AbstractThis paper addresses the issue of how to enhance student participation in university governance. This issue is approached by taking into account the growing pressures of the European Commission’s modernization agenda on the educational policies of the European Higher Education Area, and by focusing on the way these pressures affect students’ conceptions of themselves and of the mission of higher education. The thesis presented in this paper is that design thinking and the humanities share a common epistemological core that enables them, if applied in educational settings, to play a major role in fostering students’ trust in their governance skills and in their ability to influence educational policies through a creative mindset and a deeper comprehension of the stakes in present-day higher education. An experimental workshop combining design thinking with the humanities and with the constructivist approach of student-centered learning was held within a course in a humanities bachelor program on the basis of a heuristic framework developed through an interdisciplinary research process. This process was conducted according to the principles of design and hermeneutics. The outcomes of the workshop in terms of the participants’ enhanced self-confidence and decisional skills validate the thesis of this study.

Data are collected by passive participatory observation. The results of the observations were analyzed by data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the teacher's skills in reinforcement, variation stimulus, set induction and closure, classroom management and questioning, and mastering substances are good. However, the teacher has not developed many learning models following Curriculum 2013. The teacher conducts learning activities in the form of preliminary, main and closing activities with good performance, but it is relatively not useful in applying learning methods, because the teacher does not apply student-centered learning method as recommended or instructed in Curriculum 2013.

Abstract: The purpose of the research was to evaluate the implementation of KKNI based curriculum.  This study was a case study within qualitative approach. The data collection techniques were interviews, observation, and documentation. The data were analysed by using Miles and Huberman techniques. From the result of data analysis it was found that 1). in the aspect of the context variable, the perception of lecturers and students about curriculum implementation based on KKNI was already good, but the perceptions of the educational staffs were not good, 2). in terms of the input variable, it was seen from three points; the vision and mission, KKNI socialization, and learning management. Vision and Mission of UIN supports KKNI, socialization of KKNI is very intense at UIN Raden Fatah, good management supports the socialization of KKNI 3). from the aspect of the process variable, in the learning process, the lecturers of Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FITK) tended to have implemented student-centered learning. Meanwhile the lecturers of Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH) still tended to implement teacher- centered learning processes, and 4). in terms of product variable, the students’ achievement was very good.

Education is essentially an activity carried out by students which results in changes in themselves. This principle implies that what must be prioritized is the learning activities of students instead of something that is given to students. STEM-based learning (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) can train students to apply their knowledge to create designs as a form of solving environmental problems by utilizing technology. The learning model recommended for use in the 2013 curriculum is a student-centered learning model, one of which is the Project Based Learning model. This study will analyze how much influence STEM education with the PjBL model has on student learning outcomes. This study uses a meta-analysis method. determined via the Effect Size (ES). Research data were obtained from 25 national and international journals. The meta-analysis study is based on three categories, namely education level, subjects and student learning outcomes. The results showed that; first, the influence of the PjBL model of STEM education based on the level of education is most effective in SMP. ES value = 1.89 and categorized as high. Second, based on the type of subject, the most effective influence of the PjBL model of STEM education is Mathematics. ES value = 3,7 and categorized as high. Third, based on student learning outcomes, the influence of the PjBL model of STEM education is the most effective in the aspect of skills. ES value = 1.68 and categorized as high.
