Development of the technology needed for making women’s dresses with a programmed LED device. Methodology. The used methodology of developing a women’s dress belt with a feature of using a programmed LED device. Results. The technological progress and evolution of innovative technologies have a signifi cant impact on the production of modern clothing. This tendency is seen in the expansion of clothing features with the usage of light eff ects. As of today, manufacturers are proposing diff erent textile materials that have fi ber optics in their structure or use LED stripes and tubes for ornamenting their products. Sewing products that are made of fi ber optic materials require specialized personnel with knowledge of LED systems principals of work because, in the event of failure of such system in the product, it must be eliminated with an urgency. Based on the said study it is proposed to use an LED device that is constructed with the following components: an LED stripe 50cm long 1cm wide, batteries, a board with a microcontroller and capacitor WS2812B RGB, voltage converter, and connectors. Using this in a product will allow it to get the light eff ects by programming a corresponding microcontroller program. With an example of a dress belt, certain studies were made that had shown that the light eff ect is working the best on white or cream-colored clothes. Using such a device brings in the advantage of the ability to repeatedly remove and place it back in the dress’ belt, which will be convenient for the consumer when taking care of the clothing and when servicing the device itself. Scientifi c novelty. For the fi rst time the principle of obtaining light eff ects of garments based to use of a programmable LED device was developed. Practical importance.  The technology of manufacturing a women’s dress belt with light eff ects has been proposed, which allowed the placement of a programmed LED device with the elements connected in a certain sequence. Women’s dress with a belt made by this technology can be used for stage performances, photoshoots, and short-term events. Recommendations for the care for such a product have been developed.

This study investigates the short-term and long-term impacts of economic growth, trade openness and technological progress on renewable energy use in Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries. Based on a panel data set of 25 OECD countries for 43 years, we used the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) approach and the related intermediate estimators, including pooled mean group (PMG), mean group (MG) and dynamic fixed effect (DFE) to achieve the objective. The estimated ARDL model has also been checked for robustness using the two substitute single equation estimators, these being the dynamic ordinary least squares (DOLS) and fully modified ordinary least squares (FMOLS). Empirical results reveal that economic growth, trade openness and technological progress significantly influence renewable energy use over the long-term in OECD countries. While the long-term nature of dynamics of the variables is found to be similar across 25 OECD countries, their short-term dynamics are found to be mixed in nature. This is attributed to varying levels of trade openness and technological progress in OECD countries. Since this is a pioneer study that investigates the issue, the findings are completely new and they make a significant contribution to renewable energy literature as well as relevant policy development.

Objective: Study of the possibility of carrying out predictive analysis of the technical condition of locomotive equipment using neural network predictive models enabling to plan the scope of equipment maintenance for routine types of maintenance and repair. Methods: A comparative assessment of the accuracy of forecasts made using a feedforward neural network and a recurrent network with an LSTM layer (Long Short-Term Memory) has been carried out. For training and test-ing of predictive models, we used the results of monitoring the parameters of the lubrication sys-tem of the 2TE116 (2ТЭ116) diesel locomotive by means of on-board diagnostics. Results: The aver-age interval for preventive inspections (TO-3) of locomotives in the existing locomotive mainte-nance system is 25–30 days, and therefore it is this interval that determines the minimum duration of the lead-in period, which the predictive model should provide. We have established that a mod-el based on a feedforward neural network provides sufficient accuracy only for short-term fore-casts with a lead period of no more than 1–3 days. With a further increase in the lead-in period, the error of the model res¬ponse increases to 10–15 %, which prevents it from being effectively used for solving practical problems associated with planning the operation of service locomotive depots. At the same time, the ave¬rage response error of the predictive model based on a recurrent net-work with an LSTM layer does not exceed 3,5–5 % over a 30-day lead-in period, so it can be used to plan the scope and timing of locomotive maintenance procedures. Practical importance: The possi-bility of using time-series analysis methods for predictive analytics of the technical condition of units and systems of a locomotive is shown. Predictive models based on recurrent neural networks with LSTM layers provide prediction accuracy and lead-in period sufficient for solving practical prob-lems that are associated with planning the scope and timing of locomotive maintenance.

Purpose Trust has been widely recognized as the crucial factor of consumer purchase intention when shopping on peer-to-peer short-term rental platforms where hosts and renters are strangers. However, the specific attributes of hosts that help build trust with potential renters and drive their purchase of short-term rentals remain unknown. This study aims to explore the effects of host attributes on renter purchases made on Xiaozhu.com, one of the top short-term rental platforms in China, while controlling for short-term rental characteristics. Design/methodology/approach A crawler program was developed by Python to collect the host attributes and their short-term rental characteristics of 935 hosts in Beijing from November 18, 2015 to February 14, 2016. The authors use Poisson regression models to estimate the effects of host attributes on renter reservations. They also conduct a series of robustness checks for the estimated results. Findings The authors found that host attributes such as the time of reservation confirmation, the acceptance rate of renter reservations, the number of listings owned, whether a personal profile page is disclosed and gender of the host significantly affect renter reservations, whereas the response rate of the host does not influence renters when purchasing short-term rentals online. Originality/value This study identifies which host attributes are perceived as trustworthy and affect renters’ purchase decisions, a topic of both theoretical and practical importance but currently less researched. The findings add to emerging literature by providing insights on trust-building in the peer-to-peer economy. Useful suggestions are also provided on strengthening the trust mechanism on short-term rental platforms to facilitate peer-to-peer transactions. Notably, the study is the first attempt to examine the perception of Chinese users toward short-term rentals despite its global prevalence. The analytical insights revealed from large scale but granular online observations data of host attributes and actual renter reservations greatly supplement findings of extant literature using survey and experiment approaches.

To determine the eff ect of the type and concentration of surfactants on the coloring quality of a water-insoluble analogue of a straight dye of cotton textile materials by the mechanism of heterocoagulation. Method. Heterocoagulation mechanism was used to obtain dyeing of cotton textile materials with water insoluble direct dye form. Sample software was used to determine the color characteristics of colored samples of textile materials. Appropriate standard methods were used to determine the strengths of the obtained colors. Results. The concentrations of surfactant required for the combination of suffi cient intensity of the dyeing with the required strength of the dyeing to dry friction are determined. The analysis of the results shows that not only the particle size but also the nature of the interaction of the dye surfaces and the fi brous material, which is responsible for the depth of the fi rst low of the DLFO theory (Deriagin, Landau, Fairway, Overbeck  theory), is important for heterocoagulation dyeing. Direct dye may be in the form of nanodispersion. In this situation, the diff usion of the dye into amorphous sections of the polymer is excluded. Dyeing is carried out on ly due to heterocoagulation - deposition of dye particles on the surface of the fi brous material. It has been investigated that the dispersion particle deposited on the surface by the mechanism of heterocoagulation is secured by the forces of intermolecular interaction and its stability on the surface is ensured by the balance of the forces of intermolecular interaction and the infl uence of mo lecules of the dispersion medium (Brownian motion eff ect). With the successive reduction of the size of the dye particles to the nanoscale, the infl uence of the forces of intermolecular interaction increases signifi cantly. Practical importance. Reducing the cost of the dyeing process and preventing the detection of structural heterogeneities of textile materials is possible when using a heterocoagulation dyeing mechanism.

In modern economic theory, scientific and technological progress considers as one of the relevant factors of long-term eco-nomic growth. The influence of scientific and technological progress on a particular sector of the economy appears in the creation of new products that have important competitive advantages over existing ones, or in the modification (modernization) of existing products. Often, new products based on new (innovative) technologies. However, technological superiority requires well-timed modernization of production and staff training, that is, significant financial and organizational investments. At the same time, the rejection of the transition to innovative technologies can lead to tangible losses in market positions or even to a complete cessa-tion of the organization. This model gives a possibility to make a prognosis of proceeds of enterprises with account changing of quantity of manufactured products, as well as various expenses (raw materials, transportation costs,...). An analytical approach for analyzing the influence of various parameters on the proceeds has been introduced.
