Together with all the millions of people during the past war, thousands of medical workers of the USSR Navy fulfilled their patriotic duty. During the war, the medical service of the USSR Navy provided for the use of medical vessels on all fleets. The medical service of the fleets did not intend to carry out sea transportation of the wounded in the interests of the ground forces, so it was planned to put into operation only 9 medical vessels. The heroic traditions of Russian naval medicine are carefully preserved and enhanced by the current medical staff of the Navy.
