Abstract High level stress in work place is known to be associated with negative organizational behaviors and bad organizational performance. There are individual and organizational factors influencing stress coping behavior of employees. In this study we explore the impact of employees’ perceptions of organizational support on their stress coping capabilities (problem-focused stress coping and emotion-focused stress coping) and whether their psychological capital (PsyCap) plays a mediating role in this relationship using the sample of employees in special education and rehabilitation centers in Turkey. Multivariate statistical analyses show a significant positive relationship between perceived organizational support (POS) and problem-focused stress coping (PFSC), and no significant relationship between POS and emotion-focused stress coping (EFSC). A significant positive association is detected between POS and PsyCap. Accordingly, our findings show that PsyCap plays a partial mediating role in the association between POS and PFSC.

Background: Nurse turnover is a problem that occurs in hospitals. The high turnover of nurses in health facilities can have a negative impact on the needs of the patients and on the quality of the health services. The turnover of nurses thus becomes a serious challenge to the efficiency, effectiveness and productivity of the health services. The aim of the systematic review was conducted to examine the impact of perceived organization support when it came to increasing the intention to stay.Method: A systematic search was conducted using articles from Scopus, Science Direct and SAGE. The search identified 15 original articles and full texts published between 2014 and 2019.Result: Nurses with high perceived organizational support with their organization have a lower intention to leave the organization. POS is the key predictor of turnover intention. Conclusion: POS can reduce turnover, especially for nurses. The positive perception of the organization can decrease turnover intention. POS that is felt strongly will affect the work performance of the nurses by increasing their intention to stay. This can the reduce hospital costs when it comes to having to recruitment new nurses.

In the recent times, researchers have shown an increased interest in positive psychological capital (PsyCap). However, it is acknowledged that due to the limited number of studies conducted on the antecedents of psychological capital, there is a lack of sufficient data for conclusively proving the antecedents of PsyCap. Consequently, this article aims to explore the potential antecedents of PsyCap as a reliable source of data in the context of rural school teachers. The focus is to investigate both the individual differences and the contextual factors as desirable variables that constitute PsyCap among the school teachers of rural Jharkhand, India. Samples of 1,120 respondents from different rural schools were collected and analysed with Structural Equation Modeling (AMOS 20.0). The findings of the study explained that both the individual differences ( proactive personality and emotional intelligence) and the contextual factors ( perceived organizational support, servant leadership and meaningful work) have a positive relationship with PsyCap. The impact of PsyCap on teacher performance can form the basis for further research on the subject. JEL Codes: M12, M53
