The aim of this study was to describe the differences of students' problem-solving abilities in completing mathematics problem in the form of story-based problems in terms of gender difference. The type of research used is qualitative and quantitative descriptive research using research instruments, namely tests of problem-solving abilities and interview. Selection of subjects using a random cluster random technique, based on teacher considerations. The subjects in this study were 26 students of class IX of SMPN 8 Mataram in the academic year of 2020/2021. The data collection method started from making observations at school, then distributing the problem-solving ability test which contains 2 problems in the form of elaborative questions. AT the last stage, the researcher conducted interviews with 6 people who were obtained from each representative of the criteria for the test results of the problem-solving abilities that had been given. The data analysis technique in this study was conducted by looking at the test scores of mathematics problem-solving abilities seen from the criteria of high, moderate, and low. The results obtained were: (1) the ability of female students in grade IX at SMPN 8 Mataram to solve mathematics problems related to the statistical topic in form of story-based problems was in moderate criteria with the average score obtained was 73.44, (2) the ability of male students in grade IX at SMPN 8 Mataram to solve mathematics problems related to the statistical topic in form of story-based problems was in moderate criteria with the average score obtained was 77,64, and (3) the difference in problem-solving abilities of male and female students lies on the steps used in solving mathematics problems based on Polya problem solving stages.

The ability to solve mathematics problems is an ability needed in the learning process. Mathematic anxiety and student learning styles are among the factors that influence the success of mathematics problem-solving ability. By paying attention to mathematics anxiety and learning styles possessed by students, it is expected that the ability to solve mathematics problems will increase. This research is a field research type with an Ex Post Facto method and multiple linear regression statistical data analysis techniques. Data was collected through mathematics anxiety questionnaires, student learning style questionnaires, and mathematics problem-solving skills of students at Madrasah Aliyah level. The results show that (1) there is no significant effect of mathematics anxiety on the ability to solve mathematics problems with the tcount is 1.537 and the significance level is 0.126 ≥ 0.05. (2) there is a positive and significant effect of learning styles on the ability to solve mathematics problems with the value of tcount is 2.457 and a significance level of 0.015 <0.05.

This research aims to increase the responsibility of students in grade V to Negeri 11 Bengkulu by applying the Learning Cycle learning model. This research is a classroom action research. The subjects of this study were 28 students consisting of 14 male students and 14 female students. The research procedure is in the form of a cycle. Each cycle consists of four stages including planning, implementing actions, observing and reflecting. The research instrument was in the form of observation sheets of teacher and student activities. The data analysis technique used is the observation sheet using the formula of the average score, the highest score, the lowest score, the difference in score and the range of values for each criterion. Thus the application of the Learning Cycle model can increase the responsibility of VB grade students in Sd Negeri 11 Bengkulu City.

<p>The purpose of this research is to determine the Impacts of Metacognitive Strategy on Mathematics Problems Solving. Design used true experiment design in the form of posttest only control design. This research was done by taken two class consists of 50 students with random class sampling. Data collcection used mathematics problem solving test in the form of essay test, all questions of test was validated empirically. Data analyze used t test, after the data fulfill a series tests i.e. normality test and homogeneity test. The result is t <sub>test</sub>= 7.23 in distribution table for ?=0.05, t <sub>table</sub> = 1.74, so it can be concluded that there are significant impacts of metacognitive strategy on Mathematics Problem solving.</p>

The study is a classroom action research which aims at describing (1) the improvement of Mathematics learning result through problem solving approach by Polya strategy of class XI IPA students at SMAN 2 Kalukku, (2) the improvement of Mathematics problem solving skill by Polya strategy. The subject is students of class XI IPA of SMAN 2 Kalukku, as many as 31 people consisted of 11 male and 20 female students. The technique used to analyze the data is qualitative and quantitative analyses. The qualitative data is used on students’ activities while the quantitative data is used on students’ learning achievement and students’ response. The results indicate that (1) the application of problem solving approach by Polya strategy can improve students’ learning achievement on Mathematics indicated by the descriptive analysis of the average score of students’ learning achievement 65.42 at cycle I to 75.06 at cycle II; (2) the application of problem solving approach by Polya strategy can improve students’ problem solving skill on Mathematics indicated by percentage descriptive analysis, which is problem comprehension stage 83.87% at cycle I to 90.32% at cycle II, problem solving planning stage 87.10% at cycle I to 96.77% at cycle II,

The aim of this study was to describe and to test the effect of problem solving learning model oriented toward Balinese local wisdom (PSBLW) and type of mathematics problems (open and closed problems) on the ability to solve mathematics problem of the fifth grade students of elementary in Singaraja. This quasi-experimental research used non-equivalent control group design with pretest and posttest. The data were analyzed with factorial 2x2 analysis of covariance (Anacova). The sample consisted of the fifth grade students of Elementary School with the total of 152 students spread into 4 classes. The sample was selected by cluster random sampling. The data were collected using mathematics problem solving ability test at the 5% significance level (α = 0.05). The statistical analysis was done with the aid of SPSS 16.0 for Windows. The results showed that (1) the ability, may to solve mathematics problems of the students who learned through PSBLW is higher than those who learned through direct instructional model; (2) the students’ability to solve problems facilitated with open mathematics problems was higher than that with closed mathematics problems. The conclusion is local wisdom-oriented problem solving learning model efective to improve mathematical problem solving ability.

This research aims to determine the effect of Think Talk Write (TTW) cooperative learning model towards the ability of mathematics problem solving of grade XI MIA SMA NW Mataram academic year 2019/2020. Type of the research is a quasi-experimental design with a posttest only control design. The population of the research is all students grade XI MIA SMA NW Mataram academic year 2019/2020. The sampling technique was saturated sampling tecnique, so the sample obtained that XI MIA 1 as the experimental class and XI MIA 2 as the controlling class. The instrument used was a test of the students learning achievement (post-test) on the sequence and series  material. Quantitave analysis obtained by using t-test. The result of this research showed that there is a difference in the average score of students who get learning use the Think Talk Write (TTW) cooperative learning models with students who use direct learning. Meanwhile the effect of Think Talk Write (TTW) cooperative learning model towards the ability of mathematics problem solving of using the effect size with moderate category. This means that the Think Talk Write (TTW) type of cooperative learning models is quite influential on the mathematics problem solving ability of grade XI MIA SMA NW Mataram.

[English]: The purpose of this study is to explore the mathematization underpinnings of prospective mathematics teacher’s on mathematics problem solving. This study used explorative research with a qualitative approach. The instruments used in this study were mathematical ability test, contextual problems, and interview guidelines. A prospective mathematics teacher who has high mathematics ability involved in this study.The subject was selected from 56 prospective mathematics teachers through a test. After the subject solved contextual problems, an interview was conducted. The result revealed that the prospective mathematics teacher did mathematization when  solving the contextual problem by simplifying, solving in a structural way, and fitting to the context of the problem. This finding implies that mathematizationc ould reveal the way prospective mathematics teacher formulates contextual problems into mathematical problems. Keywords: Mathematization, Prospective mathematicsteacher,  Problem-solving, Contextual problems [Bahasa]: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi matematisasi yang mendasari mahasiswa calon guru matematika dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian eksploratif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan matematika, masalah kontekstual, dan pedoman wawancara. Subjek penelitian adalah seorang calon guru matematika dengan kemampuan matematika tinggi yang dipilih dari 56 calon guru matematika dengan menggunakan tes kemampuan matematika. Setelah subjek penelitian menyelesaikan masalah kontekstual, dilakukan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa calon guru matematika melakukan matematisasi yang sangat penting karena menyelesaikan masalah matematika dengan menyederhanakan masalah, menyelesaikan masalah secara terstruktur, dan diarahkan sesuai dengan konteks yang ada dalam masalah. Temuan dalam penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa melalui matematisasi dapat diketahui cara mahasiswa dalam merumuskan masalah kontekstual ke dalam soal matematis. This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on the mathematics problem solving ability of students in 4th grade primary school Pasi Pinang. This research uses a quantitative approach, with the type of research is quasi experimental. The population in this study were all fourth grade students of primary school Pasi Pinang and the sampling technique in this study was selected by total sampling of two classes. The experimental class was treated with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model and the control class was treated with the expository learning model. The instruments used consisted of a learning motivation questionnaire and a math problem solving ability test. Data analysis was carried out using two-way ANOVA. From the results of this study, it was obtained that the average result of the mathematics problem solving ability taught by the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model was 82.16 while the average result of the mathematics problem solving ability taught by the expository learning model was 71. , 36. So it can be concluded that the results of the mathematics problem solving ability of students who are taught with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model are higher than students who are taught with the Expository learning model.
