  The survival ability and development of the free living stages of Dictyocaulus. filaria larvae were studied to understand the epidemiology of this parasite in irrigation system . Galvanised iron boxes were planted and containated at subsequent times by faeces containing the larvae. Then faecal , soil and pasture samples were examined weekly, climatic conditions were recorded in  Baghdad area.  The results showed that the free living larvae survived and migrated from the faeces to the soil and pasture in the squares of the 2 nd group of boxes which has been contaminated in January for a longer period in comparison with other groups. The larvae survived until the 1 st week of April in their faecal , soil and pasture samples. On the other hand , no larvae could be recovered after one week of contamination in the fifth group of boxes which has been contaminated in July. In the other groups of boxes, the larvae survived for (98) days in the 1 st group , (49) days in the 3 rd group and for (21) days in the 4 th group, however, the number of larvae in the soil and pasture in all groups was lower than that in the faeces, and the presence of larvae in the soil was recovered for short time  The climatic condition during December , January , Febreuary and March had good influence on the survivability and moulting of the larvae in comparison with the adverse effect of other months . *Part of his M.Sc. Abstract The Educator as a Manager. A Critical View In the following article tasks and motifs of the educator as manager are described. It is clear that there are other educator metaphors and associated behaviors. To some extent, the actions of the different educator metaphors overlap, but they differ in their purpose and perspective on the educational process and the person to be educated. First, a short time diagnosis is made, which describes the context of this metaphor of the educator as manager. Subsequently, on the one hand, the various motifs, tasks and objectives of an educator as manager are discussed. On the other hand, it is asked if it is possible in the current discourse to take a different perspective on the educational process.

Herein we describe the development and optimization of a two-step procedure for the synthesis of N-protected 1-aminomethylphosphonium salts from imides, amides, carbamates, or lactams. Our “step-by-step” methodology involves the transformation of amide-type substrates to the corresponding hydroxymethyl derivatives, followed by the substitution of the hydroxyl group with a phosphonium moiety. The first step of the described synthesis was conducted based on well-known protocols for hydroxymethylation with formaldehyde or paraformaldehyde. In turn, the second (substitution) stage required optimization studies. In general, reactions of amide, carbamate, and lactam derivatives occurred at a temperature of 70 °C in a relatively short time (1 h). On the other hand, N-hydroxymethylimides reacted with triarylphosphonium salts at a much higher temperature (135 °C) and over longer reaction times (as much as 30 h). However, the proposed strategy is very efficient, especially when NaBr is used as a catalyst. Moreover, a simple work-up procedure involving only crystallization afforded good to excellent yields (up to 99%).

The harsh climatic conditions of the coast of the Tatar Strait make explainable the large number of patients with frostbite who passed under our supervision during the winter of 1935-36 and amounted to 2.8% (26 people) of the total contingent of inpatients. The variety of recommended methods for treating frostbite, on the one hand, and the relatively long recovery period for all of them, on the other hand, made us take a critical approach to the proposed methods of treatment. All currently existing methods are reduced to the treatment of frostbite areas with bandages; and on the locus morbi apply indifferent or slightly disinfecting ointments, or a similar property of a powder, or wipes moistened with slightly disinfecting solutions, for example, Sol. kalii hyperm. 1: 1000. The apparent similarity of the external manifestations of frostbite and burns inspired us with the idea of ​​conducting frostbite therapy in an "open way", which has long occupied a well-deserved place in the treatment of burns.

Lime coating yellow lupin (Lupinus luteus L.) seed, when inoculated with bacteria from agar slopes, reduced nodulation substantially. By contrast, when peat cultures were used there was no adverse effect of lime coating on nodulation, even when inoculated seeds were stored for 61 days at 75�F, before planting. In two experiments the nodulation of unhulled serradella (Omithopus comljressus L.) was generally unaffected by lime coating when either agar or peat cultures were used. In a third experiment nodulation was significantly reduced with both agar and peat cultures on unhulled and hulled seed. This adverse effect was greater with agar cultures than with peat cultures. It is concluded that peat, and possibly the serradella seed pod, protects the bacteria from the effects of lime. The practice of lime coating lupin and serradella seed, when inoculated with peat cultures, is a useful technique, particularly when the seed is sown in contact with acid superphosphate. On the other hand, some adverse effects of lime on the nodulation of serradella when a peat culture was used suggest that other workers should test the suitability of the lime pelleting method under their own conditions. Rock phosphate and bentonite were also investigated as pelleting agents, but neither seemed to offer any advantages over lime.

We have fabricated the four pn-type junction TEGs (Test Element Groups) having different structure. Those TEGs are close to the double-implanted (Di) MOSFETs, step by step from the simple pn diode. Voltage-current (V-I) characteristics of the hundred TEGs having p-well structure show similar blocking characteristics of those of simple pn diodes on the same wafer. This indicates that the p-well structure itself does not cause a significant deterioration on the blocking yield. On the other hand, the yield is significantly influenced by the annealing condition for ion-implanted layer. The oxide-related hard breakdown on the JFET region dominates the blocking yield. The reach-through breakdown of the TEGs having the n+ region within each p-well becomes largely suppressed by the high-temperature and short-time annealing.

AbstractThe present work describing both laboratory and field experiments was performed to assess the effects of desiccation and UV radiation on the development and survival of free-living stages of equine cyathostomins.Cyathostomin larvae in horse faeces did not develop to the infective stage when faecal humidity levels dropped below 23 %, nonetheless solitary preinfective larvae were still recovered after 151 days (humidity 19.5 %). The development to infective stage after remoistening occurred for the last time after 54 days following desiccation.Preinfective stages are susceptible to the effects of the direct desiccation stage. The preinfective larvae were rapidly killed within one minute, the cyathostomin eggs within 5 hours. The numerous normal mobile infective larvae were encountered after 35 days of the desiccated period. The preinfective stage of cyathostomins also showed very little tolerance to direct sun radiation: most eggs were killed by the exposure within 3 hours and the preinfective larvae within 1 hour. The survival of infective larvae was, on the other hand, unaffected by sun radiation after 7 days (P < 0.05). However, desiccated infective larvae were then found to be susceptible to UV radiation, resulting in total mortalities after 5 days.

The article investigates one of the aspects of psychology of art, namely, the role of different types of human memory — sensory, long-time, short-time — in the forming of an artistic image in the perception of an audiovisual entity. The audience’s perception of such specific cinematic methods as pan shot and dolly shot, as well as different types of parallel, associative and distance montage rests on the peculiarities of our short-time and long-time memory. On the other hand, the complex polyphonic combination of various visual chronotopes in modern films is based on the imitation of memory typical for our dreams.

Amidst Bollywood’s romanticized landscapes and grandeur settings, depiction of the flora and fauna, roaring rivers and drought prone lands, is difficult to locate. But the new millennium has witnessed some new generation filmmakers, sensitized towards the ecological concerns, thus marking a shift from the illustration of idealised landscapes to the representation of nature’s wrath. Since, cinema in India, has a deep-rooted impact on the masses, these creators employ films as tools to sensitize the population towards the climate change threat which though as perilous as the COVID-19 crisis, is often ignored by a significant amount of population. Dawning upon themselves the responsibility of environmental awakening, Nila Madhab Panda and Abhishek Kapoor highlight in their movies, Kadvi Hawa(2017) and Kedarnath(2018), respectively, the horrors of human callousness, leading to drastic change in Climatic condition in India. Panda’s Kadavi Hawa, dealing with non-repayment of loans followed by suicides, portrays the heart-wrenching imagery of environmental degradation and Climate change that has rendered the Village of Mahua, arid and infertile. Kapoor’s Kedarnath on the other hand, appeals for action through horrifying imagery of the catastrophic floods that disrupted the holy town of Kedarnath, in 2013. Through a detailed analysis of the aforementioned visual portrayals, this article aims to emphasise as to how Films can play an important role in effectively addressing dealing with the issues related to Climate. Further, the rationale of this paper is to underscore the possibility of more such storylines, as a tool towards effective engagement and levitation of conscience.

The number of eggs per clutch in Tilapia mossambica (Cichlidae, Teleostei) greatly increases with bodyweight. But the values are scattered within wide limits. On the other hand a very exact correlation is shown, if one compares the weight of the clutches with the bodyweights. That means, that the fish either produce relatively few large eggs or relatively many small eggs, in such a way, that for every bodyweight there is given a definite total clutchweight. The animal is ready to spawn, when this relationship is reached. The clutch remains in this condition for only a short time. If no spawning takes place, than the eggs are resorbed, and a new clutch is formed. After investigation of the developmental history one can propose, that at the beginning of clutch formation there are individual differences in the number of oocytes competent for yolk deposition; whether the clutch is composed of larger or smaller eggs appears to depend on the number of competent oocytes, which were present.
