The need for environmentally compliant processes and materials in the Painting Industry grows more pressing every day. As the need for these processes grows, so grows the confusion regarding the selection and implementation of these new methods and materials. In the past, price and traditional procedure were the only criteria by which a material was procured. Speed and compliance with Original Equipment Manufacturer specification governed how things were done on the shop floor. With the advent of the environmental regulations, processes are being examined all across the globe. In many of the larger companies, the chief environmental officer has as important a role as the comptroller or Chief Financial Officer. Environmental managers are often not chemists or line painters, and typically, the environmental manager is skilled only in the policies of waste disposal, spill clean up, or remediation. The methods whereby a company can minimize the generation of hazardous waste remain less familiar. Often the examination of possible alternate techniques and materials are left for the last minute, or are conducted by personnel who are unfamiliar with how to make changes work. This is usually a recipe for failure in the implementing of anything new. This paper will suggest methods for selection of alternative products and processes in a clear and organized manner. Salient discussion points will be: 1. Process Examination 2. Material Selection 3. Steps For Successful Implementation 4. Possible Impediments 5. How to Avoid Risky Alternatives It will focus on procedures that will assist in the decision making process, and hopefully be of use in the choosing of environmentally sound equipment, chemicals, and methodologies.

The legacy of a civilization can be seen from the work left behind. Architecture is a form of work that can be used to view and trace the relics of a civilization. The legacy of civilization from one region to another will be influenced by local environmental conditions. This is the background of the importance of conducting research related to architectural vernacularity. This research is a research that aims to identify, describe and understand the vernacularity of Islamic civilization heritage. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with data collection carried out by purposive sampling. The analytical tool in this study is the aspect of vernacularity proposed by Mentayani (2017). Aspects of vernacularity can be seen from 3 things, namely technical aspects, cultural aspects, and environmental aspects, all three of which can be discussed simultaneously because they are interrelated in the elemental and abstract realms. The conclusions obtained from this study are: (1) vernacularity in Islamic civilization architecture can be seen in the shape of the mass and building plans, which do not always follow the initial form (typology) of Islamic civilization heritage, namely hypostyle; (2) vernacularity is shown in the use of local materials with local technology, for example in West Africa using clay bricks that are dried without being burned and wall reinforcement from logs. Keywords: vernacularity, architecture, heritage of Islamic civilization

Successful implementation of a patient blood management program necessitates the collaboration of a strong organization and a multidisciplinary approach. We organized a meeting with broad participation in our center to establish a consensus for implementation of a specific patient blood management program. International and domestic experiences were shared, the importance of coordination and execution of different pillars in patient blood management were discussed, and the problems about the blood transfusion system were also investigated with the proposal for solutions. The data obtained from this meeting are presented to be a guide for similar large-volume tertiary hospitals for integration of a patient blood management protocol.

Subject area Human resource management. Study level/applicability Undergraduate and graduate level Human Resource Management programmes; Leadership modules. Case overview This case accounts the experience of a Malaysian company, Telekom Malaysia Berhad, in implementing talent management practices in its organization. There were several developments that prompted Telekom Malaysia Berhad to initiate a talent management program. The emergence of competitors had forced the company to introduce initiatives to sustain the business. One of the key initiatives involved the need to better manage its talent. The talent management process at Telekom Malaysia Bhd is divided into four key stages. These are first, talent spotting; second, talent assessment and endorsement; third, formulation of individual development plan; and the fourth, readiness level assessment. Each of these stages is implemented using a well-defined set of standards and activities. Expected learning outcomes This case examines how commitment and support from line management is crucial in the successful implementation of a talent management program and HR-related initiatives generally. Line managers are identified as the missing linchpin between HRM and organizational performance. The case will also identify how the role of line managers is now shifting to support the HR in a strategic sense. Thus, we find a shift in the HR profession from personnel management to strategic human resource management. The case examines the importance of a positive leader-member relationship, creating a culture which is receptive to change. This can be achieved by transformational leader who fosters closer relationships with subordinates. Finally, the case pinpoints how development can occurs in three main ways – on the job experiences, relationships, networking and feedback and formal training opportunities.
