The FTIR spectroscopy method was used to investigate the changes in palm, sunflower and rapeseed oil at thermal influence up to 195°C, and also in contact with polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polyamide (PA-6) film for 1 hour 50 minutes. It has been found that heating the oil to 195°C in contact with PET and PA-6 film does not lead to any noticeable changes in the IK oil absorption spectra. Peaks characteristic of polymers (in areas of 1535 and 1634 cm-1), are not observed.

A large amount of research has been published in Taiwan on the reduction of the urban temperature for different strategies. The most important strategy for reducing ambient temperature is increasing green space in city. For analyzing the effect of the vegetation on the thermal environment, this paper collects temperature data from one green roof and one normal roof which are belong to a same office building to analyze the thermal influence of vegetation. The result of this research shows that in summer the maximum cool effect of green roof was -1.60 oC and -0.26 oC in average. Therefore, it can also provide useful data to governments for calculating the environmental benefit if they carry out a green roof policy in mitigating heat island effect in the future.

There is a quite wide range of animal leathers such as cow leather, sheep leather and buffalo leather used for leather garments and leather goods such as bags, wallets and other customized leather articles. The drawbacks of manual cutting can be eliminated by laser-based cutting. However, unwanted carbonization is happened owing to the higher thermal influence. There is no standard procedure or method available to measure the carbonization region on leather cutting. Diode lasers can process leather rapidly and efficiently. In the present work, an attempt was proposed to introduce the image processing-based measurement approach in leather cutting using CO2 laser and diode laser. The cutting experiments were performed on sheep leather with a thickness of 1 mm. It was found that the proposed can effectively measure the heat-affected zone (HAZ) of leather cutting. It has also been found that diode laser could produce lower HAZ than CO2 laser on leather cutting.

Technological solutions for brown coal processing, thermal influence on it at temperature change, thermo vacuum drying are analysed and qualitative and quantitative characteristics of semi – coking products are studied. The parameters of crushing and thermo vacuum drying of brown coal, heat treatment and cascade separation (electrostatic and magnetic) are substantiated. Studies on the manufacture of a pilot batch of carbon fuel with high quality characteristics are performed. Cascade treatment of heat-treated brown coal on electric and magnetic separators allowed to obtain a concentrate with ash content from 17.72 to 22.8%, volatile yield ≤ 35%, higher heat of combustion from 7256.1 to 7523.6 kcal/kg. It is determined that favourable modes of preliminary heat treatment of brown coal samples are in the temperature range of 200-400°С. The established characteristics of the obtained solid fuel correspond to the gas group of thermal coal. The obtained technological solutions for the processing of brown coal can be the basis for the manufacture of an industrial line, taking into account the thermo vacuum installation for further implementation in enterprises using carbon fuel.
