In the current scenario, English plays an inevitable role in all the fields. The learners and teachers of this language understood the need of it and have taken certain steps to learn/teach language effectively using different methods to meet the needs of the society. Only recently, after the outlook of ELT scholars moved towards a blend of methods to suit the unique needs of a particular class and students during the post methods era, This paper is an attempt to design classroom activities based on CLL using E-learning materials to teach listening skills.

There is considerable debate in the study abroad community about the efficacy of exported campus or “island” programs in which students and faculty are transported from their home campus to a largely self-contained community within the host culture. One uninvestigated aspect of this issue is the degree to which there are pre-existing differences between students who prefer such programs and those attracted to more immersive experiences. This study used discriminant analysis of data from a questionnaire administered to 174 undergraduates to identify demographic, personality, and intercultural predictors of preference for the exported campus model.  Results showed that those who preferred the exported campus model scored significantly higher on ethnocentrism and lower on measures of language learning interest, motivational and metacognitive cultural intelligence, and the Five Factor Model adventurousness facet.  Discussion focuses on implications for advising potential study abroad students, conducting pre-departure training, and developing in-country programming.

Alternative or humanistic approaches to foreign language teach-ing such as the Silent Way, Suggestopedia, Community Language Learning and Confluent Education, have been generated by scholars who are not linguists. An analysis of the ideas underlying the respective approaches leads to the conclusion that they are suitable for advanced students as well as for beginners. Although humanistic approaches are not based on empirical research, they have their roots in sound educational theories. If language teachers want to introduce these approaches into their teaching, they do not have to opt for any of them, but they can select elements from them. An example fo such an integrative approach is The Explorative-Creative Way. Research on processes which occur in second or foreign language classrooms, should be done in accordance with qualitative procedures as wellas with quantitative ones.
