For centuries billiards—or pool, as pocket billiards came to be known—has held the interest of many people. It is not different with today's high school and junior high school students. Young people with little skill at approximating correct answers to algebra problems will persist in their attempts at drawing the correct path of a pool ball over a table until it drops into a pocket.
