s personal factors’ effect on sustainable food consumption. This study tested eight hypotheses on sustainable food consumption behavior with empirical data from a sample of 220 adults. The regression analysis results show that social norm, perceived value, perceived consumer effectiveness, and attitude have significant impacts on intention to consumer sustainable food. Perceived availability, perceived consumer effectiveness and intention also have significant impacts on actual behavior. The findings of this study can provide certain grounds for understanding sustainable food consumption intention and behavior. Research limitations and some guidelines for further lines of research are presented. In a global context the findings of this study is important, as consumption patterns need to be changed to meet the climate challenge.
