In the current scenario, English plays an inevitable role in all the fields. The learners and teachers of this language understood the need of it and have taken certain steps to learn/teach language effectively using different methods to meet the needs of the society. Only recently, after the outlook of ELT scholars moved towards a blend of methods to suit the unique needs of a particular class and students during the post methods era, This paper is an attempt to design classroom activities based on CLL using E-learning materials to teach listening skills.

This study is aimed at improving the second grade of students’ speakingachievement by using Community Language Learning (CLL) Method. Theresearch was conducted by applying classroom action research. The subject of this study was second grade of Private Senior High School (Sekolah Menengah Atas Swasta) of Dwi Tunggal Tanjung Morawa which consisted of 31 students. To collect the data, the instruments used were primary data (SpeakingTest) and secondary data (interview sheet, observation sheet, field notes). It can be seen from the score in test I, test II and test III. In the Test I, the mean of the students’score was (64.77), in the Test II was (71.35), and the mean of the students’ score of the Test III was (80.90). Based on the interview, and observation sheet, it shows that the expression and excitement of the students got improved as well. It was found that teaching of speaking by using Community Language Learningcould significantly improve students’ speaking achievement.Key Words: Community Language Learning, Method, Improvement, Speaking Achievement

This research was aimed at developing autonomous listening learning materials for TOEFL preparation for learners at independent language learning center (ILLC) of the language development center at YSU to help them improve their listening skills. This research was a Research and Development study which refers to development model proposed by Tomlinson (1998). The subjects of this research were 30 learners who are members of ILLC. Data were collected using questionnaires and open-ended interviews. The data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of the research reveal that the appropriate listening learning materials for TOEFL preparation consist of printed materials and audio recording containing the listening skills to find the  main topic, to find the main idea, to find the implied meaning, to make prediction, to determine the meaning of idiomatic expressions, to find details information, to draw conclusions, to find suggestions, and to make inferences. The learners’ role is as active listeners and to answer  multiple choice questions, the learning activities include many listening practices, clear instructions, reflection and answer keys. Units are designed of Unit number/title, learning objectives, hints/tips, main activities and reflection. The appropriate tasks consist of warm-up, matching expressions to the pictures, matching words to their meanings, guessing, anticipating the topics and or questions, listening practices, note-taking.

Humanism developed during the 16th century. It gives contributions for education, up to language teaching. Some experts have developed humanistic methods in language teaching, they are Counseling Learning Method (CLM) or Community Language Learning (CLL), silent way, suggestopedia and Total Physical Response (TPR) or the comprehension approach. These methods could be used in language teaching as an alternative method to teaching the Arabic language.

The purpose of this study was to determine whether the Community Language Learning Method (CLLM) is more effective on the ability to speak 11th-grade students of MIPA SMA Negeri 4, Tanjungpinang. This type of research used in this study is Quasi Research. The tool used to obtain research data is an oral test. The population in this study was eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 4 Tanjungpinang. This study uses a method that requires students to carry out speaking activities in a group with topics that have been mutually agreed upon in each group. Researcher gave a pretest before learning activities. After the learning activities, the researcher gives a posttest that is added to the rubric of assessment, calculating the average value, and analyzing with the help of a computer application namely SPSS. The application of the Community Language Learning Method (CLLM) during the learning process turns out to have an effect on the ability of students to carry out conversations in groups that have been formed. It can be seen during the teaching and learning process students look more active and enthusiastic about learning to speak situations using the Community Language Learning Method (CLLM).

This study dealt students’ English speaking by using Community Language Learning (CLL) through Students English Association of LP3I (SEAL). It used qualitative research design. It was conducted descriptively. This study aimed to know the increasing of students’ English speaking by using Community Language Learning (CLL) through Students English Association of LP3I (SEAL) at Politeknik LP3I Medan. The subjects were 55 students of Politeknik LP3I Medan. The use of instruments in this study was observation, interview and documentation. The theory of Koba, Ogawa & Wilkinson was used in this study. The data were analyzed by Miles, Huberman and Saldana analysis. The result of this study was Community Language Learning (CLL) had good result for students’ learning and can increase students’ English speaking at Politeknik LP3I Medan. This learning method was appropriate implemented to students of Politeknik LP3I Medan. Based on the data, all of response and result of this learning method got positive result and effect through the students of Politeknik LP3I Medan. This learning method can also upgrade students’ knowledge in speaking and got more vocabulary after implementing this activity. CLL can make the students happy and enjoy in studying English without forcing them to speak English. CLL can also make students brave and self-confidence to speak up in front of public.

The method is the theoretical basis for something important in language teaching, such as teaching Arabic. In teaching Arabic, the method has many roles, such as the steps in giving a better understanding to teachers and students about the grammar of language, its use, and other functions related to language. In this article, the author discuss about one way to teach a language, which is Community language learning. The researcher searches for the importance of Community language learning, its definition, when it originated, its goals, how the functions of the teaching elements work, as well as how they are applied to education and what have its advantages and disadvantages. Community language learning is a method developed by Charles A. Charles A. Curran and his colleagues are also called counseling learning method. Community language learning has some major characteristics. The basic principle of this method is for the teacher to act as a counselor or mentor who plays a negative or inactive role. The aim of this education is to upgrade students' competence in proficiency in the foreign language as native speakers, as well as to increase the confidence and spirit of students in using this language. Community language learning is a valid and appropriate method for Arabic Learning.

Abstract. World’s technology development is defined by the level of advancement in the current industrial sector that is called industrial revolution (IR). The evolution of the technologies may affect the learning system for educators and learners. Throughout the years, student discovering troubles to have an effective learning method for their subject. To keep up the mushroom growth of technologies, e-learning has been identified as the best learning method that suits with the current generation’s way of learning. This paper aimed at designing and developing an integrated e-learning material portal for assisting university students of Centre of Study for Surveying Science and Geomatics (PPSUG) University of MARA (UiTM) Malaysia to have a helpful learning process in Cartography subject. The study conducted in three main objectives: i. To study the user requirement, ii. To create and design the portal, iii. To test the proposed portal using WordPress platform. The finding has revealed that most of the respondents significantly agreed and willingly to have an integrated e-learning portal to assist in the subject. The proposed portal offers special functions for learning materials process in particular integrating all learning materials in one platform such online notes, assignments, lab work sheets and other benefits that are easy – free to access and user friendly knowledge transfer for the public. The portal it still needs using the university hosting for comprehensive practice among the SUG students.

This article aims to describe the understanding of TSR and its meaning in the context of community language learning and experimental learning. For this reason, literature review and FGD are used as research methods. The TSR model learning method is learning based on translating the mother language into the target language. The TSR learning model has meaning that is relevant to the principles of Charles A. Curran's community language learning model and experiental learning from David Kolb. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan pemahaman Translate Self-Review (TSR) dan maknanya dalam konteks pembelajaran bahasa komunitas dan pembelajaran eksperimental. Untuk alasan ini, tinjauan literatur dan FGD digunakan sebagai metode penelitian. Metode pembelajaran model TSR adalah pembelajaran yang didasarkan pada penerjemahan bahasa ibu ke bahasa target. Model pembelajaran TSR memiliki makna yang relevan dengan prinsip-prinsip model pembelajaran bahasa komunitas Charles A. Curran dan pembelajaran pengalaman (eksperimental) dari David Kolb.

This study aims to explain and describe the implementation of functional approaches in learning Arabic through the method of community language learning. Community language learning method is a method that aims for students to learn to use language that is learned communicatively. Community language learning (CLL) is the name of a method developed by Charles A Curran and his colleagues. Community language learning (CLL) is often used in communicative learning or speaking skills. research in this study is the Research field. Collecting data in this study is qualitative (not in the form of numbers) through a review of some literature and using qualitative analysis in the presentation of data, data analysis and conclusion. The results of his research are detailed descriptions and explanations of the details of Arabic learning instruments that use the community language learning method in terms of a functional approach to realize the goals of modern Arabic learning, namely factual communication, in the sense that students are able to function foreign languages learned as communication tools, in this case Arabic.
